If Kawhi didn't get hurt, Spurs had a strong chance at winning everything. Kawhi was in MVP form and should've been MVP that season. It's forever fuck Zaza. Dirty player. But Kawhi showed his true colors and has never been as strong of a person or player since that injury.
It's crazy that the Hornets ended up with the #2 pick in two drafts with a generational prospect at #1. At least in this last draft, they didn't pick a bust like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Miller has a good chance to be the 2nd best player in this draft. But he's no Wemby. To miss out on AD and Wemby by a single pick is rough.
my biggest what if for the Nuggets is what if Michael Malone put his bench in at the end of that Nuggets vs Golden State game on April 13th 2021? The game was wraps, completely over but Murray was still in and tore his acl. That team was in great shape, and would have matched up well against Phoenix in the 2nd round that year had Murray stay healthy.
I feel like arguably just as big as Kawhi re-signing to the Raptors is what if Toronto successfully traded up in the 2013 draft and got Giannis. Realistically, it’s Toronto losing in the 2018 finals to Golden State instead of the Cavs leading them to still do the Kawhi trade. Giannis and Kawhi together would’ve been easily one of the greatest duos in nba history in 2019. Whether Kawhi would’ve stayed or not will always be a question and I think he always was going to go to LA personally but Giannis’ presence may have changed that.
As a blazers fan, the Bam one clearly hurts because while Zach Collins would have contributed if he was healthy, Nurkic breaking his leg was crushing. It was a dream season which saw us on pace to potentially beat Golden State. And said injury was the start of the Dame era blazers inevitable downfall.
I know its "since 2010" but the Blazers 2010 season would have been very different with one of two big "What If's". 1. Drafted KD over Oden. 2. Oden + Brandon Roy, stayed healthy. Im going to add a 3rd "what if" that actually applies to every season for the Blazers over the last 20ish years..... What if the Blazers got over their weirdo obsession with drafting multiple undersized guards that go at the 1 and 2?
OKC’s second biggest what if is the Roberson injury. Losing him dropped the Russ-PG teams from 1st ranked defense to 9th. He guards Mitchell and Lillard during their playoff runs.
Its absurd how bad DPOTY voting is. Its always forwards and centers, rarely a guard. Robersons defense was so good in some of those seasons, when on the floor, he created an OPPG of -18..... this dude single-handedly negated the production of nearly every teams 3rd best offensive option... but you know, its not blocks so the average consumer cant wrap their heads around it.
@@therealneal3034 i dont think he would have. Pretty much every year we see guards FAR more defensively impressive than the center or forward who gets dpoty. Did Thabo? Did AI2? The Cavs fan with Kyrie in the 2015 playoff run was a great choice, However as a Cavs fan I would always wonder what happened if the Cavs didn’t pick Anthony Bennett wit the first pick :( the 2013 draft wasn’t the strongest but they had player like McCollum and even Antetokounmp picked at 15 😭 And if Lebron still came back to Cleveland, would Giannis turn into the players he is today, in my opinion probably still yes bc Lebron woulda taught him right. And if Giannis was on the cavs in 2017/2018 I fully believe they coulda gave the warriors a run for their money and Lebron woulda most likely stayed in Cleveland and not ever went to the Lakers and then AD woulda never went to laker and the Lakers young core woulda most likely not get traded. The NBA would just look so much completely different as a whole right now.I think I’m going a lil too deep now but it is a very huge what if 😭
Also, what if they drafted someone better than Tristan Thompson to pair with Kyrie in 2011? Klay and Kawhi were on the board. If they take Klay, maybe he never pans out the way he did in GS. But at the very least, you keep him from Golden State and maybe clear the path to winning more titles with LeBron if there's no GS dynasty.
As a Bucks fan, I’ve got five of these for my hometown team, including the one in this video. I’ll do them in chronological order. - What if the Bucks got Stephen Curry in the Andrew Bogut trade instead of Monta Ellis in 2012? - What if Larry Sanders didn’t lose interest in basketball after a breakout season in 2012-13? - What if Parker never got hurt (video topic)? - What if the Bucks paid Malcolm Brogdon instead of Eric Bledsoe in 2019? - What if Khris Middleton never got hurt in 2022?
The Nuggets trade was already done beforehand. The Jazz told the Nuggets who to draft. The what if for them is Murray getting injured in 2021. For the 3 weeks after the Aaron Gordan trade, they looked unstoppable. Instead, they got 1.5 years of Facu Compazzo at the 1.
For the Clippers it's definitely what if Kawhi doesn't get injured in the semifinals. They went 6 games with Suns (almost 7) without Kawhi , imagine if Kawhi was healthy , I think they are making it to the finals in that case. The biggest "what if" wasn't Shai , because I don't think he really develops that much on the clippers
As a suns fan, I think that Chris Paul’s torn ligament in his hand along with their young core that wasn’t mature or experienced enough contributed to them blowing their finals lead. But I think the biggest what if would be if they had drafted a guard instead of trading for Chris Paul. They missed on haliburton, Jamal Murray, fox, Luka, and could’ve drafted teammates Coby white and cam Johnson in the same draft. There were so many missed opportunities by Robert sarver because he thought they didn’t need another guard because they had Booker, and as soon as they got a skilled point guard alongside him like Ricky Rubio and cp3, the team immediately became better
As a bulls fan, I actually think the bigger what if is "what wade, bron, and bosh signed with the bulls in 2010". Derrick prolly wouldnt have that MVP and he prolly doesnt get injured 2 years later in the playoffs.
What if Brandon Jennings didnt tear his Achilles in Detroit. With an ascending Jennings, and a emerging Drummond, with young talents like Caldwell-Pope, Dinwiddie, and Monroe on the team. How good could this Pistons team have become if BJ didnt get hurt.
For the jazz i’d also say what if they only decided to trade Spida or Rudy, and not both. Obviously they didn’t mesh well together but what if they held onto mitchell
You tapped into some deep Magic-Thunder lore with the Magic take. Rob Hennigan was the Magic GM at the time who had ties to Presti and OKC. He does the trade for Ibaka sending them Oladipo and Sabonis and then OKC sends that same package to Indiana for Paul George After that season Hennigan was fired and guess where he went after they fired him? Back to OKC lol I’m sure Thunder fans are aware of this, but they have Presti and Hennigan to thank for their current ridiculous amount of talent and assets
For Knicks: no. KD + Irving would have been the same shirt show as in Brooklyn. Their best what if is if they drafted SGA instead of Knox. If they come out of that night with SGA + Robinson that's a pretty good start. Even if they proceed with a Porxingis trade, in the following years they could still add IQ, McBride, and ? and have a pretty good squad to add free agents.
Would still have been a wasted pick. The game was evolving towards favoring skilled wings and guards. Oden would have been at best another Rudy Gobert type role player.
@@toinengwyn3935For the majority of his career he would have still been playing in an era that relied on traditional centers. @@JimBob-jr5up My point still stands. With his limited skillset, Oden would have been no better than a role player. He didn't have the passing or shooting skills to become an offensive focal point. Of the top centers during his era, Dwight Howard's profile would have come closest to Oden's. Howard's declining athleticism and limited skillset eventually reduced him into a role player.
@@toinengwyn3935 DHoward and Oden were nothing alike. Oden was a far more traditional center who was easily developing into a 20-10 as a low post dominant center, in an era that still relied on them. I also think youre not drawing an accurate picture of the nba, due to the words you are choosing to use, in an attempt to downgrade him.
For Mavs it is definitely what if they hadn't traded for Porzingis. With that trade they lost almost every asset and couldn't really build anything around Luka.
The only thing for the hawks luka trade is if they didn’t trade they would have still taken Trae, idk how much we knew at the time but the mavericks really wanted luka and the hawks really wanted Trae young so it was kind of a perfect situation for both teams at the time and if they didn’t have that trade opportunity they would have likely drafted Trae young at that 3rd pick
For the Nuggets, it should've been what if Jamal Murray doesn't tear his ACL? Murray's injury resulted in two wasted playoffs of Jokic's prime. Who knows maybe Jokic has more than one ring right now
for the pacers i’d put what if lebron didn’t hit the game winner in game 1 of ot against them in 2013. the pacers took the prime heat to game 7 of the ecf things coulda been different if bron didn’t get that game winner
What if the 2016 Warriors got KD, and also got Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Giannis Antetekoumpo, and Anthony Davis to all sign minimum contracts. They would have gone 82-0 and would have 8-peated until this day and would be favorites this year again. Plus the spurs 2010-2015 signed Wade, Bosh, Ray Allen, Nowitzki, and Kobe to minimums. Spurs would have 6-peated and stopped only by the warriors in 2016
For the pacers it’s without a doubt what if they kept Kawhi instead of trading him for George Hill. Kawhi and Paul George would have been unstoppable in there prime
as a mavs fan i can tell you we could of made the playoffs but they decided to tank at the end of the season to fall out of the playoffs they was sitting players n shxt it was very stressful
I was just thinking about the Donovan Mitchell trade. Gary Harris was their sg but if they believe Mitchell is their guy, maybe they outbid Detroit for Blake Griffin, put him in an Aaron Gordon (but better) role. Clippers got Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban and a 2018 1st (Miles Bridges) Now they get Gary Harris, Paul Millsap, Mason Plumlee and a 2018 1st (Michael Porter, jr) Murray and Mitchell are a bit of an odd fit, like Garland and Mitchell now, but Jokic was averaging 7.3apg and Griffin 5.4apg, so the ball is moving around. Griffin fell off immediately after this season and the Warriors had KD in 2019 so it's probably unlikely that Denver sneaks into the Finals, but 2018/19 would have been a great year for the Nuggets 19/20 Denver got Jerami Grant just before he became a 20ppg guy. This was the year Murray and Mitchell took turns ripping the nets in the 1st round against each other, no idea how that plays out if they're team mates, but somewhat favorably i would think. 2021 they traded Gary Harris for Aaron Gordon. They don't have Gary Harris here but maybe Orlando takes Will Barton instead. Jamal Murray gets hurt but Donovan Mitchell can handle a bigger role in the offense. MPj is a Clipper, but maybe they keep Jerami Grant and he becomes a 20ppg guy in Denver, especially with Murray going down. This team definitely gets past Phoenix to make the Finals, dunno if they beat the Bucks. But maybe. 2022 this team definitely gets past my Warriors and beats Boston. Maybe this is a repeat. 2023 Murray is back and they're either repeating or three-peating. 2024 depending on how tired they are from three straight Finals runs, they're getting back to the Finals and probably beating the Celtics. Murray wasn't great this year but now Mitchell is their scorer so it's not make or break with Murray. 2025 and beyond, Jokic, Gordon, Mitchell, Murray make every Finals unless Jokic or two of the other guys misses key games
Portland fan. We got so many what ifs 😭 missed on MJ,KD, both the players drafted were injury busts (Bowe and oden). Sean kemp going to rehab 😭Brandon Roy. The Mathews injury during I think 2012. It’s been too much We are TIRED BOSS
What if the Pistons would have put Blake Griffin on the trading block after he had his best statistical season of his career? The year before his body completely fell apart and they then couldn't get anything for him.
What if Kawhi didn't blow that free throw in Game 6 in Miami 2013. Dude had the most scared look on his face going to the line to try to clinch that title. Though gotta wonder if the Spurs would have been able to come out in 2013-14 with the same anger after giving away the 2013 title, as the 2014 Spurs were easily the greatest team in franchise history.
Grizzlies should’ve been what if they didn’t sign Chandler parsons because that was highway robbery and the end of the grit and grind era (Marc Gasol, Tony Allen, Mike Conley and Zbo)
I understand the Bam over Zac Collins draft pick in 2017 for the Blazers but they should have taken Donavon Mitchell instead. Also, 2013 draft what if is Giannis over CJ McCollum.
for Mavs it should be what if they had good center like Gafford or Lively in 2022 playoffs instead of Dwight Powell. Don't think Looney would dominate like that
I definitely don't agree with the Detroit take. Getting Blake Griffin was the last time that Detroit was good. That's a season remembered very fondly by Detroit fans. None of those players you named were really doing anything at that point in their career and you could say that they haven't done a ton of stuff since then. Tobias Harris is the best of the bunch and nobody's crazy about Tobias Harris. Especially a younger Tobias Harris. Miles Bridges is a whole other story.
The Detroit one should be what if they drafted Carmelo Anthony in 2003 instead of Darko Milicic. They went on to win a title less than a year later. If they have Carmelo are they able to build a mini-dynasty? On the other hand, do they still trade for Rasheed Wallace if Carmelo is on the roster and excelling?
For the Nets I think what if they didn’t trade all of their picks for aged Celtics players? For the Nuggets how good would they be if MJP never had back surgery? What if the Pistons drafted Devin Booker instead of Stanley Johnson?
As a rockets fan, I was gonna dislike this video if you didn’t say CP3 getting hurt in 2018…we would have definitely beaten the Cavs and won another title if he stay healthy.
What if the Wolves drafted Curry instead of Johnny Flynn? There are so many what-ifs with the Warriors. What if they traded Klay for Kevin Love? What if David Lee never gets injured and Draymond never takes the starting role? What if the cap spike doesn't coincide with KD's free agency? What if Zaza doesn't undercut Kawhi? The list goes on and on. And most variations result in them having fewer titles, not more.
Hornets they gave Kobe Bryant for a 85 overall and they rejected a trade from the warriors the warriors would give curry and klay Thompson for Chris Paul and the hornets rejected the trade
The biggest what if in NBA history is if the Blazers drafted and ruined Michael Jordan 😂😂😂 imagine where the nba would be without a full potential jordan

For the pacers it’s without a doubt what if they kept Kawhi instead of trading him for George Hill. Kawhi and Paul George would have been unstoppable in there prime
The what if for the mavs is such low stake lmao
The nets is “what if the Paul Pierce and KG trade to Brooklyn didn’t happen?”
as a mavs fan i can tell you we could of made the playoffs but they decided to tank at the end of the season to fall out of the playoffs
they was sitting players n shxt it was very stressful
Kemba and AD woulda been crazy
Bucks biggest what if: What if they continued the Steph Curry trade
I was just thinking about the Donovan Mitchell trade.
Gary Harris was their sg but if they believe Mitchell is their guy, maybe they outbid Detroit for Blake Griffin, put him in an Aaron Gordon (but better) role.
Clippers got Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban and a 2018 1st (Miles Bridges)
Now they get Gary Harris, Paul Millsap, Mason Plumlee and a 2018 1st (Michael Porter, jr)
Murray and Mitchell are a bit of an odd fit, like Garland and Mitchell now, but Jokic was averaging 7.3apg and Griffin 5.4apg, so the ball is moving around.
Griffin fell off immediately after this season and the Warriors had KD in 2019 so it's probably unlikely that Denver sneaks into the Finals, but 2018/19 would have been a great year for the Nuggets
19/20 Denver got Jerami Grant just before he became a 20ppg guy.
The Rockets biggest what if is if CP3 didnt get hurt in the WCF Game 7 in 2018. They would've beaten those Warriors.
What if Jayson Tatum got drafted to the Phoenix Suns like he originally wanted to be drafted to?
so blazers what if isn’t what if they drafted mj or what if they drafted KD?
Since 2010
@@All_A_Guy_Needs ah thanks
Portland fan. We got so many what ifs 😭 missed on MJ,KD, both the players drafted were injury busts (Bowe and oden). Sean kemp going to rehab 😭Brandon Roy. The Mathews injury during I think 2012. It’s been too much We are TIRED BOSS
So...what if every team drafted jokic?
1 minute ago is a war crime
3 different teams biggest what if is “what if Kyrie wasn’t a nerd”
What if the Pistons would have put Blake Griffin on the trading block after he had his best statistical season of his career? The year before his body completely fell apart and they then couldn't get anything for him.
What if Kawhi didn't blow that free throw in Game 6 in Miami 2013. Dude had the most scared look on his face going to the line to try to clinch that title. Though gotta wonder if the Spurs would have been able to come out in 2013-14 with the same anger after giving away the 2013 title, as the 2014 Spurs were easily the greatest team in franchise history.
What if the nuggets keep Donovan?
Grizzlies should’ve been what if they didn’t sign Chandler parsons because that was highway robbery and the end of the grit and grind era (Marc Gasol, Tony Allen, Mike Conley and Zbo)
I think the bigger what if for the kings is what if we didn’t trade Isiah Thomas
What if in the 2018 draft Luka wasn’t traded for Trae young
What if dwade didn’t try to be different and did the jersey swap with Trae young instead of Kevin Huerter
Heats: what if Jimmy made that shot or what if Strus 3 counted
I understand the Bam over Zac Collins draft pick in 2017 for the Blazers but they should have taken Donavon Mitchell instead. Also, 2013 draft what if is Giannis over CJ McCollum.
On the other hand, the 2017 draft what if should be Kyle kuzma over Caleb swannigen with the 27th pick for the Blazers
Nah a bigger one would’ve been if Luka was drafted by the Sons & the Kings
sons
THE SONS?!
Not being able to spell sunz is crazy
@@Ipxuli I’m a mavs fan. Luka Doncic is devin booker father
@@lifeisshørt_420 lmfao
for Mavs it should be what if they had good center like Gafford or Lively in 2022 playoffs instead of Dwight Powell.
On the other hand, do they still trade for Rasheed Wallace if Carmelo is on the roster and excelling?
bucks is surely what if the steph curry trade actally happened
Pacers should have been what if they kept Kawhi in 2011 draft unless you’ve already done that one.
What if the Nuggets traded Jokic to Portland instead of Nurkic
pacers has to be what if they never traded kawhi leonard
For the Nets I think what if they didn’t trade all of their picks for aged Celtics players? For the Nuggets how good would they be if MJP never had back surgery? What if the Pistons drafted Devin Booker instead of Stanley Johnson?
If Porter never has back surgery he'd be drafted top 10 and never plays for Nugs.
@@75aces97 I’m interested in see how good MPJ would have turned as a player more so then where he’d be team wise.
What if kyrie and Gordon Hayward wasn’t injured in the 2018 playoffs🤔
Think bostons is what if Hayward doesn’t get injured
For the warriors I would say what if dray didn’t punch Jordan Poole
As a rockets fan, I was gonna dislike this video if you didn’t say CP3 getting hurt in 2018…we would have definitely beaten the Cavs and won another title if he stay healthy.
The biggest what if to me is what if kd never left the warriors. The next one is what if the bucks draft embiid instead of parker.
Or better yet, had he not left OKC and OKC still (because they could have easily done so) made the PG13 trade?
Well they were completely right about Kyrie and Durant teaming up in New York, just thankfully wasn’t the Knicks
What if Presti paid harden
My biggest what if is for the Bulls is what if Jay Williams never got hurt
Damn not Drose?
@@GlizzieMcGuire D Rose is the biggest one for the Bulls but I wanted to pick someone else
No more Woj bombs 😔
Shouldn’t every team’s what if (minus the Nuggets) be, What if team x had drafted Jokic in the 2014 draft?
Celtics for me is what if Hayward doesn’t get hurt
Luka and Booker would've won 3 championships
8:53 Jordans the goat
what if KD didn't get injured against the Raptors and Draymond didn't pull his BS
What if dubs traded Ellis instead of curry
thats what they did
@@totororules9106 vise versa my bad 😂
What if the Wolves drafted Curry instead of Johnny Flynn? There are so many what-ifs with the Warriors. What if they traded Klay for Kevin Love? What if David Lee never gets injured and Draymond never takes the starting role? What if the cap spike doesn't coincide with KD's free agency? What if Zaza doesn't undercut Kawhi? The list goes on and on. And most variations result in them having fewer titles, not more.
@@rome8180spurs were up by 25 before that
Celtics is what if Gordon Hayward didn’t blow his knee out
What if the lakers got Chris Paul 😊
sorry Matt I commented
What if the nuggets didn’t trade Donovan Mitchell
Then you said just that 😂🎉😢
Hornets they gave Kobe Bryant for a 85 overall and they rejected a trade from the warriors the warriors would give curry and klay Thompson for Chris Paul and the hornets rejected the trade
The biggest what if in NBA history is if the Blazers drafted and ruined Michael Jordan 😂😂😂 imagine where the nba would be without a full potential jordan
Clippers: What if these mfs could just stay healthy 😭🥺
Wheres the Pacers?
The Celtics one for me is what if Len Bias didn’t die. I’m gonna be honest
Its since 2010
Your Grizzlies "what if" is a negative that would have destroyed the franchise. Why did you go that route?!?!?!?!?!?
