I hope this helps ! I got a bunch of stuff we have to fix here in Pearland ( fencing down some other damages ) I just bought my Ryker week before the Hurricane and I’m still trying to get comfortable to ride on it between every thing else that’s going on ( scared of driving on 45 lol ) . I just took my 3 wheel class at Mancuso near Jersey Village . Hope to bump into you( not literally , but meet you lol ) one day ! Sending love from 77089 brotha ! Subscribed and hang in there .
That’s a really tough break, man. I’m sure there’s no easy way out of it because of the equation that happens to be in your situation but I wish you the best.
We have a saying here, "bad luck never comes alone" but if life taught me anything is that if you stick it out there's a light at the end of the tunnel :)
It would be so nice if there was some competition between utility companies. It would be great to threaten them with going to another utility company if they didn't get their shit together. lol
Living in northern NH I find Houston almost unlivable at the best of times. These are not the best of times. I don't even have AC at my house and don't miss it.
Ah, utility companies shirking responsibilities... Doesn't sound familiar at all. If you're going through hell, keep going. Thanks for the content and hang in there.
I understand it. There are multiple utility power companies in Texas. Not like here in Florida. I am only responsible for the hook up to my house and inward. As like the plumbing plumbing is my responsibility right down to the Y that connects my house runoff lines to the street.
That's the rub in the Houston area... we don't really have any choice of providers. There are multiple power companies you can use for service, but the transmission lines are all owned and maintained by Centerpoint Energy. They are the weak link with a monopoly over the distribution system. 😒 --QM
That is so hard to listen to. Cash flow issues compounding major weather issues heaped on top of an intransigent utility company. Meanwhile this evening in the middle of our summer in my part of the UK it’s a pleasant 19c or 66.2f. And that doesn’t help you one iota. My sympathies Aaron, life just piles it on at times.
Couple months ago a real bad storms went through lakes and had 75 miles wind blows down trees and power lines and we had problems with the new back up generator did not came on because last time we had service the person forgot tied down oil cap and blows oil all over generator we called Tri-state because under warranty and took them 7 days come fix it! My dad went to store and buy 4 fans try keep it cool at home so I know how you feel! Mr Aaron 😢😂
@timmahccg Yep! I posted this gem in my Discord server the other day: th-cam.com/video/0qMuZSQUdNY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wqYKVXKtAcaaM-X4 . It's typical behavior from a poorly-regulated, mismanaged, for-profit company that shifts all the blame and COST to the consumer. Meanwhile, we don't have any choice of providers or any way to opt out of these rate hikes. Centerpointless will certainly pocket those funds and continue to post record profits... lather, rinse, repeat. 🤬 --QM
shortie but goodie. Sure sorry for all your BS.. Our latest was 100MPH+ Straight line winds, 18 hours without power )yeah I know nothing NEAR what you're dealing with( Trees down everywhere... I live in a developed forest. We've had flooding and inclement weather for weeks on end;normal this time of year being in Eastern NE. HUMID 96F+ with dew points in the 70's etc. MAN we need to catch a break soon right?! Damn. THANKS as always for the vicarious throttle therapy, and I'm keeping you and your fam in my thoughts and prayers!
Its soooooo hot lately, but we got some nice cooling rain yesterday for about 14 hours. I went out for a ride with just basic rain gear. I didn't care that i got wet,it just feels so good having rain and cold wind blowing thru you after 2 weeks of being in Satan's butthole
Apologies for off topic question but thought you might see it on a recent video. Just bought a rebel 1100t, loving it but definitely need to get the bars back. Seem to recall you mentioning this one time. What do you recommend? From Mark (UK)
I’m an electrician have been doing it for over 20 years I have never once heard of a homeowner being responsible for a buried line ahead of the meter. Maybe it’s different down there but seems strange to me
I thought about that option, but we might overload the remaining 120V leg. Our main breaker is 200A, so trying to pull double the amperage on the remaining leg might be a disaster... especially if the line is already compromised and degrading. 🤔 --QM
@SB-dm6pb I absolutely hate taking anything from the government for any reason because they reserve the right to audit you or change the terms of the agreement after the fact. It's like being indebted to a loan shark who's looking for kneecaps to break. However, I'm investigating the FEMA claim process now to see if we can get some kind of relief. Unfortunately, the government is always slow to process any paperwork or benefits. We're stuck with partial power and full sweat until the insurance company and Centerpoint decide to fix anything. 😒 --QM
@knowone6214 I'm too broke to move right now, and my two girls are still in school. My middle daughter will graduate high school this year, so we'll probably plan to move afterwards. I'd love to live on a couple of acres of land somewhere farther west... in a small town with less hassle. 😉👍 --QM
@paul5683 Looks can be deceiving. The home prices in this area have skyrocketed lately to $450K+, but living here is worse than 15 years ago when these were $200K homes. The taxes, HOA fees, and general cost of living has spiked 200%+ in that time, so it's worse now than 10 years ago. My burn rate is ~$8K/mo just to live in this area, and I'm only here for my kids. I'm planning to evacuate this shitshow ASAP! 😒 --QM
all i can do to help is watch all your adds in her videos because it says the more people watch the more they pay out. until harris came on then i had to click out of that thing.
Thanks!

I was without power for 7 days. good thing i have a generator! without it my 8mos old would be in danger!
We applied to FEMA and eventually got some cash to pay for some of our losses.

Probably a lightning strike on the underground power line.

Just wait until Centerpointless starts to charge us to recover costs for all the repairs.

Rox Risers for the Rebel - Model # 3R-B20R-RBL = 1.5" up / 1.2" back, and great quality.

buy a step up transformer to bump that 120 leg up to 220

You need to invite your delinquient customers over to your house and not let them leave until they pay up

Sent you a message on SCBR forum
I don't understand how you should be responsible for a transmission line that's bringing power to your property. It's a horrible predicament your in.
why do you keep staying in that Insane Clown Circus

From the looks of that neighborhood, I'd say it's pretty nice living. Rows and rows of quarter million dollar homes. Could be worse.
