"Ecru" (A-kroo) is just the name of a color. I don't know why it was never assigned a number like every other color in the rainbow, but it's just a very light beige color, often used as a "skin tone". The cotton string I used to use to crochet doilies came most commonly in "white" or "ecru" - which is just an "off-white". The word "Ecru" is actually french, meaning raw or unbleached. Hope that helps!

So if you put the red wax in the new pen…it won’t steal your wax while you work with ABs! Ecru…hard U Ec-Rue… is just a color. It’s a very common cross-stitch thread/fabric.
