My Old School Disney Cartoon DVD Collection

- Here's a video showing my collection of old school Disney cartoons on DVD. These feature shows that were shown on Toon Disney, The Disney Afternoon, Disney's One Saturday Morning, and other similar channels. I have many of the classics like DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, etc. as well as some of the slightly later cartoons including The Weekenders, Teacher's Pet, and Kim Possible. I generally don't collect a lot of modern stuff; I'm more interested in the cartoons that I grew up watching when I was a kid, so that's what I'm showing here. This video was recorded in March 2021.
The answers to most of the questions you had in the video:
*The first three volumes of the original DuckTales were originally released on DVD once a year between 2005 and 2007.
*Darkwing Duck lasted for 91 episodes (65 of them aired in weekday afternoon syndication, and the remaining 26 aired Saturday mornings on ABC). Since the DVD sets we’ve gotten have a combined total of 54 episodes, this means we need two more volumes to complete that series on physical media.
*Growing Up With Winnie the Pooh was a series of five compilation DVDs from 2004 and 2005 featuring four episodes each of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but with the show’s awesome theme song sadly missing.
*As for the way School House Rock! aired on Disney’s 1 Saturday Morning, it was never shown as a stand-alone program; instead, it usually had one of its songs broadcasted as shorts in between the other shows featured on the block.
Also, a slight correction: the Goof Troop episode included as a bonus on the A Goofy Movie DVD IS on one of the volume releases of that show (Volume 2, to be exact).
Yes but the disneyland episode "goofy success story" can only be found on the goofy movie dvd so it's worth hanging on for that. Also note the goof troop christmas was not a episode of the show but first aired as a tv special.

A shame Gravity Falls was the only original Disney animated series to receive a blu-ray release.
yup, and it wasn’t even made by disney themselves 💀💀💀 it shows that disney prob doesn’t care too much about their disney channel releases to put them on blu ray.
they had a few disney channel original movies on blu ray from 2007-2011 but stopped ever since.
Are you sure that the Mickey’s Magical Christmas DVD with the newer packaging has the same content as the original release? Cause the newer one says it has Disney’s Fast Play on it.
Yeah if it says "Disney's Fast Play", that means its a newer watered down release as apposed to being a straight forward reprint of the original 2001 release.
I guess I didn't notice that, but even so, I think it still retains the same special features even if it has the addition of the Fast Play.

There were actually 4 seasons of “Kim Possible”.
There's also a 2019 live-action Kim Possible movie which was released on DVD and he doesn't have it.

kim possible’s remake sucked, the only good thing about it was christy carlson romano’s cameo even tho she was kinda cringe in it…

10:08 I heard that the DuckTales (2017 TV series) recently ended on March 15, 2021. Although, I've heard no plans on Disney releasing the rest of DuckTales 2017 on DVD anytime soon.

they should totally start releasing complete series sets honestly, even as disney movie club exclusives i would be grateful for.
that goes for live action series too, i wanna see a ravens home complete series.

10:08 And the DuckTales (2017 TV series) ended on March 15, 2021, but Disney has NOT announced any plans of releasing the remainder of the reboot series on DVD.
Fun fact:Did you know that darkwing duck was originally meant to be a ducktales spinoff, but instead it was its own original series set in the same universe
Tad Stones (the creator) said that the two shows exist in separate universes but considering Launchpad being a main character and Gizmoduck appearing (also Duckburg being referenced), I think that he just said that as a trick.
Btw j I also enjoy the Disney version of Doug to an extent
It’s serviceable not as good as the nick version but it’s still a decent reboot (especially compared to George of the jungle 2007, and ppg 2016 which in my opinion are terrible reboots)

Sadly phineas and ferb isn't there on this video. The fv series came out in 2000,and the normal 7 years after the fv
The buzz light year of starboard is a movie, that started the series, that then buzz got re voiced when series started and made it into 3 episodes actually, the original vhs of the movie at least, had Tim Allen playing buzz like in toystory, where when they made the series, Warburton took over and they reduced the movieand made it 3 episodes at beginning of series as first 3 episodes
The only thing about streaming is id rather buy something once and not pay monthly to have the privilege to have access to it
Plus it seems like a lot of streaming services are editing out offensive stuff.
I’d rather have physical so they don’t do that.

One of these days I’ll find some more but I do agree with you that disney should release a lot of their cartoons on dvd

Yeah I didn’t expect I’d end up getting all those Amazon titles recently, but I couldn’t help but stock up when I found out they were going out of print. I probably will do an updated collection video but it probably won’t be for many months or perhaps sometime early next year.

Another great video! By the way talespin volume 3 was a disney club release first as well. The cover art was much better with new artwork on the front and back and not that photoshop faces cover they replaced it with. It needs one more dvd set to complete it.
I forgot I owned that DMC exclusive Talespin vol 3. I would say you are right, the artwork for the exclusive is better because it is unique, though I still prefer the newer one because it matches better with the first two volumes.

DMC has release new exclusive titles recently like the kid the pacifier valiant tom and huck man of the house one of the last herbie movies a kid in king arthurs court ice princess the big green Those are all the ones released this year that come to mind there may be more but clearly dmc is going to continue making new bluerays

nice collection. my brother & i r twins & we were almost six when buzzs movie at 56:27 came out. we had it on vhs. my old vcr still worked when i moved in october 2017 but my mom made me get rid of it & all my vhs tapes anyway :( i bought it on dvd from amazon two years ago & just watched it again the other night. it was a kick-ass spinoff movie already & we didnt need that damn lightyear one. we had recess: schools out & recess christmas: miracle on third street on vhs too
