So good to see you back Lucy.
Condolences on the loss of your Nan.
I lost mine three years ago last Thursday, which is about when this video went up. We try to still talk about her and include what she would have said into conversations. On the first birthday without her we had a cram tea in her honour. She’s gone, but not forgotten.
Congratulations on starting movement and on writing. So proud of you.
Congratulations to Adam too on the job.
I know what you mean about the kitchen and delays. I need a new kitchen as the one in this house was falling apart when I moved in. Six months ago I to replace the built in cooker which had become unsafe, so I bought the cooker I wanted rather than a stop gap. Massive lead time. Had to demolish the kitchen. There are now no cupboards in their original location with the exception of the sink unit. Its like a load of missing teeth….. and of course I can’t afford to replace everything now so will have to wait till I have the money and then for the lead time. So glad I’m not having to do windows. Good luck with that.
Wish this was a two way conversation too. I did my best!

I went thru a spell of not watching YT at all (because of stress, not bc lack of content/interest) and started catching up with people I missed. Your channel was top of my list & when I saw there were only 3/4 videos on yours I panicked, went to IG, and had to make sure you hadn't "quit" while I wasn't looking. (Two people I watched regularly did. 🙁) I'm glad you posted & glad you are working on things you love, like your book & crossstich, reading. I love the content you put out & your personality is refreshing. Sending good vibes to all! 💚🧚‍♀️🔮

LUCYYYYYYY!! So happy to get this notification! I legit teared up when you spoke about writing your book and the huge accomplishment it is to create an entire fictional world and write the words “the end.” That, my friend (can I call you that even though we’ve never met? 😹 I feel like we’d be friends in real life 😬😽), is so fricken inspiring and beautiful and really hit me in the soul. So happy you’re doing it and that you’re back! Yayyy! 🖤

I'm totally with you, not kidding when I say the peloton has changed my life. My relationship with exercise now comes from such a place of love and fun. We've only had ours since December but for me and my partner it's made a huge difference to our lives.

If you want to buy a big cross stitch then heaven and earth designs are really beautiful and really big. Also there is a thing called flosstube on yt where people talk about their cross stitch pieces. Maybe that could be your cup of tea or you can get some inspiration for your next cross stitch piece.

Yaaaaaay! Hi Lucy, so good to see you!! (Also, I feel like "Am I being to weird?" is the best sign for you being on the right track 🙏)
Also, quick edit as someone who's gone through a spell of dizziness as well: Mine was caused by extremely cramped and tense neck muscles from working too much at my desk and not doing enough stretching and exercise to counterbalance it. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I came up with the premise of a book and then laughed at the idea of me writing a book (I'm in med school and suck at writing 3-page essays). I am amazed by anyone's brain who can organize a story, dialogue, character development. That is such an astounding skill! I cannot wait to see the kitchen reno. I have loved watching everything you have done to your adorable bungalow

Welcome back Lucy! Love seeing you (and the ever-gorgeous Flo) back. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, that's really hard, sending lots of love. I hope also you feel better very soon, it sounds as though you've had a rough time of it.
Well done on continuing to write your book, that's amazing motivation no matter what speed you do it at. Keep going! :)
On a slightly different note, as a Brit who travelled back and forth to New England on and off for a few years, I can confidently recommend New England in the autumn / fall, it's gorgeous. No matter when you get the chance to go, you'll love the season there, promise. Boston is an amazing city, but there's a lot of gems outside it as well.
Hope this isn't too cheeky, but thought I'd share a few recommendations of things I loved that you and Adam might as well:
    - Salem on Halloween is a very busy but memorable experience. If you opt to go at that time, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the view of it, the lights that are strung about are so pretty. It's a definite bring your camera occasion.
    - Honestly though, I recommend seeing Salem on quieter days too. A lot of people miss out on it when it isn't spooky season, and it's beautiful. Make sure to drop by Harrison's Comics, it's wonderful in there.
    - Hot apple cider donuts. Incredible during the fall season. If you see them anywhere made fresh, try them, it's a zero regrets sort of situation.
    - If you like a bit of a drive, head for Shelburne Falls (still Massachusetts) and see the Bridge of Flowers. It's at its best in spring, but it's still a gorgeous view in the fall and wonderful to walk around the village.
    - I also recommend stopping by Bernie's Dining Depot in Chicopee for excellent prime rib amongst other dishes. It's an experience in itself because the seating is inside a converted train car!
    - Other interesting things in the area: Howe Caverns in nearby Schoharie County (New York state) is a lot of fun and really interesting to look at. I also strongly recommend visiting Emily Dickinson's homestead (Amherst, MA, also a lovely place to eat and walk around), the Mark Twain House and Museum (Hartford, Connecticut, not that far away) and Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House (Concord, MA, where she wrote and set Little Women).
Wishing you and Adam and Flo and family all the best!

"I never said it's gonna be cool around here." Excuse me, your mug, your humour, cross stitching, your outfit, a bookclub, writing your own book (and all your thoughts around it), wanting to visit boston in the fall ... it's like hearing myself talk and I've finally found someone who is just like me! I am so excited and grateful for TH-cam that it suggested this video to me! Definitely subscribed now! Thank you for this lovely chat and I'm looking forward to the next videos. :)

If you ever publish fiction I will definitely buy and read it because I love your brain and humour but also because it would be a great way for me to support someone who has given me a lot of joy over the years. (It isn’t like fiction but I’m currently working on my MA in history and writing the ~100 pages I have to finish for June gives me that same feeling of satisfaction some days… and the next day it all feels like a bunch of nonsense.) Sending love as always ❤️

  • @cindyarrington6787
    @cindyarrington6787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

First, it's wonderful to see you!
Second...I can so relate to the wait time for EVERYTHING! Our stove died and we were lucky enough to get one, delivered broken, sent back and unable to get another for three months. Ended up with a more expensive one because they were in stock:( But when you have a family to feed... The sales person said at least we didn't need a freezer...wait time, 6 months.
As for the book...don't ever think you won't deliver a wonderful effort. Look at J.K. Rowling...Deb Harkness. When there is a fire burning inside to create, do it for you with no regrets. I'm sure it will be wonderful.
Can't wait for the new kitchen and what ever content you want to put out, I'll be there!

Literally minutes before my Nanna's funeral a squirrel fell onto the power lines and blew all of the eletrics at the funeral parlor. We were waiting outside to go in and suddenly heard a bang like a gunshot that made us shit our pants. Ended up having to wait it out at the pub with the hopes it would still be able to happen that day which it thankfully did. At the time it was mildly traumatising but we took as one last weird gag Nanna played on us, she had a very odd sense of humour and likely would've found the whole thing hilarious. Grief is weird.

I loooved using the peloton app. I was doing it pretty consistently, but over the summer I went through a very traumatic death in my family and my grief has just taken all my motivation to get on my stationary bike. I know starting it up again will only be positive but I'm just still so down that anything other than laying on my couch sounds like running a marathon. Hoping that I can get back into it this year. Hearing you talk it up makes me want to start again!

So happy to have this video to watch. Always worth the wait. I saved it to watch while I had my late morning coffee. 😅 It's great to hear you're writing a book. I hope you it becomes more successful than you can imagine. I love how you call it movement instead of exercise. It sounds less daunting that way. My boyfriend got a peloton last year and I don't think either of us have been on it in the last 6 months. I keep meaning to though so I'll need to look up some classes soon. My good news is I got back home to see some family and friends for my 30th last week and also got engaged at the same time which I really wasn't expecting. ☺I was given some money as gifts for my birthday which allowed me to sign up for a month of therapy which I've wanted to do for ages. I had my first session yesterday which is great. I'm excited for some self improvement in the coming months. I hope your dizzy spells take a hike and leave you able to do what you want and need with no bother. Have a great day! 🙂

Very intrigued on the novel front, much like everyone else in the comments I’d have no hesitation in buying and reading anything you’ve written!
Congrats to Adam on the new job too 💕

So lovely to watch a Lucy video ☺️. Glad you’re ok (sorry to hear about your Nan 😔). Excited to hear your plans for this year and look forward to watching it unfold. And good for you starting the book! I honestly hadn’t twigged from your stories! X

If you go to New England, you should definitely try to go to Portland, Maine!! It’s beautiful and has a lot of great restaurants. It’s only a couple of hours from Boston.

Lucy! I think our stars are aligning. I have got into movement in the last year too (specifically weight lifting of all things) and I’m like you- my brain just clicked and now I’m hooked and I love exercising after a lifetime of resisting it. I am also trying to write my first book this year, and I’m so proud of you for pursuing this goal of yours. It’s such an intimidating idea, so thank you for talking about it, it was inspiring and motivating to hear. Also I just love that you found a BF who looks like Harry Potter and works for Disney- dreams really do come true 😂
Big love to you and Adam and Flo ❤️

Just finished your video. So sorry to hear about your nan ❤️ It's never easy when you lose someone you love. Huge congrats to Adam on his new job! How amazing does that sound?! I bet Flo is loving all of your pompoms 🤣 I am a few years older than you and started writing a book years ago. Then marriage and kids came along and I haven't picked it up in a looong while. One day... I'm sure your book will be totally awesome and, I for one, would read it x

So happy to see a video from you! Im so sorry to hear about your Gran. Sending you love.
I HIGHLY encourage you to visit New England in the fall. I’m a southern New Hampshire native and, while the “leaf peepers” can cause annoying traffic, it really is so beautiful here in the fall. Central to northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine and western Massachusetts are some of the best spots to take in the seasonal colors. Boston is a great city too.
I’d love to hear you share your journey with movement. It’s a journey that I’ve started in earnest this year and it’s been really helpful for my mental health.
    Stay well!

Yes please to a Peloton video!! I had mine delivered this week and honestly it was because of you that I thought of it as an option. I also have a strained relationship with "exercise" so really hopeful that the fun element of the classes will help me. As well as classes you love, I would love your recommendations for making the seat more comfortable 🤣

Been rewatching your Disney vlogs while feeding my new baby girl, so excited to hear from you again! Tip for New England in fall - definitely go a little later than you’d think! I went early October and was bummed not to see many orange leaves. But we loved it, especially Maine!

Native Bostonian here to agree with this. Later October/earlier November is better for aesthetics. But the closer to Halloween the crazier Salem is, which isn’t a huge deal for a lot of people but worth noting imo.

Oh Lucy! I had the exact same thing last year... (Also watched a lot of diagnosis murder in my time ❤️, in fact, there was a time I felt totally better but really faked still feeling ill so I could watch the 2nd half of a two-parter...! Wasn't missing that for the world!!!)
It definitely got better, so I hope you feel more yourself really soon. It was so horrible. ❤️❤️❤️

Yayy so happy to hear you might be coming to Boston!! FYI, Salem has all the vibes in the fall but it's VERY VERY BUSY. But in general New England is the best and so pretty in the fall :)
