i type in enter, 1,2, 3 etc: nothing happens. Atem is running, Elgato Profile is set to Atem setup (something you do not mention) and nothing happens? Any ideas?
@@AJaytheCEO still nothing happening. It all seems a waste of money to me, yet, you, and thousands of others can stream. I have a latency lag when using the Atem mini too. It is all a complete nightmare. Yet, everyone says it is all really, really easy. As with all of this gear, it is easy if you read the manuals, watch thousands of hours of video, read hundreds of posts on forums and more! perhaps I need to just package it all up and ship it back. I even posted a query on the BMD forum, offering a paid consultation, to set it up face to face but socially distanced, or, via Zoom. 36 views, not one reply. These communities want you just to shut it, watch videos like yours, and get on with it on one's own. No one is geared up to help on a one to one basis. You are trying to help, but, the hardware just does not function like you say. Thanks anyway.
@@time-lordtv the ATEM software has to be 'in-focus' when you click the stream deck key (or run the hotkey) otherwise it is just like pressing a 1 and nothing will happen - the recommendation would be to use companion to connect the streamdeck with the atem or to use something like window mover in a multi action switch to ensure your elgato has the atem controller software 'in-focus' - then in the next step of the multi action key - add the hot-key
Hi Ajay, I have problem connecting Atem Television Studio HD with Elgato hd60s+. The elgatohd60+ perfectly works when directly connected to the camera but it does not pass signal when I using Atem Television Studio HD. we need the Atem switcher because we use multicamera. The laptop recognise Elgato HD60s+ and also the OBS. but still cannot passing signal, Only black. I installed all Elgato hd60s+ software, try from default setting until custom setting still blank. for information: from camera we use Atem switcher than go to converter next go to Elgato hd60+ finally go to laptop. This setting works if we use EZcap 287 but not for Elgato hd60s+. Can you help us?
I just used Companion for the first time recently on a 4 camera shoot. I don't have a stream deck yet but I used the web emulator mode on an old android tablet that I mounted on a convenient stand. Just setup my camera selections and transitions and it worked great. I could physical run my two main cameras at the rear with out having to reach for the controlling laptop. Other two cameras where on wireless PT heads. Could run the whole shoot from one standing position. I am looking forward to getting a real stream deck soon to see how that works out. But the companion software has been great so far. Not just to operate the ATEM, but my Atomos recorder as well and vMix.
@Thomas Lefotu Hey there! The PT heads I use are a story by themselves. They have been heavily customized and modified. Basically I took existing PT heads, in my case I started with Bescor MP-101's. Later some old panasonic wv-pf10's found on ebay. Even and old AW-PH300 in one case. Gutted all the electronics out of them leaving just the motors. Installed an RC receiver and motor ESC boards. (The same kind you find in RC Planes, Drones, etc.) Now I control the heads with a standard RC transmitter. The electronics don't know the difference. RC aircraft or PT head. A motor is a motor. Benefits include full motion control and speed control from 0-100%. Drawbacks, no way to set preset positions but it works fine for me. Very smooth at all speeds. As for lens control, a special adapter cable between the RC receiver and the camera's remote Jack that allows me to control Zoom and record stop/start on cameras with LANC like Sony and Canons.. For my Panasonic's, Zoom, Iris, focus, auto and manual selection as well as record stop/start. All from controls on the RC transmitter. As for IP control of the Atomos. When I first bought it, I knew it had an ethernet interface but at the time, no proper gui or web interface yet. I was hoping they would come out with something in a firmware update to provide that. The never did. It uses a protocol designed for commercial entertainment systems and recording decks (the name escapes me now.) Anyway, I was so happy when I found out companion supports that protocol. Didn't waste any time in testing it out. Sadly the command set available is woefully simple. Play, Record, maybe a clip select command. Basically just transport commands. Not worth much to me. I don't even remember a command to select which deck to work with. So I have put aside IP control of the deck for now. Still hoping Atomos will put out a firmware update that would give you a web interface and full (or at least allot more control) over the many functions and settings in the deck. I on a high note, my family gave me a Stream Deck for Christmas so I will be trying it out. Nice to see all the ATEM controls I setup for the table emulator popped right up on the Stream Deck the first time I plugged it in and started companion.
Does anyone know an alternative to companion? Don't get me wrong, it will do all the things I want, but since a run a mobile setup, it's not always feasible to run an Ethernet cable in order to get the ATEM and stream deck on the same network.

I'm having trouble going "backwards" with macro's. I'm using a Stream Deck with an ATEM Mini and I'm running the Companion Software. I have a three-camera setup and just a few settings. 1. Intro: static image followed by camera 1 with a key'd green screen 2. Camera 1 green screen with static image behind 3. Camera 2 no green screen 4. Camera 3 no green screen 5. End static image followed by fade to black. The problem is with the macro's I have created that sometimes the key'd greenscreen is there when I don't want it to be. I have to switch back and forth between camera's 1,2 and 3 and I want camera one to always show the keyed green screen, but not any of the others.
You need to add the left and right arrow key shortcuts as buttons on the stream deck but you will need to have powerpoint up so that the commands are passed to powerpoint and not another program.
Got my ATEM Mini up and running but my Stream Deck CTL-# hotkey only works with ATEM Control Software on top (won't work minimized as you suggested which is what I need). Any ideas why this is?
Do you have stream deck setup with app specific profile switching? Meaning the stream deck changes depending on which program is in focus? That could be the problem

I'm trying to find a way to use Stream Deck with the ATEM Mini Pro without the need of companion. I feed my ATEM to OBS for the livestream as a bunch of things are done via OBS for more options on cutting to pre-recorded clips, etc. But I still want to control functions on the ATEM using the stream deck as well. Since we can't run Companion and Stream Deck Software at the same time without conflict, I have been investigating how to make Stream deck control ATEM macros. I like what you have done here with basic keyboard commands (but may also conflict with OBS keyboard commands, need to investigate that.) I wonder if the ATEM Mini Macros can be fired using hot key combinations like CTRL-SHIFT-WHATEVER that would not interfere with OBS. Thoughts?

@@scouter-xn6zi i came to the conclusion that i could do everything i wanted to do with the stream deck software in Companion. There is also an option for a stream deck plugin in companion.
Cool video but I'm struggling to see the benefit of using the streamdeck w/ the Atem. It seems like Atem is all you need and the steamdeck is just doing duplicative things
You have to press a button on your Atem to trigger the same sequence on our StreamDeck. By moving the buttons to your StreamDeck, you no longer have to engage with the device during your live stream.

Bmd, had it deep in the manual for the switcher. 123 to switch and then I believe alt or ctrl 123 for live

How are connecting the atem HD? Or only has an SDI program or and the hdmi is input only except for the multi view

Yes you can. The Companion app will give you the most features

@@chulew it wouldn't. It would cause issues. That was just my first thought on what could be causing the issue
