    Hey Nexus buddy!! Can you tell me the location of the daylight running light aka fog light fuse ?

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MMoxie-lb4iv hey! The fuse box is located in the control box on the left side of the engine. But before I can tell you, does your model just have one set of bulbs inside the fog light housing, or two? Depending on where you bought your QX60, some models have 2 bulbs inside, one for daytime running lights, and one for fog lights. Other models just had fog light bulbs only.

      Unfortunately, many American models don't have the dual fog light/daytime running light combo. It sounds like your model may be the same.

    your videos are really helpful. I have the qx60 2014 and want to change all the exterior front lights. Would you mind telling me what LED bulbs are the correct ones for this car ?

      Glad to hear the videos are helpful too, thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
      For the front lights...
      Front Turn Signals - Py21W (please note, you will need resistors for these as well, or they will flash quickly like a bulb is blown). (50w 6 ohm resistor)
      The little light in front of the turn signal bulb - 194
      Side marker bulb - 194
      Fog Light bulb - H11
      Some areas have a separate bulb for the fog light and daytime running lights. (ie Canada) take a look inside your fog light housing and see if there is one bulb or two. If you have 2 bulbs, the other bulb would be a 5201 bulb. If you look and it is just one bulb inside the fog light housing, then it is just the H11.
      Hope this helps.

      @@_ben_nyc awesome. glad to hear...one of my favorite upgrades. Love the LEDs. The headlight is a D2S bulb, but I would not necessarily recommend going to LED. Some D2S LEDs are not made the same, and I have found with some people that have upgraded that the visibility has actually become worse. I have not tested any myself to confirm, so it may be risky buying them. But they are available in LED form.

      my model is Canadian, which has both lights in one housing. For the American models, you just need to follow the steps in the Fog Light video here

      @@NexusAuto I would really like to know if there is a way to enable the Daytime Running Lights that are in the headlight housing of the American 2015 QX60 instead of the fog light housing.

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMartineer Not officially, unfortunately. I am sure if someone with the right software hooked up into the BCM, they probably could override those lights to turn on. But there is no setting to just turn them on. It's too bad, as they look nice, especially with LED bulbs. The other way is to run wiring from the DRL fog lights to those lights in the housing, so they run either with those fog light bulbs, or instead of them, depending on preference.

  • @bawilson3280
    @bawilson3280 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is there a reason not to take the fog light out of its mounting first to get more room to access the DRL? Thx.

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing really. The only reason I can see not to is to not bother risking getting dirt or contaminants on the fog light. But as long as you keep the bulb clean, you can. It really wasn't a significant issue for me, but if it helps, 100% go for it

    Hi from Canada, I have a 2014 qx60, not sure it’s USA or Canada model but I do found there are 2 bulbs inside the fog light house. My problem is I don’t know my DRL is working or not, there is no indicator in the vehicle display. And if they are not working, are there any reasons like the bulb or fuse burnt out ?

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi from Canada too! Lol.
      So if you have 2 bulbs, you either have a Canadian car, or a car sold in a state where DRL are mandatory.
      Easiest way to tell is to start the car, leave it in park, and make sure the parking brake is not on. Check the front DRLs...they should be on.
      There could be a few issues, from fuses to wiring, but it's VERY common for these bulbs to blow. I would start with changing the bulbs first and go from there.

      @@NexusAutohi, I have one more question, I can’t find any 5201 bulbs in Canadian Tire😢is that necessary to use 5201? Can I just use the fog light bulb for DRL like H11?

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @killian85 unfortunately not. They use different connectors and attachments, unfortunately. Not sure why they did that....very frustrating. The bulb is 5201 or 12085 (same bulb). Sucks that Canadian Tire doesn't have them...that's crazy. Amazon has them, and then there's the dealership. But I imagine they're going to mark up those bulbs significantly.

    Hi.... thanks for your video. Can you please tell me the part number for the LED replacement bulbs for the daytime running lights? Were they purchased in canada?

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did buy them from Amazon. I have the bulb numbers and links to Amazon US site for the bulbs in the video description.
      Need some bulbs? Get them here
      12085/5201 Standard - amzn.to/3hyyVzM
      12085/5201 LED - amzn.to/35DmnVj
      I did buy them on Amazon.ca, as I am in Canada. But most of my views come from the US, which is why I used Amazon.com. If you are in Canada, just put the bulb number in an Amazon.ca search (12085 LED or 5201 LED). Use my links as references, if needed. Hope this helps

    Hi, I have a 2018 qx60. Right foglight is out. What seems to be the bulb number if I'm replacing with LED bulbs.

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      for a 2018 QX60, if I recall, I dont think it is a bulb. I think it had a built in LED already in the housing. I tried to see if they are available to purchase, but cannot find one. Many sites list the bulbs for the 2013 2014 and 2015 JX35/QX60 as working with the 2016 and up QX60s, but the fog lights and housing is different after the 2016 refresh on the front and rear end of the car. As far as I can tell for now, the only way to get it changed is at the dealership. I cant even see part availability for fog lights for 2016 and up QX60.

  • @modifiedbear6178

    I changed the fog light to LED and I couldn't get it to turn on, but it looks like there's a second light in there that did work. Are there two bulbs in each house??

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is, depending on where you live (or what market yours came from). Some models only have a fog light, and others have a fog light and daytime running light (as seen in this video). If you see 2 bulbs in each housing, that is what you have

    • @modifiedbear6178

      @@NexusAuto any reason the fog lights wouldn't turn on? I checked the fuse and it seems to be good.

    • @NexusAuto
      @NexusAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      @modifiedbear6178 no idea. It should work. I know it may be an obvious question, but did you make sure the headlights are turned on? If the headlights are not on, the fog lights won't turn on either.
      Also, it is entirely possible that both bulbs are defective. It's not common but it can happen. If the headlights are on, I would say to swap a bulb back to the old on and try it. See if the OEM bulb turns on or not

      Before commenting, you should make sure you do research first. There's 2 versions of this car. If the QX60 model is sold in a city/state/country where there is no DRL laws, there is only one bulbs in there for the fog light. If it's sold where there is a law, then there is 2 bulbs in that housing. One if for the fog light, and a completely separate bulb for the DRL. Just an FYI for ya
