Named him Leto because I thought of Dune for some reason. It also sounds like Letho from The Witcher, and apparently it means "forgotten", "hidden" which makes sense if you recruit him during Ostagar
I loved helping out the little village. I was saddened to learn it got destroyed by the Blight mid-game. Really nailed home the threat of the Darkspawn
Not even mid game, as soon as you get one main quest done. Boom it's gone, I like to think all the quest I did, the traps I help the girl build the poison I made for them. Maybe it bought them enough time for some, a few to escape. But we all know the truth, DAO is a dark game. But that's why we love it. It doesn't hold back
Almost all of these people, both charming and abrasive were casualties of the war against the Darkspawn. When the map over Lothering went dark I got a lump in my throat. I wish I could go visit the devastation of the blighted Lothering in Dragon Age 4. Sort of like visiting the crash site of Normandy SR1. If this is the last Dragon Age game like I have heard from some places a little nostalgia would be just perfect.
This game had such good scenery and touching music and they did such a good job on fleshing out the world's lore. To this day, if something surprises me I think "Maker's Breath!" or "By Andraste!"
@@truthseek3017 it's very hard for me to understand just where they went wrong yknow, like how did it become so hard to reach the standards that games released more than a decade ago have set, while the industry has so much more funding and resources. The true abomination is not the loss in and defeat in Ostegar but the loss and the death of this once peaceful and beautiful village. It wasn't always like this, Lothering has and always was there it seen its share of horrors and scars of men and war. However it always remained peaceful and prosperous, belive it or not even when the poor and desperate both civilians and refugees it was still able to sustain all, even the bandits on the road was simple ich. This music mirrors the beauty and innocence Lothering is, an innocence once had now lost and gone forever in game and experience lore. Once that darkness fills in the map and the skull replaces the village symbol as skull, you as a Grey warden will never see the beauty and innocence Lothering once had. You will no longer see the simple life it once offered and this beautiful music, it's just now commoners villages, Dwarven deteriorating ruins and wilderness of Dalish life you will now encounter. Regardless how you may feel for the other places you know already you lost this innocent village and Maker/other gods forbid its people...
I think I have vague memories of the party's camp having nice relaxing music in it. If it does (hooray! my memory's been lousy lately) will you be making chill mixes with that as well?
Um, it looks better than Inquisition to me lmao. At least everything is smooth, the colors are calming and natural, and the faces don't shine like they were all dipped in oil a second ago. I'd love for locations (like the Brecilian forest) to be bigger and less linear, of course, but... If they're gonna butcher the atmosphere like they did with ME1: LE then I'm out honestly
Wow, music in a dragon age game? Sure not. Dragon age inquisition, the most recent of the games, had no music apart from the main menu, so this video can't be true.
Ah, Lothering, the tiny village where peasants, soldiers, spiders, raiders, bears, wolves and darkspawns want your head.
A peacefull place, isn't it?

Somewhere in that village, the Hawke family is thinking what to do with the Blight is coming.
Well in DA 2 you do get a letter from Old man Barlin who wanted poisons for his traps, he now lives in Orlais.

I felt that Normandy crash lump at the return to Ostagar DLC.

Inon Zur, remember the name.
His work gives out an impression that he really understood the setting. The original Dragon Age setting which died with the release of Inquisition.

The very village where a child had to hire help because his mom got attacked by wolves and no one saw or did anything? 😡

My character at least got to experience lothering before sacrificing himself to slay the archdemon.

Lothering, a beautiful place. The calm before the storm...
The good old days. Such a waste of potential. RIP Lothering, RIP Dragon Age, RIP Bioware.
This would fit on a dark raining night on a rooftop in a 90’s Jet Li swordsman movie ☝️

Except for the darkspawn and bandits I'd like to live in a place like that. Maker watch over us.
