- Filipino hero Eduard Folayang defended his belt against the Vietnamese-Australian Martin Nguyen at ONE: LEGENDS OF THE WORLD in Manila. The "Landslide" was looking to score early with strikes but "The Situ-Asian" turned Folayang's aggression into his own advantage, countering a spinning back-kick with a colossal right hand that put the hometown hero to sleep. With a stunning one-punch knockout of Folayang, Nguyen became ONE's first-ever two-division world champion.

it isn't a lucky punch.... he was looking to counter at all times. I'm Filipino also, but give that man the credit. Everytime you throw a kick, you leave yourself venerable for a counter head shot, jst like what we all seen here. great sportsmanship by Nguyen

Folayang was sloppy with too many spin kick. He could of won that. Yea, it was the game plan and its not luck.
Yao Saeteurn Please look at 3:20... Martin already sees the weak spot in that spinning back fist. In that split second just before eduard powers up and throws the spinning fist/kick his head is totally defenseless and exposed. You can clearly see martin throw a huge punch but missed just by an inch, slightly... Be it spinning back fist or spinning back kick it’s the exact same thing - eduard’s guard is naked in that short moment. He saw the fault and opportunity, and had a game plan all along. No doubt about it, he has a great fight iq and is able to read his opponents movements well. Cheers.

It's normal to think like this as a spectator because that's what the audience want, they want action, excitement and entertainment. Fighting is not always fun to watch, fights can be very boring and can end very quick but that's the reality, fighting boring but smarter is more effective than fighting to entertain but wasteful.

I have to say that although Folayang lost, his kicking are absolutely amazing. In the other hand, Martin Nguyen is a smart fighter, he's speculating his opponents tactics in order to create counters and then finishers to end the fight. I am a huge fan of Martin Nguyen, but I must admit that Folayang really tried and he could exceed much further if he finds a method to kick less but smarter. Really humble fighters, especially Martin Nguyen.

Some people are saying it was a lucky punch because Martin didn't look or he didn't notice his opponent was knocked out. To me, it looked like he didn't expect the kick and was grateful that his punch still connected. He waited for his opponent to drop before raining down hammer fists. But if people want to belittle his victory, then you can say how shameful it was for an experienced fighter such as Eduard to lose in such a way. Martin didn't cheat to win and they both fought well. Give Martin his well deserved props.

he seem strong to me. Just like other point of views that he does those spin kicks over and over. That gives away his repeat movement for other to time and counter, and cost him the fight. That I agreed. If we keep seeing somebody repeat the movement, we too will wait for that to repeat and make the move to counter it.

This man is a true champion. As soon as his opponent went on to floor he went to help. Others that I have seen would be running around celebrating. You don't see that in a lot of fighters. This is one amazing and extra ordinary one. Must respect you my bro.

Martin Nguyen is the ONE-PUNCH MAN in real life, he defends well, learns the movement of the opponent, and then Bang! one heavy punch, this happens in a lot of his fights. Also in any rematch, you can see that his opponents are afraid and obsessed of his right hand punch.
