Using wild assault when cornered gives you enough time to do IAD>j.5H and corner your opponent, while also being safe against dp (or at least vapor thrust, only tried it a bit against ky on training mode last night). I don't know the frame data though. Is it fast enough to be useful, or just a hail Mary call out?
Not sure about the frame data either, but so far I've been using wild assault as a way to steal turns back when the opponent isn't expecting. I think Jack-O will probably find more use with Blue Burst and Deflect Shield though. I'll have to give your corner thing a try, do you mean to wild assault when you're in the corner or when the opponent is in the corner?
@@vaterquality When you're against the corner. The guard crush should be enough to cross up with j.5H and continue your string. But yeah, blue burst and deflect shield seem to be the better options to escape corner pressure. I was interested in seeing if I could use it to do so while keeping offense instead of going back to neutral.
Wow. Goodbye 2k combos... But tbh I can kind of see why FED is no longer a command grab. It's so easy to cheese out wins with an unexpected def order into driver on block.
Jack-O is personally my favorite fighting game character ever, she's a great if you like a character that has a super high skill ceiling, and has alot of complexity. She's really hard at the beginning, I probably didn't win a game for like 2 weeks when I started playing her, but I haven't found another character even close to how much fun she is. So if you want a complicated character then yes, but if you don't then I'd pass.
5k combos still exist, just not from counterhit 5h anymore. She still has them from counterhit 2d and attack command, ive been rerouting 5k combos in training mode and they're not that much different. From now on I'll probably just do another 5h into summon after counter 5h since it still gives corner carry and allows me to set up
@@vaterquality I find the change on FED from throw to strike more of a buff than a nerf though, since it even catches pre-jump now, and stuffs moves like May’s Dolphin or Zato’s 6H.
@@vaterquality Not sure about you but most of the time previously it wasn’t catching people trying to block anyway so being an unblockable didn’t give it an edge. Now I can spam reversal against Fuujin and not have to worry anymore lol.
@@raywing00 oh yeah 1000% agree, FED being a strike is unquestionably a massive buff to Jack-O, I was just saying that the old unblockable was funny, but having an actual normal reversal is a huge buff and is better in every way. I've been playing Jack-O for a little more that a year now and I think I've landed the old unblockable maybe once lol, so trading that away for a real reversal is an amazing buff

I think they took away 2k off counter hit hs because they wanted you to use wild assault instead.
