I was in my office with a little bit of down time so I came across your video, I could not wait for 5:00pm to get here so I could go home to check if my Vmax Vboost was actually functioning, sure enough I got nothing when I turn the ignition on. I could not thank you enough for your videos since they help me so much that in this particular case I knew exactly what to do, I did end up doing a module hack but at least it is now working and I cant wait to taste it. I've had my 97 Vmax for a year now and she is so powerful that I never realized that the Vboost wasn't even working 😆, I will be visiting Japan again this summer.

Hello. I was so happy to read your mail and know that my video has helped. In another video I show you how to repair a broken module or at least a hack to get them to work. But I am so happy you can now ride your bike and fully experience the power of these wonderful machines. Don't feel bad that it's taken a long time to realise. Many clients bring me their Vmax's and want a tune up when it's been the module all along. Great to hear you are coming to Japan. what will you be doing or where will you be? KR

Cracking video, very clear explanation. Recently bought a nice stock, low mileage 95 V Max with V Boost not working, funny thing it's a Japanese import bike, came over to England and is now here in Scotland, a bit annoying as i did ask the dealer A if it was full power (which it is) and B if he could hear the V Boost cycle with ignition, he told me it did, got the bike delivered and the V Boost was dead, there was power to the controller but no power out, put power to the motor direct from a battery and it was also dead so had to buy motor and controller, cost £225 posted here in the UK so an expensive fix, tested the bits and they are working but still to fit them, love riding the bike even without the boost. Keeping the old parts and hope to eventually find an electronics company who will repair them.

Thanks for writing. I'm really happy to know my videos help others. Congratulations about your purchase. I live in Japan but I'm from Australia. I have also been shipping my rebuilds around the world to buyers. I am just completing a rebuild that will probably go to Spain. Thanks again and always ride safely. KR

If you let me know exactly what parts you need I maybe able to get them in Japan and post them to you a lot cheaper than buying them there

Great video, mine is an non vboost (quick enough for me) I was told another way to check if it's a vboost or not is the rev counter, non vboost red line at 8500 rpm while vboost models red line at 9500 rpm not sure it's the same in your part of the world 👍

Nigel Hunter hello. Thanks for watching and commenting. It’s always nice to hear back from people who have watched my videos. I just went out and had a look at both my Vmax’s and you are right. Both redline at 9500RPM. A nice point for me to remember. KR

    Another great video!
After binge watching all your past vids, I've worked up the courage to take a wrench to my tired old 2001 Vmax that I bought used 2 years ago and rode maybe 4 times.
Of those 4 times, it died and left me stranded me twice.
So far I've changed the battery, motor oil, shaft oil, coolant as well as the air and oil filters.
Wired up a charging cable socket, replaced the stock headlamp bulb to an HID bulb and installed a Givi fly screen.
New brake pads are on order, as well as master cylinder rebuild kits for the brakes and clutch.
Currently looking for a work area where I can strip down the front shocks and install progressive springs front and rear.
Ultimate goal is to replace the stock coils with a COPS system, install steel mesh lines and repaint the engine.
Thanks for all the free vocational training!
Btw, do you know what type of valve cores the stock Vmax wheels have? Schrader or Presta?

Hello Tai it was great reading your mail and progress on your Vmax. I love reading what people are doing and that my videos have helped in a small way. I am not sure about the original valve stems but when refitting new tires I always fit Presta to my bikes. Thanks again for watching and writing. KR

Hi buddy. Question - what happens when you have the vboost but its taken off ? Does this affect the engine in any negative way? Also does this mean the bike wont have that kick at 6000rpm or will it have a bit extra power all across the rev range ? Thank you. You have a new subscriber btw ;D

    • @kodokunaraida1044
      @kodokunaraida1044  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hello. Thank you for watching and subscribing. So if I understand you have the Vboost manifold still on your bike but the rest of the equipment is not connected or there? Its very sad that you aren't able to fell that Vboost come on. There are many Vmax's that were made in the factory without Vboost because the government and some people didnt want so much power. I live in Japan and most of the full powered Vmax's were actually imported from the US and Canada. But back to your question. Your bike will run fine, and there will be no bad effect for your motor but you won't get that kick at 6,000 RPM. When the Vboost opens you suddenly get two carburettors feeding one cylinder with fuel. I always try and explain it like a turbo kicking in on a car. So if your bike doesn't have it anymore it will continue to rev but you won't be able to acheive the same performance as a bike with Vboost connected. Thanks again and I hope you will continue to enjoy my channel and the new build which will start soon. KR
