An excellent example of why grapples have become the #1 desirable loader attachment with a 3rd function kit. Really superb photography and perfectly matched music. Keep it up. Regards from central Ontario Canada.

That grapple has to be the finest ting since sliced bread. Never had one or maybe I would not be so broke down in my old age. lol

Did the same thing years ago only without the grapple. Used a bush hog and big grass rake after. Makes a nice walking path. Nice job.

I have the same tractor. I'm planning on installing a 3rd function valve and getting a grapple. What make of 3rd function do you have? Did you install it yourself? What grapple do you have? Thanks

    • @falllineridge

Haven't been using the kiln. It dries lumber well, but is difficult to use. I designed it poorly. It was a good learning experience.

Hey , great video. Maybe I missed it, but could you please tell us the model of the Construction Attachments grapple ? Also the weight of it , and if you think it is the perfect weigh/size grapple for your Kubota L4701 ? I have a Kubota L6060, 60 hp (about 2200lb) lift capacity and I'm considering buying the Construction Attachment Root Grapple model 1RGW66. the weight is 794 lb, which is a lot, but still only 200 lb more than the smaller grapple. Does the extra 200lb out front make that much difference to the loader longevity or do you just lose an additional 200lb from your load capacity ? Any thoughts, or who I might contact for the final word on the subject ? It seems it's almost a "oil question", which is best and why ! ha. The brochure says the grapple is for 50-100 hp tractors. What to do ? Thanks for your time and the great videos. They must be time consuming to make. I barely get around to taking a picture of a job. They are nice to have 20 -50 years later !

I'm confused,, almost every one that has one of those Kubots's operates it at , what sounds like maximum revs. Why ??? I've been driving tractors unaccompanied since 1958 and never one revolution more than I need ???

Hey Rob, I don't. Videoing everything adds 2-4 times the amount of time it takes to do a project. Thankfully I don't film every single thing I do here! It's all worth it in the end product though.

Reminds me of what we did on my dad's farm long ago...but it was in Kansas, and through a large stand of black locusts (American Ironwood), and those thorns go through the thickest of boot soles lol. We did a lot more by hand back then, and as kids, we usually had the job of dragging the brush to the burn pile. Great video. :)

Oh and one more thing cut some criss cross patterns on the stumps you left behind in the ground. It will rot out and smoothen out faster to drive over. 1 inch Square patterns.

Caution; never use the bucket fully tilted to rake the ground, if you hit a stump or catch the bucket on something solid you could blow the threads out of the cylinders. Really enjoy your videos. Peace and prosperity.

Love that song at the end. Who?
Used the term "windfall" all my life. Never understood it's root. I am thinking trees were lots of work to cut down 150 years ago. When one fell by the wind it was generally a good fortune. Much easier to get to the wood.

    • @ceselb

I know this is an old video but still, if you stack the dead fall in a certain place and throw some cover on em it makes a great home for all kinds of wildlife like salamanders ad different decomposing bugs which are great food for turkeys so if you want to add more wildlife to your property you should dl that too, if that is an area that you don't burn too often. If you do burn you'll just get rid of em rotten ol trees
