And just like that the last scene of S2 has been retconed out ..... my greatest issue with especially P2 of S2 going for nice scene and sacrificing character and world consistency multiple times.
That said nothing like that here so far .... the episode was great ....

pacing was fine
Even some of the minor additions the anime made to flesh out scenes like the other group reaction to what Diablo was doing in the other carriage was good.
So EP 1 was excellent so far
The 7 Primordials ... the original 7 Demons ... the oldest and strongest Demons in existence ... they are all powerful, egoistic, and arrogant .... even being able summoning one with its full strength makes the summoner a scary being .... but then this pinnacle of demons humbling himself to become a mere servant .... and then being named and the namer not being crimpled by mana loss .... that goes from scary ... past terrifying ... and nightmare inducing right into ... mind-breaking fear .... and Razen knows all op this that he states that that is the more terrifying fact
Higher level demons choose to come, summoner don't get to chose any specific demon to summon.
Also Diablo isn't in full power even with a name a body made of 20k human body.

While Demon is the proper translation a better fitting name for Diablo and his kind would be Devil ...as they are in nature closer to DnD/Pathfinder Devils ...
Meaning they are all about Power Hierarchy, Contracts and Legalese ...
Meaning if the summoner does not have the needed power they will not show up and even if the threshold is somewhat met if the amount does not seem enough or a contract with a fitting compensation is not presented they will just kill the summoner and go back
And regarding the power requirements even summoning a lesser demon is enough to drain a A Rank adventurer as seen with the Guy who tests Rimuru in the Blumund Adventurer Guild ...
Summoning a greater deamon you either need a powerful magical artifact multiple casters or the summoner has to have a vast amount of magic to do so ...
But as Guy states when Berreta came to ask to be able to assist Rimuru during the Fight with Clayman, the Black lineage is a bit different as they are basically a bunch of eccentric weirdos >D
So for them they need something to catch their interest to be summoned even if the power is enough but can also force themselves into a summon if their interest is caught.
But again if the summoner does not have enough magical power even if they for a contract they basically die immediately after ... as seen in the S1 extra episode with Diablo and Sizune ...
I am not sure where you are getting the idea he is not at full strength ... as what limits demons in the material world is not power but time ... as spiritual beings the constructed bodies deteriorate quickly as the provided power dissipates ... this can be extended by providing things like corpses but the time extended depends on the power of the greater the power the faster the body is worn down ... this can be providing a magically resistant and accommodating body like the Magisteel doll provided for Berreta ... or providing a large amount of magic and a large amount of corpses that the limitation becomes broken like with Diablo ... Evolving also allows the demon to more permanently bond with its material body ... see Guy and Orthos
in addition Evolving makes the demon break through the ceiling of their power this is true even for Primodials .... as we are told in Guys backstory and confirmed in Vol 11 will put the spoiler at the end can ignore if you want to
But as people forget as Rimuru makes it look effortless.
To make a powerful being evolve by naming you need to have more magical force than the target and even then it will eat into your max mana limit.
So naming a being close to your level can leave the one giving the name crippled as we are shown in Vol 8, will see in this season.

in Vol 11 Diablo confronts Guy and they have a go at one another as Guy is thinking if he should get involved in the fight going on with Chronoa afterwards he basically storms into Tempest demanding an explanation regarding Diablo as he realized in their fight that Noir evolved as he is is now Stronger than he was and should be ...
The the 3 Cars also comment on Noir being stronger now its a big reason why they come to take a look at Rimuru and agree to serve him.
We were told that Naming can cause the max magic power one has to decrease all the way back in vol 2 if I remember correctly but we never really saw it have this effect until we meet the Tengu leader Kaede in Vol 8 and we learn she lost most of her power when she named her Daughter Momoji
the flex in this episode is wild
