Great build. Skinny wheeling for going between the trees.

In a lot of he world this fits fine in the ruts. Same wheel base as a Suzuki (there are 4 generations of the SJ, USA only got 2) wich is popular worldwide. Also the same width as much of the worlds agricutural equipment.

I found the review to be a bit unfair. I’m not a boomer or military nut but I have one. Being “livable” is all about where you set your expectations. It’s an ATV you can bring to classic car shows or a beginner classic that can take into the woods or plow your driveway with, not an actual “car”. They were built charge across Belgium and France without roads, 80 years ago. Forming an opinion on it based on modern pavement driving is a bit unfair. They fit in any garage and are easy to work on or restore. They were built to be fixed by 18 year old kids who didn’t know anything and were getting shot at with artillery weapons. You can dive into a flat fender project without any prior mechanical experience and teach yourself the basics of how to fix, maintain and restore classic cars. It’s a fantastic gateway for the next generation of classic car enthusiasts. I’ve never had to trailer mine to take it places but I’m surrounded by BLM and forest service land. I also use mine for taking trash to the dump and short haul, in town , errands.

No disrespect meant to the owner, but I think a big difference is that you (presumably, if surrounded by BLM and USFS lands) live in the West, where a Jeep is still used as a tool to access badly maintained roads and help people in their livelihoods. Back east it seems that more people use them as political/meritocratic props despite their use being much more restricted and less relevant to daily life (at least that’s what I take away from Brian’s perspective).

@@verylegalverycool yeah that’s why it’s not a fair critique. Testing an antique off roader on pavement is setting it up for failure

@@Iamthestig42069 Which is exactly what was said in the review. Not meant for pavement, and belongs on a ranch somewhere in the boonies

I think the biggest issue with this build is the tire size and lack of overdrive high/low transfer case. If you're gonna keep an original or similar gearing you have to get a high and low od case to actually make it up to 60mph. Also those 33" tires are doing 0 favors. Those giant tires will make that 50hp feel like 30hp. It's a great rig for a little offroader, but could definitely be made more liveable
