The first Disney-Pixar's Inside Out Pre-Parade along the Disney California Adventure parade route at the Disneyland Resort. The five emotions: Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness are the centerpiece and are surrounded by performers.

To me this seems more like a show on a float. Good for Kids, bad for older kids and adults. Past that negative thought, GEZUS the Animatronics. Can we get that kind of quality from here on out Disney? Oh Please oh please oh please!?

They're clearly machines running through a specific set of animations to fit the audio. along with specific lip/eye movements.
they're not manned by an individual themselves. [ like puppets are ] such a thing would require way more effort than letting the animatronics run through preset animations/audio on their own.

Does each character use robotics inside. for eye movement/blinking/mouth movement. controlled by remote?
then they're animatronic.
if they have a hand inside them/being moved by an actual human. then they're puppets.

Jinell Villanueva Replying to you here. So then that means 'Puppetronics' returns? AKA the old way the Lion King Parade animals were animated? I thought that kind of animation was LONG gone after Lion King parade and only returned to make Simba move in Soundsational.
Wow.. the new floats that are moving machines, animatronics and not live actors. Wow.. for some reason it doesn't work. And from the looks from the crowd.. WEAK reaction. The only "life" that came from the pre parade was the so not needed cast members throwing balls around. Just like when people were not satisfied with an animatronic olaf in the Frozen pre parades, they will not be thrilled with these kind of floats. Sorry Disney... not gonna give you a win for this. Seeing a moving Pirates of the Carribbean float with animatronics is just not the same as seeing it on a boat and passing it by on the ride.

That's the reason why it's projected to make 80 to 85 million dollars and JW is still expected to make 103 million this weekend... because promotion is suppose to get people hyped up for the film. You don't have to see the film to be excited for this float. If a walking Dinosaur that reacted to crowds at Universal Studios walked the parade path over there, people would go nuts for it, it biting towards people and walking in random directions.. it's just not working, this float.

Johnny17369 Dude, it's not working. Parades have always had live actors and people interacting with people in the crowds. Dark rides never have live actors, people try to switch it up, yes there's push back from people like me but as of today, so far, they should have had a crowd reaction and didn't get it. If live actors where there waving back and interacting, people would react back. Parade doesn't do anything, so the people watching react back.
