Very informative and even though every RIU resort are similar, it is good to see the lay out at the Bahamas. With the Atlantis being a non exclusive resort with higher price rooms with inflated food prices, the RIU seems like the go to place. You can get a day pass for the Atlantis aquarium or go after 6pm for free.
I just booked a five night stay here in August. First time out of country and first time on a plane! Hoping it doesnt rain a lot!!! Thanks for the video helped decide my booking.
We’ve stayed at Atlantis, and sometimes they have Really good deals with the basic dining plan that may equal the Riu. Great to know that Riu is so close Atlantis as an alternative. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this detailed video it really helped us prior to booking our quick getaway. We stayed at the Riu from 3/29/22-4/1/22. Overall, we had a great time and will return in the future after experiencing other places.
Make sure that when you book your Ocean Front room, they don’t change it to an Ocean view or Pool view room. I’ve been there twice, they did it twice, had to argue for them to give me the correct, more expensive room. They always made me keep the lesser room for one night, move the next day to the proper room, and credit me with something worthless, like a credit on an overpriced massage, when I would prefer a cash refund or the correct room the same day. Also, sitting on the balcony, you may notice some off-putting cesspool type smells. The food is very good. You have to get up early in the morning to wait in line to make a reservation for a restaurant if you don’t want to eat the buffet meals, which are very good.
@@WherewegoingNext What good is making an appt on an app when the chances are they won’t honor they reservation you paid for in full? For the room you paid for?
Thanks so much, this was very informative. I was thinking of booking here for June of this year but I am unsure about the weather in June as I have been told it can get stormy. The hotel itself looks like fantastic value for money. I can't believe that it's all inclusive and has so much variety in eateries and even an all day snack bar. The prices at the Atlantis are so bad that you could spend thousands on food and drink, so this hotel looks perfect. It's modern and has a good location and lots to offer. Easy to pop over to Atlantis too, which is great :-)
Great content! The only thing missing was inside the guest room. Thanks for clarifying the elevators are for guest use as some travel sites mention there are no elevators. Which restaurant do you recommend for the fish fry and conch salad? Are there other restaurants or activities off the resort that you recommend?
They usually have conch salad/conch fritters at the buffet 👍🏻 the fish fry is an outdoor food vendor area outside of the resort - you can get there by taxi. There are lots of excursions you can book through the resort - or our favourite thing to do is visit the Atlantis resort next door. They have a casino, aquarium and water park 👍🏻 you can purchase a day pass to enjoy the activities there.
It was warm at the beginning of our 7 day trip and then cooled down the last 2 days. You can monitor the weather network to see if it will be warm enough for you 🤷🏼♀️
Not sure what you mean by a resort fee 🤔 we didn’t have to pay anything like that at the RIU. We just booked a package that included hotel, flights and transfers and there were no other charges to pay at the resort. You would only pay extra for any excursions you want to do or any souvenirs 👍🏻
Be ready to get up very early in the morning and wait in line to book a reservation for a restaurant. I despised this because people go on vacation to relax and get up late, not 6-7am…
We just visited the RIU in Costa Rica. They advertise 24 hour room service, but when we got there we found they did not offer that. Is 24 hour room service offered here?
Could you explain how many days you stayed what was the pricing for the Covid vaccine if you stayed for 4 days leaving on a 5th did you have to take a test on the 5th day or could you test on the 4th day for the 5th day
The Covid testing is different for every country. For us in Canada, we needed a negative PCR test no older than 3 days.. but I believe for the US it has to be a negative antigen test no older than 24 hours before departure. The price for a PCR test was $120 USD and the antigen test was $25 USD. Always check the regulations in your country before travelling, as things change all the time.
We like Atlantis better - but it’s significantly more expensive and is not all-inclusive… that’s why we stay at RIU and just visit Atlantis when we want.
Atlantis is much more updated, but extremely crowded with tourists, very commercial with stores, and very expensive. The RIU is cheaper but older , yet updated, more private, quiet.
Yes, the hotel has scuba diving excursions 👍🏻 Andrew went scuba diving with sharks in the Bahamas with a company called “Stuart Cove’s” 🙌🏻 here’s the link to the video th-cam.com/video/UM6zxmg97YA/w-d-xo.html
I was there in early May. Great food, entertainment, and people but the location is too isolated. Good pools and beach. No shops in hotel and only one overpriced little convenience store across the street. It's also too far away from the Atlantis and Nassau. No public transportation and cabs are too expensive. It cost me $10 to get to Atlantis and $20 to get to Nassau. Bahamian and US dollars are equal. Hotel is somewhat run down. Rooms are too small. No bathtub. Shower difficult to use and towels are of poor quality and sometimes frayed.
I didn't really like this hotel, we only went so we could go to the Atlantis and not spend Atlantis money tbh. Looks at lot different from when I went though they must've updated.
One of the most thorough reviews I’ve ever watched. Thank you

Wow! We haven’t seen any deals that great, but will def keep looking. We love Atlantis and can’t wait to stay there!
Riu never fails!! I stayed at the Riu in Cabo! It was a wonderful experience.
We loved the RIUs in Cabo as well 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I really enjoyed this video. You did such a great job explaining things during the tour. You answered many of the questions I had. Thank you!
Aw thank you!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I agree. Thanks

Thanks for the video, I was debating between the Riu and the Warkwick and I guess Riu is the winner!

Wow, they remodeled the whole place. I was there 2010….😂😂😂 first time at all inclusive and I’m hooked. Better than cruising
Agreed 🙌🏻

You can NOW make reservations on the app - you didn’t use to!

Great video. Did you happen to go over to Atlantis for a day and how much was it.
Thank you! Yes, it’s around $200 USD to get a day pass 👍🏻

Yes, it’s a great value for the money if you’re looking to spend time at Atlantis 👍🏻
It’s actually better deal than stupid Atlantis
so are the restaurants are apart of the all inclusive? or is the food tab separate?
Nope, they’re all included 👍🏻👍🏻
Great content! The only thing missing was inside the guest room. Thanks for clarifying the elevators are for guest use as some travel sites mention there are no elevators. Nope, they are all included 👍🏻
Hi,
Heading their in 10 days .. how is the weather and is it warm or should we postpone it for March or April
Please let me know
Thank you
It was warm at the beginning of our 7 day trip and then cooled down the last 2 days. You can monitor the weather network to see if it will be warm enough for you 🤷🏼♀️
I didn't see lounge chairs on the beach? is there any?
Yes, the staff members will set them out for you in the morning. They just get collected and stacked at the end of the day.
Was the steakhouse included in all inclusive ? The ribeye?
Yes it is included 👍🏻 I don’t remember if they had ribeye on the menu though 🤔🤷🏼♀️
How did you get from the RIU to the Atlantis? Is it walking distance (how long) or did you take a taxi?
Yes it’s walkable 👍🏻 I think it’s around 15 mins
staying here in june i cant wait
Have a great time!! ☺️👍🏻
Hello how was the weather in June?
Old video but, when they say all inclusive. Do they litteraly mean all inclusive or is it just certain things
Everything except for excursions 👌🏻
Great video...,I truly enjoy it! What is the rate? How much do they charge per night (alll inclusive)?
Thank you....!
Thanks for watching! The rates depend on when you are travelling. You can visit their website to book, or through a third party site, like Expedia 👍🏻
Do you know how much the day pass is to the aqua park by chance?
It was around $150-$200 usd depending on the day you go.
Surf n turf with lobster an extra charge or is it good with all inclusive?
If it is on the menu at one of the ala carte restaurants, then it is usually included 👍🏻
Can you get room service of all the resturants without a reservation? Im going on April!
No, there is a separate room service menu.
Hi! Did you purchase a day pass to Atlantis? If so, what was the cost? Thanks in advance!
Yes we did! It was around $150 USD per person. I believe it’s closer to $200 USD on weekends.
If you want to just walk around the Atlantis, which is fun, you can without cost. The Aquarium is free.
What does that get you
It gives you access to the outdoor spaces - the beach, pools and water park 👍🏻
Hi! What transportation did you take to go to and from the airport?
Ours was organized through our vacation package. You can google airport shuttle or just get a taxi or Uber to the hotel 👍🏻
Just curious. Is there resort fee? And how much? First time doing an all inclusive

Hi there thanks for your review. some ppl say you have to book a reservation for restaurants otherwise u cant even go in, is that true?
Yes, you have to book your reservations in advance- they no longer take walk-ups 🤷🏼♀️

January, 2022 👍🏻
Is it ONLY Japanese food?? Count me out if so lol
The buffet has a large variety of food 👍🏻 but yes, the Japanese restaurant only has Japanese food.
Why was it so windy
That’s how the weather was that day 🤷🏼♀️

Yes 👍🏻
