I swear I read online upgrading these SW train levels e.g. 300 to 500 isn't advised and can brick the device, you should only update to your SW train level i.e. 300 to 390. Unless it's different and I'm wrong :D would love to know as I'm on an old 300 version
You are partially right. First of all, MHI2 units don’t have series of firmware. You can go from lowest to highest version. MST2 have series (01xx, 02xx, 03xx, 04xx, 05xx for Technisat; 02xx, 06xx, 08xx for Delphi) but without system patching it’s impossible to upgrade outside the series. Update will not be seen as valid. But with some modification it’s possible to force the unit to accept different series firmware (for example to convert 02xx to 04xx on Technisat). Some conversions are not recommended (example 01xx to anything higher) since some old units can have less RAM and or smaller eMMC which can cause system crash.

Have had 2016 Ateca from new and for last year or so Android auto keeps randomly disconnecting from any phone that's plugged in and will then only reconnect when I hold power and force reboot the unit, but few mins later it disconnects again, does it with 4x phones and several cables, hoping its a software issue, so have watched video and just updated current MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0351T to MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0369T following the video, and everything has updated fine took about 15mins, hoping this might stop the issues??
Unfortunately my upgrade did not go smoothly. I was updating a Cupra Ateca with MHI2_ER_SEG11_P4708 to the P4709 firmware. All went perfectly per the video, however all the functionality for the unit was lost (only radio works), when checking the service menu, the unit does not display and supported or installed codes. Any potential work around?
Hi. Very good video! What does the button ITR in the service menu? I pressed it on my MIB2 in Seat Leon 5F and only a „beep“ came out from the speakers. Does anybody know what this button stands for? Is there something broken down now on my unit?
Is this the right answer? I found it in another forum: I think every time you tap on the ITR menu it saves a bunch of files/dumps to the SD Card in a folder similar to "01_Export_Jan_2_2022_130108".
Hello mr-fix, I cannot update the navigation maps on my 2017 Ateca. I've tried several files from the site(s) but none seems to work. Only the P350_N60S file is read, but it shows "F" at NavDB and "F" at all the individual countries. Do I need to update the firmware first?
@@masri2019 No, the car is too old. There is code in the system which allows updates until a certain year and that's 2020 or so. I'm using Android auto now, with all the benefits of live traffic, cameras etc.

Update, install M.I.B., edit eeprom, change coding, install Middle East firmware, patch, install FECs for Middle East, format map partition, install new maps. Not sure if I mentioned all.

Chciałem pójść dalej i zaktualizować sobie mapy, bo teraz mapcare mnie blokuje ale po aktualizacji nie mogą właczyć Green Menu. Przed aktualizacją uruchomiłem je bez problemu ale po aktualizacji nie przyjmuje mi kodu 20103 ani S12345 do Dostępu upoważnionego - pracuję na VCDS v. 20.04 ale próbowałem też na starszej wersji. Możecie coś doradzić tak uruchomić Green Menu

Hi, On my 16' Leon Xperience I started an update this afternoon from mhi2_er_seg11_s2105 (0319) to MHI2_ER_SEG11_P4709_1_AIO_MU1447_20230318. During installation, only Gracenote update failed. 20 minutes later, mhi2 reboot and Seat Xperience logo appears on screen. But 3 hours later... No changes, always Seat Xperience logo  Should I wait ? Edit: 6 hours now... Nothing change 😢 Edit 2: I removed the key and lock the car... The screen stays on with Seat Xperience logo 😱 I plugged a battery charger for the night... And I pray 😥 Edit 3: It's working !!! I just removed radio fuse, wait 15s and put it. The installation has continued and I fix B201A fault code... I just wait 6 hours like that 😢

Potrzebny był VCDS i ustawienie opcje skin na off. Zawiesilo się bo radio chciało ustawić fabryczny skin radia a aktualizacja chciała zmienić na inny. Wyłączenie pomogło i aktualizacja się dokończyła bez problemu

In MST2 trains: unit will not let you install firmware outside of the series. So for example 0245 firmware is in the 02xx series, unit will not allow 03xx or 04xx or 05xx firmware installation. It's doable but it requires patching and custom installation files.

MIB main unit is not related with immobilizer. Check if you drained your battery by any chance.

In my experience: touch issues are not software related. It's just a failing hardware that will eventually stop working.

Did you use the mib-helper? …..it tells you what the newest version is, all the numbers should be the same except the ones after the letter P

Mr.Fix to confirm but I believe you must stay within the same P level. So for train 245 it is safe to update to 253 e.g. But not to go to p479.!
In MST2 trains: unit will not let you install firmware outside of the series. So for example 0245 firmware is in the 02xx series, unit will not allow 03xx or 04xx or 05xx firmware installation. It's doable but it requires patching and custom installation files.
