Instructions for the use of the app are included on the last page of the PDF. As has been noted, the PDF is in full color and larger than the typical little white book. It was intended for viewing on a computer screen and tablet. It is also password protected, as a deterrent to it simply being copied and pirated which happens to me a lot. A physical book would have been nice I agree, but at 70 pages and in full color it would have been way too costly. Some people have already commented on the price as it is. But one has to factor in what is actually involved in producing a special edition. By its very nature its a low print run, so it cannot be fairly compared to the unit costs of decks released by a major publisher. In this case it also includes the themed bag and the animations, both of which one can argue are not necessary, but they are part of the overall project as I envisaged it. especially the animation which i believe are unique in the world of cartomancy. Since I announced i was working on this project there now seems alternative Kipper decks are rapidly being produced, at lower prices, but they are mainly cut and paste of photos from the internet, and seemingly produced in a couple of weeks. They are perfectly usable for sure, but when considering the price of an item one has to also consider whats involved and this project represents over 1300 hours of intense work... I believe the companion document in this PDF form will be far more useful as a reference both to experienced and beginners to Kipper, and it will clarify my rational for the modifications I introduced (i.e. The Royal Salute). Nevertheless the objective of this project wasn't purely financial, on the contrary I could have earned far more working t Macdonalds for those same number of hours....:-). The objective was to inject new life into what was a dying system and for it to be accessible to a wider audience. For that reason I announced publicly from the onset that the deck will indeed also be released in larger numbers and lower costs, by two major publishers. USG in Englis, and in various foreign languages by the publisher of the original Kipper deck. But those editions probably won't become available until later in 2016. For those who did splash out for this edition, i hope you enjoy it. Ciro Marchetti
Hi Ciro, question for you... Can one only get your Fin de siecle Kipper deck bag on your website or is there any place else that you know of that I can get the bag to match the deck? Please advise... :-)
Thank you so much for doing this video, Kelly! I was so excited when I saw your post on Instagram about it! I know my copy is on the way now. I'm so glad you're doing these Kipper videos; you're the only one I know of (besides Malkiel) who's working with them and I get to learn through you. While I have all of Ciro's decks, I think this is the one I will use often, possibly even more than the Mystical Kipper. And I love that bit of synchronicity--the deck has a built-in special story all its own! :D
I received my deck on Thursday... I love them!! And you are the only English speaking teacher!! I look forward to seeing more of them... Thank you for your time..
+Renee' Haskins Yay, congrats on getting your deck, it's so gorgeous!! You will definitely be seeing more on them, I just have to regroup from Samhain weekend :D
+fatima nayeli I agree, though from what I understand the gilded reverie lenormand was of similar card stock in the special edition :( so I hope that doesn't mean this one will come out mass produced so glossy, we'll see because it is a gorgeous deck!
Never even heard of kipper and now I need these. I have ciro's, legacy of the divine and oracle of visions that I bought after your reviews. Love them! I had his gorgeous lenormand and I especially love the box that came with. Anyways, yes yes I Def need this. Great review as always!
+The Truth in Story LOL, I think we've all done that. Great video, BTW. Lots of info. :) Just want to mention, the other Kipper decks are the Leidingkarten and the Salish. The Leiding was meant to be an updated version, but it's already dated. A frizzy perm here, a landline phone there...lol. Ciro made a smart move doing a Victorian deck, that won't be an issue. The Salish is true to the Original, with mirror images like the very first edition had, but the art just isn't All That. So this Fin de Siécle is very, very welcome. :)
The cards are also good for the Storyteller of Role Playing Games like Vampire the Masquerade. They make for interesting drama and story ideas. Thanks!
Thank you for this wonderful review. I'm going to buy these cards next. I don't know anything about the Kipper cards, I just like the artwork! I'm not sure how a client would feel if they received Bad Health followed by the Coffin card though! May have to keep some brandy on hand just in case! xx
That's so funny. As you were saying "Dickens," I was thinking Oliver Twist!! I love all of these cards; got mine today too. You'll find the app information at the next to last page of the pdf.
+Bren Mevo :D I'm so glad you've gotten yours too and I will check out that app info when I climb into bed with my iPad and give the whole thing a good read, which I should have done first but I was too excited :D
The cards look so stunning! Don't you love synchronicity? I'll be sure to check into it. This could be a cool way to get into Kipper cards. There does seem to be similarities to the gypsy cards/La Vera Sibilla cards. Except that Sibilla cards have 52 cards instead of 36. Speaking of which I did find some books in English about these cards too.
+Norse Pagan Tarot Witch It is just a lovely thing, synchronicity! I think all these types of decks like Lenormand, Kipper, the Gypsy cards, and etc are quite similar in reading style!
I just got mine in! Stunning! Have you marked your cards yet? I just did and it's fantastic. I got some nail polish, Sinful Colors: (forgot the name already) it's a fine purple glitter in a clear base. Any glitter polish would work but this is particularly pretty. I put it in the top right corner, a small round dot. Now when they are all laid out your don't really notice the dot but you can see it sparkle when you're counting out. It's not distracting at all. Let us know how you mark your cards.
+L Cassidy I have used it in readings a few times and I haven't had any problems with the master cards, lol, I guess I had them memorized and didn't know it :D
+The Truth in Story Ü. LOL! Not me! Tiny brain. They are magnificent though. I love them very much. So readable. Now all we need is someone to write a book for us 'English'.
In Britain, whenever there is a celebration or noteable event such as the birth of a new royal or Queen's birthday or Armistice Day there is a gun salute.
Kipper is interesting! Also it was so funny because I thought to myself she is going to darken the edges and sure enough right after I thought that you said it. Thanks for the video! can you do simpler kipper styles and use a celebrity for reference as a pretend client. Paris Dabono does some interesting ones but it helps me get a feel of cards and Kipper.
+BOHO_GYPSY_LIFE Hi there, and yes, lol, I couldn't resist the edges! You are very welcome, I do have a playlist of some other Kipper videos I've done and I'd be happy to do some more basic sample readings in a video with Kipper, but I will likely use actual clients or friends as examples as that works best for me to have actual questions from people when I'm doing them or they just end up falling flat for me :) Thank you so much for watching!!
Kipper is interesting. I have recently found lenormand over the past few months and just totally love it because its very easy and strait forward. Oh gotcha so thats how ya do examples :). Im going to dive in and look at these videos I must have missed them! What are your thoughts on tarot apps? For some reason I have steered clear of them and all your discussion of app for this and that has be curious of what your thoughts are on them in general.
thank you for posting a review on this - I am eagerly awaiting my deck in Australia ... "for my ship to come in from a distant horizon" lol. I got sent tracking info so that's great. So exciting to see a comment here from the magnificent artist himself, Ciro Marchetti ♥ I've read the pdf file and wondered why there is no mention of master cards in there from the contributors. I do like that method of spread and intend to use it, reminds me of playing solitaire the old fashioned way (yes im that old lol) so again, thanks for sharing that :-) Other than that, there is amazing information in the PDF, especially love the 'behind the scenes' chapter.
+SassyBat You are very welcome and I'm so glad your copy is winging it's way to you! There is so little information about Kipper cards in English so I couldn't say about the Master cards, that was specifically from a video by Malkiel here: th-cam.com/video/xuyNF9S1HNQ/w-d-xo.html so it might be a family style of reading but it really resonated with me and I love using it! And trust me, I am old enough to have played solitaire that way as well ;) I think the PDF has a lot of information in it as well and it's quite lovely! :)
+The Truth in Story thank you for the link :-) Yes that spread resonates with me too and that's just watching it! so cant wait to put into practise here, ... got me wondering if any of the three extra cards that CM added could qualify as master cards, I'm thinking the community card maybe? Any thoughts on that? ok that's my last question, promise lol... thank you for your time - will be interesting to see if Malkiel invests in this deck :-)
No :) It is the end of something, work, a situation, illness, happiness, for me it is neutral, we have to see what is ending to know if it is positive or negative.
I love this "counting method"! I tried it with Tarot and counted 7 instead of 3 (used the majors as masters)... got a really interesting reading and I wasn't even reading for anything lol (I would have used a kipper deck, but amazon says it won't be here until August 4th :/ c'est la vie)
Thanks for sharing this! I love the look of the cardstock here. I think the first edition of Ciro's Gilded Reverie Lenormand was made of the same cardstock as this. But not his subsequent editions. The difference was huge from what I can see online. His art is not my cuppa tea. So I wont be getting this deck. Do you have any thoughts on the Mystical Kipper deck? Mystical Lenormand has been greatly admonished by experienced readers such as Malkiel Dietrich (in fact he threw the whole deck out the window at the end of his video!).
+Nobody Here LOL, yes I have seen that video lol, I about fell out of my chair laughing when he did that, although I feel badly for the creators, it was just unexpected :D I actually read fine with it and enjoy it although I agree with some of his points. I didn't get it for awhile but was convinced by a review on TH-cam to give it a try and I'm glad that I have it and the Mystical Kipper. I have to say that I had the Mystical Kipper as my first Kipper deck and I do like having it but once I got the original Kipper that is the one I use for the most part but I love this new one so far :) To be honest with Lenormand and Kipper once you understand the base meanings of each of the cards the artwork is fairly irrelevant except for issues of directionality and such but even those start to become natural and I'll use the, for example, Scythe directions regardless of what the scythe might look like in the card, if that makes sense :)
you know how you're supposed to get a app to check what your cards mean.. I was never given that app or how to get there with my deck.. unless it's in the book and I just haven't seen it yet. How do I go to that?
Hm.... I'm not sure to be honest!! Did you get the mass market or the first edition? I think the app was just for the first edition but don't quote me on that :D
Have you watched my other Kipper videos? Here is a link to the playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLXDZ3PWYFPRJ76AZGxB7_PFdHt2z6UN3W.html, I THINK I have gone over the differences and definitely how to read with them in these :D They read very similarly to Lenormand but there are more people cards and have a more personal, inner circle focus I think!

My deck came with silver edges and love it. My new favorite go-to cards for readings
the cut and coloring of your hair is gorgeous!!!! i thought i wanted this deck but i passed on it. but thanks for showing all the cards!
Aw thank you so much! This deck is available mass market now :)
Such a beautiful deck!
Hello Kelly,I find this deck look so much better in comparison with gilded lenormand (to glossy) I hope stay this way for futures edition :)
+fatima nayeli I agree, though from what I understand the gilded reverie lenormand was of similar card stock in the special edition :( so I hope that doesn't mean this one will come out mass produced so glossy, we'll see because it is a gorgeous deck!
You got it! I'll be waiting for the next release because couldn't stretch to the first release. Looking forward to watching this walk through now :-)
there is also the Leiding deck, which is from 1995 and basically a more modern version of the original Kipper deck
Never even heard of kipper and now I need these. I have ciro's, legacy of the divine and oracle of visions that I bought after your reviews. Love them! I had his gorgeous lenormand and I especially love the box that came with. Anyways, yes yes I Def need this. Great review as always!
This is my go to Kipper deck and it's coming out mass produced soon!!
holy cow, these are gorgeous!
+Cuilfaen I can definitely understand that, and I'll probably pick up a mass produced one to have as backup too LOL
Thank you so much for your review. I cant wait to receive mine. My father figure gifted them to me.
I got the kipper deck and got it in the german version. I have been searching trying to get the translation of the cards in english.
The companion PDF has instructions for downloading and using the app. ;)
+ragnarofl Thank you, one should always read the whole guidebook but sometimes one is too excited :D

im not sure if you have a video on this but id love to know whats then difference between lenormamd & kipper /how to read with kipper 🙏✨

Waiting for my Kipper Reading from this deck.
when you get the main man and a courtship card what does that mean?
That completely depends on the question and the relationship status of the person being read for :)
The Truth in Story The question was if id find my soulmate when I when to school and the relationship status is single and attracted to males
Oh YAY!!! Mine are on the way!! Woo Hoo! :) ok.. gonna watch the video now lol
+Danu's Dragonfly Great review & I love the blackened edges! :) I tried the distress ink in black soot, but, it wouldn't dry very well (on the Madame Endora I think). Anyway ~ I really appreciate the video :)
How are u doing ur edging ?
Love the cards
You have probably already said but what do you use for your edge blacking please honey? xxx
+Sam Wright It is the Jim Holtz Distressed Ink pad in Black Soot :D It's gorgeous! This is the 3rd deck I've used the black soot on!
+The Truth in Story Thank you! I know I've seen you do this before it looks so good xx
fin de siecle means end of a cycle or phase. google translate isnt always good
Thank you!!
What does the FB, SZ, SW, CM mean after the description in the book mean?
I believe those are the different perspectives of the people offering their thoughts on each card’s meaning :}
May I ask you how can I get this Companion document in phone?
The PDF was provided as part of original special edition. The standard edition that is currently released includes a small book. Instruction for the animations app are included in there.
It means if I buy a current edition, it won't provide the PDF?
Thats right, because the current edition comes with a booklet. The original version didn't. You can download the PDF from my web site for $5, because it contains illustrations, sample spreads and additional background info, but thats an optional choice. The booklet that comes with the deck covers the meanings of the various cards.... Either way, booklet or PDF neither has anything to do with the app that displays the animations. That is a separate feature and free.
Yeah, thank you very much. I think I will download it because I see the PDF is very colourful and interesting
Tankiu !!
The Mature Man looks like Ian McKellen
Well that's a good thing! :D
Hey there "Truth in story"! (For lack of knowing your first name lol)! I have a question about the deck, what color are the backs of the
cards? I swear I see purple but I'm not sure if it could be a bluish-purple. What color would you say is for the backs of the cards, I'm

@@TheTruthinStory Well hello there *KELLY*! :) Ok so I was seeing it right, it did look more purple to me or at least a bluish-purple, thank you for your quick reply, I'll be getting this deck ASAP! Only problem I have, is how to get ahold of the matching bag!
