I love Remy. Super classy lady, well-spoken and just a real person. I love all the ladies on The Real, as well. On that note, I think it's a great idea to have this course added to our children's curriculum and the cops do need refresher courses, as well.
I think that these police classes are unfortunately needed. But cops are supposed to de-escalate not to make things worse. Cops should ultimately be the professionals and should handle situations in that manner.
loni sometimes blows me because she’ll keep repeating her point if the other girls wont elaborate or “agree” with it enough for her. Instead of also trying to see where the other girls are coming from, she’ll just reiterate her point by disregarding what they’ve all said. She makes the show hard to watch sometimes. she’ll sit there like they’re all wrong and she’s the only one right.
The whole police pulling over conversation is saddening. I am sorry that in America you see a threat in a police officer. I don't know how is it more logical to go through all of this then educating police force against bias and use of excessive force
Have your license and registration in your hand w/ your hands on the steering wheel when cops approach. This is so sad that we have to have lessons and classes to protect ourselves from those that are SWORN TO PROTECT AND SERVE.
I understand where your coming from with your advice about being pulled over but bottom line we should not HAVE to be scared, nervous, fear for our lives. Yes it may be helpful to verbalize your every move but it’s a proof that there’s something wrong with our justice system because we shouldn’t be forced to do that.
Dont tell them you are nervous!!!!! Dont even say anything just agree with them. When i first got pulled over i was 17. I actually love tapped a car on the freeway. There was a rapid stop and i didnt break fast enough. I was super nervous. And i told the cop that. It was my first "accident" first time dealing with cops. So they called my dad. My dad came. Cops talked to my dad and told them i was high!!!!!!. I didnt even smoke weed! It pissed me off. Seriously just do what they say. Talk when spoken to, but dont over explain anything . They dont care.
I grew up practicing how to behave in a traffic stop, Driver's ed, my parents, etc. I have also called 911 when alone and asked if I was being pulled over when I was alone and at night. Be calm, be safe and be slow.
Ummm... if we're gonna be real shouldn't that be apart of Driver's Ed anyway... why is it just being talked about now ?!?! I mean I'm just saying it's all apart of driving etiquette so it should an automatic part of the course! Not to mention after all the videos and stuff that we have seen of people have followed everything cautiously but yet still get shot down or killed and if we really wanna be real sometimes we get pulled over just to get pulled over even when we were following the rules of the road

In Texas, I’m pretty sure it was made a law that you have to take the class to graduate. At least I think so because I did and other schools had the policy too.
I think it’s not only training police officers but also being stricter on screening people who want to work in the police department because you can’t teach somebody you who already has a fixed preconceived mind on racist. You can influence them to not be ignorant, but the change only happens if is they recognise there’s a problem that needs solving.

I got so nervous that I was searching everywhere like my bag, clove compartment, middle console, like everywhere not realizing that it’s right In front of me. The officers were so calm and give me the time. And eventually let me go without a ticket 🙏. Not all officers are over reacting to color people. Just saying ......
They are absolutely right when it comes to the police, there are too many police officers doing the wrong thing not enough police officers doing the right
Let's be clear. This advice is necessary, but it shouldn't be. Someone shouldn't be worried that moving for your stuff is going to get you shot. The onus is on the cops.
I hate having this convo. There’s NO. ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for any innocent person to be scared when dealing with a cop. If there’s any bit of fear, why even hire them. Too many bad cops out there. And I’m not dissing all of them bc my brother is a cop. People are just disgusting.
That is abuse in power. Police can't tell you to leave if you are in a public space. He can't arrest you if he loses patience. They use their power and arrest people for no reason.

I love this topic. I am an independent associate for a wonderful company that gives you access to an attorney 24/7/365. I have been pulled over and I get on the phone with my attorney as the cop is walking up to my car window. I explain to the police office that I have my attorney on the phone so that they can hear our conversation, it is a nice service to have for a less than a $1.00 a day.
I'm from the uk. I will never take our police here for granted ever again. If you dont already know this, our police dont have guns. Only specially trained officers. I cant get my hear around feeling this nervous because a police officer has pulled you over. Just doesnt happed here.
