    Hey BJ, back in the 90's, lots of people thought the same that you did, and didn't think Woody Harrelson could dunk. So Woody went on the Arsenio Hall show and dunked with ease on TV with a live audience.

    1:49, 7:13 Larry Bird & Magic Johnson are credited with saving the NBA in the 80s. Yall should watch (and/or even react to) some compilations of:
    [1] their rivalry &
    [2] Larry Bird's trash talking &
    [3] the original Dream Team where the U.S. started to allow pro players to play in the Olympics instead of just college players. It was all Allstars (eventual hall of famers) & one college player. That Dream Team's Olympic run was also somewhat like a changing of the guards from Bird/Magic to Jordan.
    Bird & Jordan also had versus video games and a very popular string of McDonald's commercials of them playing H.O.R.S.E. against one another.
    Since the Bird/Magic rivalry went back to college and carried into the NBA, a number of people were trying to paint the Caitlin Clark/Angel Reese rivalry the same way in hopes to boost interest in the WNBA.

    • @jasonnelson6624
      @jasonnelson6624 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Just adding that's the 3rd time for saving the NBA. George Mikan was the first, and then Wilt Chamberlain also saved and kept the NBA from going bankrupt. Both of them truly saved and kept the NBA alive. Yes bird and magic get credit but teams werent dying. They absolutely deserve credit for bringing attendance and interest to the NBA. Just like Jordan deserves credit for expanding and growth of the league. Just saying.

      That Dream Team video, my favorite part is when they are talking about going to a topless beach and Patrick Ewing is signing autographs with his wife around and the other players are busting him saying, "You don't ever sign autographs!". Probably the best part about that documentary is seeing all these great players talk about how they bonded.

      @@jasonnelson6624 Teams may not have been dying in the NBA back then, but the league itself was certainly in dire straights w/ attendance being at an a all-time low. Bird & Magic single-handedly turned that around, so yes, they definitely did help save the league.

    The Pumps were super popular. If you wore them at my school, you got attention.
    That was short lived, though, because every kid who got a pair learned that they fell apart after 6 months of wear. By 93, I didn't know anyone who wore them. The popular shoe went back to being Jordans.

    This is still, to this day, one of my all-time favorite sports movies, particularly on basketball. Wesley & Woody's dynamic on screen was underrated, as was Rosie Perez's acting in this movie. Rosie was extremely talented, not only in acting, but in dancing as she was a well-known choreographer (along w/ Paula Abdul), and she was/still is a certified baddie.

    This was a great movie! Wesley and Woody made a perfect comedy team. And yeah, I actually had the same style hat that Wesley Snipes had, but it wasn't because it was some trendy style...that's a cycling cap like the kind you see in the Tour de France, and I used to wear one when I went biking. As for Larry Bird: Great player, but he definitely couldn't jump. But neither could Magic Johnson. Meanwhile Dominique Wilkins could bump his head on the roof of any arena, but Bird and Magic were far better players...because there's a lot more to the game than dunking.

    In the 90's Jeopardy came on either at 3 P. M, or 3:30 P.M. in Chicago, where I grew up.
    I think Dallas is also in the Central time zone, like Chicago and most of the Midwest, so it stands to reason that Jeopardy would be on air in the Dallas area around that same time.
