Bastianini immenso. Non mi avventurerei in paragoni tra interpreti più che ragguardevoli. Ognuno aveva caratteristiche che li rendevano unici nel loro genere. Ad averne ancora. La Scotto ,giovincella, e' veramente brava anch' essa. Che belle incisioni. Meno male che uno può sentirle.
Hai detto bene ci delizia le orecchie poterla sentire .
Questa mattina 2 Aprile 2018 ho riascoltato il brano di Rigoletto , interpretato dal mio Ettore, io ho pianto.....a parte per la sua infinita grandezza di voce, la sua passione nel recitativo quel suo modo di porsi.....mi ha fatto stringere il cuore perché ho pensato alla sua perdita e perché Dio non l'ha reso......eterno!!!!! Sei sempre nel mio cuore Ettore Bastianini!!!! Grazie ancora IngridDoppler

I am pretty shallow in opera, but I know Verdi really expressed himself so much of himself through this opera. It is not easy role at all. Might be connecting to his lost of daughters and wife...Ettore is the great representative of Verdi himself!!

Che purezza di canto era dotato il grande Bastianini!! Lui mi inchioda all'ascolto e mi trasporta improvvisamente sul palcoscenico e mi fa partecipe del suo mondo. Mio Dio come era convincente nei suoi tanti personaggi , quel suo modo meraviglioso e talentuoso di farti capire ogni sua parola era una prerogativa che apparteneva a lui e a pochissimi altri !!!Grazie Maestro Ettore Bastianini!!!!!!!!

Un Rigoletto dotato di un immane senso umano, un uomo privo della sua dignità, un deforme che desidera solo vendetta per l'oltraggio ricevuto , un padre implorante e tenero, tutte queste sensazioni ed emozioni il grande Ettore con il bel talento che lo distingue te ne fa dono sulla scena omaggiando con umiltà ogni singolo spettatore !!! Tremendous! By far the finest Rigoletto in my listening experience. Indeed, the ONLY Rigoletto! Opera being by definition an impossible art, and Rigoletto being an impossible part, it takes Ettore's fabulous voice and more remarkable artistry. Listen to this articulation of every vowel! Listen to those soaring melodic lines! Listen to drama, passion, obsession, torture, tenderness.

I'm listening and I find exactly the same qualities in Cornel Macneil's outstanding performance in the 1962 recording with Joan Sutherland.
I think you said it perfectly. He is indeed extraordinary. You said it all. Vocals and nuances blended into brilliance.

Che dire ancora su Bastianini, la voce baritonale verdiana per eccellenza della seconda metà... timbro, colore, velluto ineguagliati ... sentito lui non ha senso fare paragoni ...

Інгвара Вікселя майже не слухаю ні в яких партіях, але Ріголетто визнаю тільки його.. Чому?.. Прекрасний Гоббі, чудовий Бастіаніні.., багато в світі "Ріголеттів", а сукупний образ - Інгвар... Чомусь інші мені здаються занадто "інтелігентні", співацьки "правильні" для блазня.. Магія голосу.., а справжній "блазень" - у фільмі-опері Поннеля...

Right,Gobbi had a dry,monochrome voice without top notes and no low notes at all.I dont like him,not even his Scarpia.

@@SpecialtyHorseTraining His popularity is due to his acting and not to his vocal skills. In addition to his brother-in-law Boris Christoff who boosted his career.
@@rb020969 My husband could out act Gobbi easily. Better voice too from imitating steam locomotives!! He loved villains and when I introduced him to Tosca, Scarpia became his favorite. Even did the torture scene in his anatomy class with a student who had wanted to be an opera singer!!

I prefer to compare the sound of his voice to singing in the car driving through cobbled streets.
@@rb020969 You totally misunderstand. He didn't sing like a steam engine. Imitating them gave him the tremendous power. Plus his voice had lots of natural resonance. Lecturing in the largest auditorium he never needed a microphone. His father OBE from British Empire offered to pay for him to learn acting he was so histrionic.
