As a videographer myself, I'd like it if you would have the camera more zoomed in so that you and what you are doing fills the frame! This would help the viewers to be more engaged in the action and get less distracted by the roof, and the rest of the shop around you! It can be hard to see all of the little things you do to the wood as you bend it when the shot is so zoomed out at times! Other than that I think you are doing a great!!
Hey Monty, greetings from upstate New York! Great video! My father is a luthier who builds everything from guitars to hurdy gurdys, but he primarily builds Appalachian mountain dulcimers. We are currently working on producing a documentary about his work (I'm a filmmaker too!) I love seeing you documenting and talking about the craft, makes me feel right at home! Thanks!

Maybe use it as intro and outro. Just thoughts.
I cringed when I heard that crackling sound. Fingers crossed it WAS just the springs. :) Question, when you spritzed the wood before wrapping in foil, did you spritz both sides or just the top? Thanks for another great video. I'll probably never make a guitar, but your wood working tips can be used in so many applications!
Won't it be easier to soak the wood pieces in some sort of oil based liquid (or oil water combo solution), to make the wood soft and malleable then shape and hold it till it's dry? The steam does it faster, but it's very risky, as, if you go too fast (with curving its sides) before the moisture has penetrated the wood, you can snap the wood...observations from a non guitar maker :)
By spraying Super Soft 2 the wood bends like butter at around 250 degrees or a little less. The water I spray is to keep it from burning. The wood is very thin.
Monty, life is too short for 12 strings, and cutting your own kerfing. Why not purchase from StewMac or Luthier's Mercantile? Think of all the time you'll have left over for tea!
You are correct, but I wanted to show the process. I bent one piece yesterday just to see what would happen. If it doesn't work I'll order some reverse kerning.

Used the bandsaw on the first piece then shaped them with a router using the first one as a template.
So amazed by this bending method, great.

Once I had it break at the waist but didn't know it until I removed it in pieces. lol
