That looks similar to redmonds real salt. Which i heard it is in the range of 90 percent the strength of modern concrete. I imagine in connects with redmond real salt and willow creek salt mine/pits. Also I heard there was an open pit east of salina. Its fascinating! Also just south of this is where the wonderstone is located. Which talk about a weird rock that is, I'm not sure I'm sold on it being formed the way they say.
Yeah, it looks like there were some mine workings just across the wash, with some timbers for ore shoots or something of the sort. In that working, there is a depression that looks like water flows into it and doesn't resurface. I've wondered for a long time if there is a big salt cave under the ground there.

I have hiked up to that one hoping to find a portal. It was still awesome to check out anyway. nice little hike.
