- This dance is called West Coast Swing and US Open is the World Championship of this dance.
This competition is 100% IMPROVISED and we don't get to choose the partner or the song in advanced.
Skylar is a woman dancing as a Leader and I am a man dancing as a Follower.
We both compete in All Star in our main role but we can compete one division lower in the reversed role.
What is funny is that we also danced in an other division together with her as a follower and me as a leader.

i thought that skylar felt like the leader in this dance and i saw the caption which said that she really was! i was pleasantly surprised to see leo be the follower. they were both so good! 😅

So, they never even once practice this dance??? This is all done on the fly. I don't get it. I wish they would explain how they know what their partner wants to do in the next move. I'm totally baffled by this.
