"The first time I ever really listened to Kyle Kulinski’s show was in the back of a cab last summer. The driver had his phone hooked up through the stereo and was pumping out an episode through the car speakers - loudly, as if looking to convert a captive audience.
    “Do you like Kyle Kulinski?”
The driver, Ahmed, was a recent immigrant and apparently a die-hard fan of Secular Talk, the political talk show that Kulinski broadcasts on TH-cam. I told him, yes, in fact. I do like Kulinski, had come across his show several years ago, and, all things considered, he seemed pretty good.
“He understands what we’re up against,” Ahmed said. “Like Bernie.”
But I was surprised to hear Kulinski’s name mentioned in the same breath as Bernie Sanders, particularly with such adoration. Because what I did remember about Kulinski’s show struck me as mostly capital-P “progressive” takes on the news - the left wing of the Netroots crowd more than the democratic socialism Sanders has popularized.
It’s an impression that wasn’t entirely incorrect.
“I have no time for philosophical, airy bullshit,” Kulinski tells me from his home in Westchester, New York. “I don’t want to hear about Lenin. I don’t want to hear about Marx. I just want a super plainspoken, straightforward agenda with a straightforward way of selling it.”
With over 800,000 subscribers and nearly 670 million total views on TH-cam, selling a progressive agenda is clearly something Kulinski knows how to do - even Democracy Now, the long-standing flagship of progressive media, cannot match his reach on the platform. Chapo Trap House can certainly boast a wildly devoted fan base (and a not insignificant degree of media influence), but their audience is roughly half the size of Kulinski’s.
While Secular Talk might be more likely to be looped in with the progressive networks around Air America and Pacifica alums like Sam Seder than the more resolutely socialist world, Kulinski’s fiery rhetoric, razor-sharp class instincts, and knack for withering takedowns sets him apart from his peers. Judging by his rhetoric alone, he’s closer to a Eugene Debs than a Chris Hayes.
But unlike Hayes, Amy Goodman, or his friend Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks - who began airing Secular Talk on his web network seven years ago - the thirty-two-year-old Kulinski is virtually invisible in the mainstream media. Despite his enormous fan base, his show has never once been mentioned in the obligatory trend pieces on “the Millennial Left” pumped out by the prestige media. Nor has Kulinski’s name ever popped up at all in the New York Times, Vox, the New Yorker, New York Magazine, or the Washington Post, despite his leading role in cofounding Justice Democrats, the organization widely credited with sweeping Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of “the Squad” to power.
Just last week, his Wikipedia page was deleted. The reason? “There is very simply no [reliable source] coverage of this person,” according to one moderator. In new media, he’s king - the Sean Hannity of the Berniecrat left. In old media, he’s nobody.
I suspect there are a few reasons for that. There is nothing “cool” about Kulinski’s show. (As a friend put it, “‘Welcome to Secular Talk’ sounds like something you’d hear on Egyptian radio.”) His no-nonsense social-democratic politics won’t get him much cred with the Full Communism crowd. He records his show not in Brooklyn or Los Angeles, but in a studio he built himself in his modest Westchester home. His hair is too groomed and his taste in clothes too preppy to qualify as “Dirtbag Left.” Nor has he ever attended an n+1 release party. “Not only have I not attended one,” he says, “I have no idea what that means.”
And yet he’s astonishingly plugged-in for a young man in the suburbs. Wondering how Sanders ended up on the Joe Rogan Experience? Kulinski, a frequent guest on Rogan’s wildly popular show, introduced them. “You make the most sense to me,” Rogan told Kulinski on a recent episode. “You’re a normal person.”
Much like Sanders himself, Kulinski’s show has a massive audience that just doesn’t compute with our media’s understanding of “what the kids want” or even “what the left-wing kids want.”
It’s probably for the best - the very woke and very WASP-ish decorum haunting much of the media world is nowhere to be found in Secular Talk. “Corporate Democrats over-focus on identity as a trick to divert you from the issues that unite us all - class issues,” he said on a recent episode.

Am I the ONLY western 70 year old with functioning memory?
Because growing up as a white working class British kid on a council estate in the UK in the 1950s 60s and 70s, one of my frist memories of seeing mass protests being 'cracked down on' was the Civil rights movement in the USA, even I as a 10 year old in 1963 knew instinctivley whose 'side' I was on, for me being on the side of the oppressed and NEVER the oppressors seemed to be genetic and instinctive, in my school days I was always the one who stand up to the bullies on behalf of one of their victims, which inevitably resulted my having to explain where the black eye came from when I got home.
You could see and hear EXACTLY the same things being said by 'some' of the public, and almost ALL of the media about the civil rights protestors back then.
and WHO does history show were on the RIGHT 'side' TODAY where the likes of MLK are now quite rightly seen as heroes in the fight for equallity for all and the advancement of the human race?
Then I recall the GLOBAL anti Vietnam war protests, The protesters were "hippies" drug users, thugs, anti democratic communist sympathisers, and the politico/media partneship wasted NO time in pouring scorn and malice on these protestors.
remind us all again, WHO does history tell us was on the right 'side' that time? despite all the media and their controllers could throw at us.
We then had 'the troubles' in Ireland with another civil rights movement being brutally put down, with the usual lies and propaganda from the 'always' establishment supporting media,
by the way, as a British Englishman I have ALWAYS supported a united Ireland providing the union is achieved at the balot box and not with bombs and bullets.
Looking back, who has history favoured? the wolf or the lamb?
then South Africa with it's racist regime, backed to the HILT by the British government DESPITE almost the entire planet turninig it's back on that vile regime, and the mass protest by the supporters of equallity and human rights, AGAIN.
    Iraq, same groundhog day.
On it goes conflict after conflict, protest after protest, with the establishment ALLWAYS taking the side of the oppressors and NEVER the oppressed, and history ALWAYS condemns them for it.
To all those who want to see freedom and equality for ALL, fear not, we already KNOW history is on your side, stay strong.
    FREEDOM FOR PALESTINE.

Speaking of Srebrenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina - actually over 8000 people were killed and yes, it's legaly considered as genocide. Now zionists in Wiesenthal centre are actually denying this legal fact since they think "it's abuse of terminology of genocide". It's really shame as Jews both generally and representatives from the very same Wiesentahl centre were very engaged back in 90s and urging to US government to prevent genocide in Bosnia but now, due their own zionist interests and agenda, are denying Srebrenica genocide (calling it "just a massacre") since they are worried that what they are currently going in Gaza also will be classified as genocide (as it should).

He is fundamentally a racist, true deep racism, the kind that comes from his core.

    • @Boredasfuck29
      @Boredasfuck29 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

If you can't see that Islam is very clearly worse (generally speaking) than all of the other most popular religions, then you're lost. It is WILD that people are actually so deluded as to think we wouldn't be better off under, for example, a Christian theocracy vs. an Islamic one in a hypothetical situation where we would have to pick one or the other. All you have to do is observe the reality of the world, and the values of each religion.
Islam/Muslim isn't a race btw lol. You can't be racist against a religion. Many people from Muslim countries are literally caucasians.
We get it, you didn't like church. I didn't either. You shouldn't let that cloud your judgement to the point where you're completely blind to observable reality, though.

i mean as an atheist who hates the fuck out of mahr and galloway, there's actual enforced laws on the books in many of these countries that criminalize my existence as an atheist. and these laws are used against atheist exmuslims to harrass, abuse, manipulate and extort them, leaving them poorer and less safe as a result, as a form of legal systemic prejudice.
three things can be true, that islam can be horrible for atheists, someone can both be an atheist and a bigot, but not all atheist's are racist towards arabs.
in fact, i don't know of an atheistic country that has anything close to the treatment of arabs as to how islamic arabs treat nonislamic arabs.
even in france where there clearly cracking down on the hijab and not the suit, i don't believe people are being jailed for their beliefs.
i dislike all religions, but it's clear to me that not all of them treat me and my beliefs in exactly the same way.

I guess since he was cancelled by the Bush administration and sued by Donald Trump over a joke, he realized that punching up is futile, especially if it’s making fun of the GOP machine. So now he picks up fights with “democrats”, the “woke mind virus”, DEI people, trans people, SJWs, and anyone that stands with Palestinians or anything that may annoy Bibi, Shapiro, or any Zionist in cable news and talk radio. He has Dave Rubin-ed into the centrist moderate ready to vote Republican when told so. I look forward in the future when Bill Maher has his crappy show transferred from HBO to PragerU or the Daily Wire where his friend Ben Shapiro is waiting him with open arms and the audience can finally see his talking points that are no different from the Wilks Brothers Enterprises’ show hosts. That way John Oliver can mop the floor with Bill Maher and put him in his place like he did with Jay Leno (for Conan).

The gov't of Canada was not justified in aspects of their response according to your courts... they violated peoples' civil rights.
I also recall every lefty I saw around that time supporting those protests being broken up simply because they didn't agree with the message, while also pretending they were worse than the BLM "protests" in America (very obviously not true in terms of damage done.) When it was all over, those same lefties cheered on the Canadian gov't violating those same protestors' rights by having them debanked, among other things. Most of the complaints were along the lines of "they're loud ;(," which is hard for me to take seriously as a threat to anyone's safety. These were also the most compliant protestors I'd seen in quite a while, so it's really hard to justify the response or the hivemind-like vitriol towards those people.
The convoy blocking the trade bridges were not part of the same group iirc.
By the way, it's really funny hearing progressives talk about free expression when it is not a principle that the vast majority of them believe in at all.
