Spending the day on the waters and the small islands of Ha Long Bay was magical! The scenery is comparable to the one in the James Bond movie "The man with the Golden Gun", filmed in Thailand (near Phuket).
As they said in the vid, coffee is a must-try thing when you come to VN. In the north, you should try cà phê sữa đá (iced milk coffee) and in the south you should try bạc xỉu (kinda like coffee with milk). You can also try green tea here, people sell it everywhere, but the best must be shops on sidewalks where the elders usually sit. VN is one of the largest tea exporting countries in the world for a reason after all There's a lot of food I can recommend for you as someone lives in Hanoi like: phở (a kind of noodle soup, it's the most common), bún chả, bún đậu, bánh giò, bánh cuốn, cốm (best from Làng Vòng), bánh giầy giò, xôi,... We also have traditional snacks around our whole country, with very unique dish in each city. But it'a hard to go through the whole country so I would list down some stuff you can find mostly everywhere: nem chua, bánh tráng trộn, chè bưởi, chè lam, tào phớ, bánh khọt, quẩy, bánh bột lọc, bò bía, hoa quả dầm, bánh canh,... The food is our country is cheaper to others place so don't worry much, just go down the street and everything is there And there's a part in the vid that said "16 streets" named after the goods the sell. It's false, we have 36 streets named after the goods, although some might not sell the those stuff anymore. Be careful when you go there, the streets are tangled so it's really easy to get lost, gg map won't help you either, buy a map from here or ask some locals would be a smarter choice I'd say. The building with the observatory that you see at 3:41 is Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower, which is the second tallest building in Vietnam. I think you should learn about traffic in Vietnam, when you first come to Vietnam it is crazy, but if you get used to it, it will be very interesting! it's seen as a challenge of courage when you've just arrived in Vietnam ♥
When I was there and wanted to cross the street, specially in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, I learned to start walking carefully and just go on slowly without sudden stops, that way everyone can see what you're doing. 😄
