When i was a wee nipper mah pa used to throw us in the lake once a week and told us to get back by supper. Taught us how to swim and be clean by golly.
absolutely showers only, and as fast as possible without slicing myself up shaving my legs, or missing shampoo lol. Actually I never run water over my face&head, I shower my body separately/then wash my hair, then rinse with showerhead hand held extension thing like Link has.
I used to teach younger kids to swim - the fear of taking a shower and learning to float is actually the same as the fear of heights. When kids lean back in the water when floating they think they're gonna fall into the water. It's the same with showers, they bend their head up and get water coming at them and they think they're gonna fall, it's very common. But Link, you should try getting him to look down or straight forward in the shower :) Also - as soon as he stops being afraid of floating on his back in water, he won't be afraid to take a shower :)
When I was first taking showers I just always felt like the water would engulf my entire face. And since I was especially worried about getting water in my eyes it was a real challenge when I was around 5 or so.
Yeah, putting your head down also makes it so you can breathe while the water is hitting your head. I remember my dad having me put my head down and breathe through my mouth to show me that I could breathe without inhaling water. It seems to me that most modern parents don't bathe/shower with their kids which I find weird. That's the best way to teach them, plus it gives them perspective on what their bodies will probably look like when they grow up.
I love it when they talk about their kids. They have some really funny stories. As an only child who has very little experience around little kids, they're very amusing to me. :)
"Mansions are for chumps! The taxes alone would break your bank account" "Its better to own several smaller properties so that you can always live in the best weather!" Is exactly what I said in response to that retweet. Thanks for the shout out Link xD And yes I knew it was a retweet and not you who originally said it!
I still feel that way about the falling water making me panic 20 years later, but i also have kind of a fear of being in water in general. It helps if you look forward/down rather than putting your head back into the water.
I'm a shower only type of person.. I feel baths make you feel dirtier as you're practically laying in you're own muck, and they get cold too quickly and you can't get comfortable, too much messing about for my liking!
In some regards that's true. My real problem though is trying to do any sort of casual moving/settling is 10x the effort with the slowing effect of the water, whereas in a shower you have no extra weight.
and i have no problem sitting in my own "muck" as i am currently walking around with it on my person it simply comes off with water and soap. plus simply take a very short shower after if you want to be sure.
Does anyone remember in the épisode where they talked about mini-houses, and the toilet was IN the shower! I think Shepard could use something like that.
Lol Link’s frightened-ness genetically transferred to his son, and he’s afraid of showers, soap, bathing, water. Lol Love this video 👍🏼👍🏼 You guys sound like great dads
Agree with a Link you can't trust kids to clean themselves till a certain age. Which? I don't know. But I especially agree with kids washing their own hair.
I hated showers when I was young! Loved baths! My niece is 6 and has loved showers since she was able to stand on her own!!! She has taken them alone since I can remember! She acts like a little grown up. Always likes to be clean though!!!
When I was about 4 years old, really long time ago, I was taking a shower everyday it was AWESOME! Back in that time. But now it's nothing to me but just getting clean.
I totally get the mentality of wanting to take a shower after taking a dump, especially when it's a highly potent one. Sometimes no amount of wiping makes you feel clean.
I used to do that thing where my mom would give me a washcloth before i went to take a shower but that was just because I could not keep my eyes closed to save my life while I was using baby shampoo (which is not tear free let me tell you!) so I would just use the washcloth to keep the shampoo out of my eyes.
You should get a hand held bidet. They are compact (they just hang by the toilet) and they are pretty cheap. You can buy them from almost anywhere. I have one in each bathroom in my house. Can't go without them!
A way to bypass the fear of drowning in the shower is to face away from the running water. I only ever stand towards the water if I'm washing my face, though I've dealt with crappy hotel showers before. Sometimes the water pressure is too low or in one place the shower head was literally eye level and I'm 5'6". That was a bad morning.
My whole life I have loved showers and can't have baths the idea of sitting in your own filth is just weird but I have has 2 showers a day for the last 10 years haha
I took showers all the time when I was little since I was like 1 but my mom was there. It was just because I have asthma and the steam helps you breathe better
When I first took showers, it hurt! Like lots of needles or something. I eventually got used to the shower, and I now refuse to take baths. Showers for the win!
I used to do the same thing when I was younger. I would always hold my breath when I went under the water, because I thought I would drown for some reason.
When I was young, I was also scared of taking a shower. I didn't like the idea of having the water on my face so I would stand backwards so the water is on my back. I still stand that way today.
I love showers lol, I used to just let the water hit my back and I’d gradually just turn it up hotter and hotter till the bathroom was full of steam when I was little lol
I have three boys ages 8, 10, & 11 and I feel your pain! Also, the house I lived in until I was 12 had a bidet! My mom went through a European stage I guess ;)
I hated getting a shower too when I was a kid. And even now as an adult, I have to force myself to get washed. But then once I get in, I don't wanna get out! I usually spend 60-75mins in the shower. It's like an event; a real process for me.
i think being afraid of showering at first is probly more common than we think. i know i was scared to shower when i was lando's age. try moving the shower head so the water falls more in the center of the tub, it helped me because it left an area where the water didnt reach and when i thought i might drown or got afraid, i could just step forward to catch my breath. once i got the hang of it i wasnt afraid anymore and didnt care if water covered my face and such. hope this helps :)
This reminds me when my younger sister was little I would take a shower with her. It is funny to think about it cause my parents never encourage me to take a shower or even shown me how to take one. However, when it came to my sister it was like that responsibility was passed to me. It worked out great cause it saved water and it was a great time saver whenever we as a family were on vacation or if there was ever a shortage of showers at a gym or anything else we will take one together. This of course stopped when we got older but the showering together has only happened when it was an "emergency" situation.
The think you do Link with the dry face cloth...my grandma did to me when i went over her house on saturdays/sundays...before we got put into foster care anyway....
I feel like 4/5 year olds don't usually bathe themselves yet, let alone get in the shower. Probably some safety issues too. I don't think I started showering until like 8.
"When you become responsible for little humans" sounded really adorable
Right ???
i love when you guys talk about your kids

I know, it's relaxing

Debate-o-Rama : Bath vs Shower ?

When my sister just started to take showers. She was 5. She wore goggles for two years. It was hilarious.
That's kinda adorable lol gotta protect those eyes
I used to teach younger kids to swim - the fear of taking a shower and learning to float is actually the same as the fear of heights. BrickProductions Well, it's still said to be the same fear, getting water into the ears and eyes is a part of that fear :)
Yeah, putting your head down also makes it so you can breathe while the water is hitting your head. Just tell Lando showering is like playing in the rain.
Am I the only one who didn't have a problem with taking showers as a child? Maybe it's just because I love running water.

Alex In Wonderland same lol
As a little kid, I was never afraid of the shower. I really like rain, and a shower is a mini storm!
I felt the same thing when I was that age. We had an open top umbrella to avoid the water in the eyes.
I love hearing about your kids! They sound so adorable
I don't feel comfortable taking a you-know-what without a handheld bidet to be honest. So I'm with you, Shepherd.
This is the best show or clip ever
Link's son is willingly waterboarding himself?
You should get a hand held bidet. They are compact (they just hang by the toilet) and they are pretty cheap. You can buy them from almost anywhere. I have one in each bathroom in my house. Can't go without them!

I think this is the first episode where I see Rhett actually get up because it's over.
rhett looks so cute with his haircut recently done
My whole life I have loved showers and can't have baths the idea of sitting in your own filth is just weird but I have has 2 showers a day for the last 10 years haha
2 a day
What a clean freak
That's unhealthy
I haven't had a BATH in 3-4 years not showers , I take showers 1-2 u weeek
'kay i gotta admit that when i was like 9, 10, 11 or 12 years old i took a shower every two or three months lol.
I've always wanted to take baths but every tub in my life has been too short for my height
I can imagine your kids watching this as grown-ups. I bet they would be excited about this conversation.
“I don’t trust them him to get in the crevices” 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
7:23 I HAD A DREAM ABOUT THAT ONCE
I taught fourth grade for a few years. Some of the students rarely bathed. They sat in the BACK of the class.

I used to do the same thing when I was younger. I would always hold my breath when I went under the water, because I thought I would drown for some reason.
what else would you do besides holding your breath underwater? Breathing isn't really an option xd
never I would go to, say, get my hair wet, id hold my breath. Oh, I should have been more specific, I did that when I showered
when I was a kid I refused to take baths and I only took showers
Same. Whenever anyone wanted me to take a bath, I would freak because all I could think of was germs swimming in the water alongside me.
Same

Just to clarify, you still wipe before using a bidet, it's just like a mini shower, not powerhosing action.
So I was taught to use water Gardner thing to clean myself after I took a dumb, I don't get how you wipe yourself! Does it still smell???
Rhett, if your thinking abut getting a bidet get one. They are amazing
I'm a kid and I love your show it's amazing also I'm ten
i think being afraid of showering at first is probly more common than we think. i know i was scared to shower when i was lando's age. try moving the shower head so the water falls more in the center of the tub, it helped me because it left an area where the water didnt reach and when i thought i might drown or got afraid, i could just step forward to catch my breath. once i got the hang of it i wasnt afraid anymore and didnt care if water covered my face and such. hope this helps :)
I could've sworn that they put the rooster in the background into the museum...
Lando, Linken, and lily thats so cute
