or when he said they want me gone meaning they want his ADHD which is part of him he accept to live with it that bring us to where he said I feel like I'm dying on the inside which is again a reference to the ADHD there is a lot of thing in both the intro and the second part that explain a lot about ADHD I don't have ADHD but my best friend was diagnosed with and he most of the times have a hard time focusing on one thing.

Just so your aware Joyner is not “conforming to the industry”, he said this album is from the heart and doesn’t care if people like it or not.
I have ADD ADHD AND OCD. Example, whenever I see an accident when I’m driving I automatically assume it’s someone I care about and then I get the urge that I have to reach out and make sure people are ok.. I can go on and on.. it IS an issue. I also have a ton of energy. Eating right, working out and reading can help it. I know my fellow people who are experiencing the same thing understand exactly what I am saying.

This video is so symbolic and a great representation of what having ADHD is like. You can't focus on any one thing, and your brain is constantly bouncing around.
The part that hits the truest is the end, where he takes the pill. The thing that drives him nuts and makes him unable to sleep is the same thing that drives his creativity. As soon as he takes that pill so he can sleep, his verses are done and he goes straight out. It's a hard balancing act for people with ADHD. You have to find a medium somewhere between going nuts and being a zombie.

I do have ADHD and aspergers no meds tried didnt like what they did and just in time and lots hardships trials errors hurting and learning everyday I'm figuring out how to make it each day. My social skills face to face are trash but I'm able to get to where its alot less notocible because run through crazy amount of checklists in my head. And sports and exercise and music helps me out alot too absolutly essential.
Pops is on point, so is Moms! When I was a kid they said I had "ADHD" and they put me on Ritalin, during one day at school it sent my body into shock and I started to shake uncontrollably. They changed my diet, had me take supplements and took me off the Ritalin and it chilled me out, I to this day the "ADD" which sticks with you... But the "ADHD" wasn't what I had! There's a huge difference between children being kids and a child that actually HAS adhd - our brains are legit different if you look at all the studies on how it's visible via MRI. That's why he shows him going into an MRI.

And ADHD can be observed in your brainwaves. I have adult ADHD and with the right dosage aderall has really helped my life. I learned I had it after a brain scan because I couldn’t sleep.

I got ADD. It's just like ADHD. It's hard to stay focused. I always forgot to do my homework even when I made sure it was the only thing I was thinking about when I was walking home. My teacher was convinced I did it in purpose. as a kid I always lost my favorite toys and got really angry at myself. It's hard for me to explain things to people because it's a constant chaos inside my head and there's a lot of things I want to get out at once and I can't even focus when I'm speaking. I get sidetracked and end up repeating myself often. The only difference between ADD and ADHD is the hyperactivity. If you got ADD you're less active then normal. You talk less, you're calm, you don't have as much energy as everyone else. You get mentally worn-out quickly. I had headaches after math class because they put me in a room away from my classmates removing all distractions and tried to force me to focus on the one thing I find least interesting in the world. My brain constantly tried to get me to look away and the teacher sitting next to me got more and more annoyed and told me to focus and it drained all the energy out of me and I was a zombie the rest of the day.

Same I was taking 64 mg of concerta from like 9 till 18 I'm not the same but I also don't know how I would have been. I just know all the mental issues I have now could have been different. I can't say better or worse but would have been different and I would have atleast been on my own to make it. Instead of drugged
it feels good to have a voice when you feel voiceless joyner is the voice for people like me I’ve been diagnosed with adhd and ocd and when i first heard this song I was in tears. they gave me wayy to strong mg pills as a kid and they gave me less as I got older. I had a hard time making friends in middle school which made me depressed and I hated it. In high school I had some of the same struggles, but i found him my sophomore year and i put some people onto him and became close friends with them and still am as a 19yo sophomore in college. Adhd personally makes me take things like heart ache harder than others would. He has inspired me and with multiple times consulting with my doctors I’m gonna get weaned off medication and will be off of it by the end of this coming year. I love you Joyner God Bless you!

I love that girl in the background. I have ADHD. I was diagnosed when I was a kid. Like if you pay attention to Joyner Lucas song ADHD is exactly how I feel & went through. I’m still going through it. So I am gonna take medication now cause I can’t focus at all. If you look up ADHD. It says your memory gets worse & you can’t focus etc. Its a actual illness. I thought as a kid I don’t have ADHD. I can handle my own business without drugs but idk anymore. So that’s why I am gonna take it now that I am 25 trying to do college. Trying to make it in this world. I have goals. I have responsibilities. Another part of the ADHD illness is that when you are trying to multi task & you can’t handle it your brain shuts down. It’s a whole thing.

No, activity doesn't increase dopamine levels in people with ADHD. Thats the problem, and thats what medication like Adderall and Ritalin do. Increases those levels so they arnt constantly looking outwardly for a reward.

If your kid has autism and you refuse to diagnose it early on, it only becomes worse for the child. It's like cancer, the earlier you treat it, the higher chance of them recovering. I have a cousin who was treated early and another who wasn't treated at all because his parents were in denial, and there's a huge difference in both.

I think the video could be a cycle. The intro is him dreaming, saying all the shit he wants to say, getting revenge on everyone pressuring him. Then he wakes up and goes about his day, eventually having to cave into taking the medication to sleep. The medication fucks up his dream, leading right back into the intro.
I like how now that you see the video you understand the message, which tells me one thing. You're not blind, but you're deaf.
Talk about making school more fun is a good point. They do a better in other countries K-12+ education systems. I would love to see schools so well funded that it's an extension of the parents life. Not an intrusion, but more of a benefit. I would shift our economy and culture around education more. The school system would be better funded and more important than the military in my ideal world.

Idk what school pops went to, but I am a teacher and we do not administer medication to anyone. We can't even mentioned a diagnosis to a parent. The most we can do is suggest that a parent take their child to a doctor. We can get sued for even saying "your kid has (Insert diagnosis here)"

Whenever I was in school I would be more social in the morning ,and I would be talking, then an hour later I am very calm and zombie like.
Not every child is hyper active! I wasn’t jumping around at school but mine was internal! It has nothing to do with sugar it’s genetic as my entire family have it! I’ve spent my entire life undiagnosed and it’s been hell! I’m medicated now at 46 and it’s been a lifesaver for me personally! I would rather take the drugs than spend my life in complete turmoil

Hello guys, I love your channel, I am a Registered Nurse for 14yrs western medicine(USA) now has alternative medicine which is more natural (herbal) that is offered to the communities. You are correct synthesized medications eventually will cause other health problems. And the pharmaceutical companies are taken advantage but nurses and physicians are on the frontline are fighting and promoting the alternative medicine, holistic care in the hospitals, clinics and primary care offices. Educating the public of this is the key so people can take control of there own health. Preventative measures are at the forefront of western medicine recently learning from the east finally 😁
I think that the people who TRULY suffer from ADHD don't get the benefit of the doubt because of the watering down of the diagnosis given to so many people who don't have it. The baby is thrown out with the bathwater, so to speak. Joyner clearly has a hyperactive brain. This is him just coming to terms with it and letting us know that it's really something he struggles with.

I agree medication isn't always the option. But ADHD is a thing, it just gets diagnosed a bit too much for kids that don't have it. Like the person in the background said. Cause I'm an adult and my ADHD still affects my attention alot but I can usually keep it too a small degree

I think this misses the mark big time. ADHD doesn't just affect children and it still affects adults and there's more to it than this. ADHD is torture to some people, they cannot focus on the most trivial tasks in everyday life and it can lead to serious anxiety and depression. You can definitely do without medication, sure, but sometimes it is necessary. People need medication sometimes in order to keep themselves going everyday. Without it, people would be suffering worse than with it. I feel like there is a lack of education about what these drugs actually do to people and what they do with your receptors. They're beneficial way more than detrimental
