Saw and heard Mr. Juber play at the Beatles Fest '07 in Vegas. There are no words. Wonderful. My husband proposed during this song also. Will never forget it. one of the best times ever.
i got to see him perform in front of a small group of people at a guitar shop in northern california. he is incredible. i got to meet him briefly afterwards and he seems like a genuinely nice humble guy with a nice sense of humor. i will always go see him play when he is in my area.
Juber..you still have the touch with music! It took me 2 yrs. to learn the basic structure of that song. And You made it look like, a simple puzzle. Thanks, and...Keep PLaying GREAT!!!!!!!!! :-), :-), :-)!!!
This is awesome, LJ Just came into the our building meeting with my Boss, they are friends. LJ will be performing at the Bell Tower Tonight here in Bakersfield, CA!!!! Now how cool is that..! What a Great Guy he is -
Great performance !!! I love the variety of techniques you use to get all the dynamics the song deserves. This is a very moving piece of music & you really do it justice.
A cover of a great song by a great performer. George Harrison (in my opinion) was the most musically talented of the Beatles, the man wrote some wonderful pieces of music. Case in point; This cover of While my Guitar Gently Weeps by Laurence Juber is unreal, tons of emotion and feeling given to an already great song.
Happy to say that I now own a LJ Pro Juber himself hand picked at the Martin factory to perform on in Nashville not long ago. Tone is like this but wish I could play this well.
not only is his playing phenomenal, you have to think of the mind it takes to arrange this. Wish i had a mind like his, i have the fingers but not the brilliancy.
Thanks for the introduction to Chapdelaine! - I've just watched some clips. Wow that guy can really play & like Tommy uses all the instrument (percussion effects). Cheers - I'm off to hunt down some CDs!
It's the Martin OMC-28M or OMC-28B. The back and sides are Rosewood, either Brazilian or Madagascar. The back is in two pieces. The top is Adirondack Spruce. The neck is mahogany, with an ebony fingerboard. the headplate is also either Brazilian or Madagascar Rosewood. There are 14 frets clear, with 20 total. notice the cutaway for easy access to the higher frets. This is my dream guitar. $5,600 if Madagascar, and $15,000 if Brazilian.
For me, Tommy any day of the week! To play harmonics the way TE does takes real guitar genius, not to mention his skill at running bass lines with simultaneous rhythm & melody. Also have you heard Tommy's tribute song to the aborigines? Drums, Pink Floyd type effects, etc all from his Maton - what a guy. He creams Clapton acousticly(sorry no pun intended), Juber and the rest, however Don Ross is also pretty amazing. I'm can't to see Tommy play at Slough at Easter.
Another thing I like with Laurence Juber's playing as compared to TE's playing is the fact that he can do all the fancy embellishments but at the same time maintain the melody of the song althrough out, with TE's playing sometimes he puts so many embellishments in his playing that the melody of the song is almost unrecognizable.
OMG ... u had no idea your cousin was famous and at one time played with Paul McCartney in one of the most legendary bands of all time ? The Wings ? I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that dude !! Crazy
I Haven't seen TE's solo version of "While my guitar gently weeps" that can rival Laurence's version, though I've seen a video of him playing the tune here in youtube with a ukelele player. Laurence only needed one guitar to make the tune came alive TE was aided by a ukelele player to play the chords while he plays the melody.
While LJ may have a large fretting hand, he isn't bending them so flawlessly because of this. His guitar is tuned to D suspended type tuning (DADGAD) for this song, enabling the the 1st, 2nd, and 6th strings to be bended much easier.
It's a Marin ether a 0-18 or 00-18 size. Looks lke may be Brazillian Rosewood back and sides... Big bucks if it is Brazillian. Check or Breedlove for about half the price and just as good if not better hand built.
Saw and heard Mr. Juber play at the Beatles Fest '07 in Vegas. There are no words. Wonderful. My husband proposed during this song also. Will never forget it. one of the best times ever.
If God does touch anyone with his inspiration then I would say that he touched Laurence in some way, The guy is blessed.
i got to see him perform in front of a small group of people at a guitar shop in northern california. he is incredible. i got to meet him briefly afterwards and he seems like a genuinely nice humble guy with a nice sense of humor. i will always go see him play when he is in my area.
This is the best version of this song that I ever seen
Came to my guitar class, Gave some good tips taught me about the invisible whammy bar!!!
Juber..you still have the touch with music!

I want all his covers and his talent. :0)

Great performance !!! I love the variety of techniques you use to get all the dynamics the song deserves. This is a very moving piece of music & you really do it justice.

Exceptional virtuoso performance!
LJ is supposed to be at Martin on Main in Nazareth PA the first Saturday of August, 2016. A fun event.
This song is greater than the inspiration of the original.
not only is his playing phenomenal, you have to think of the mind it takes to arrange this. Wish i had a mind like his, i have the fingers but not the brilliancy.
martin guitar , can't believe it , superb playing
Thanks for the introduction to Chapdelaine! - I've just watched some clips. Wow that guy can really play & like Tommy uses all the instrument (percussion effects). Cheers - I'm off to hunt down some CDs!
So beautiful!
Got to meet him at the Jazz fest in montreal last week :P
18 Dislikes, WTF?! Are you serious?
This is possibly the greatest musical performance of all time!
Nuff' Said!

Brilliant what a player.
i was just supposed to watch the beginning but i ended up enjoying the whole vid lol
HOLY MOLY! this is awesome.
anyone has the tabs to this???
He played with Paul McCartney and Wings for years and play with George Harrison on one album, plus alot of solo work,he's one of the best.
Esse arranjo, nem o Sungha faz melhor. heheh Mto feeling!
LJ uses his signature GHS 'True Medium' strings...Phosphor Bronze. They are a light gauge set w/ a beefed-up low E , B, & high E.
For me, Tommy any day of the week! To play harmonics the way TE does takes real guitar genius, not to mention his skill at running bass lines with simultaneous rhythm & melody. Fabulous!
Laurence Juber with David Gilmour, Paul Mccartney, pete Townsend, ....(1978)
"So glad to see you here" "Rockestra theme" on "Back to the egg" album
Nice that i rediscover this. :) salamat.
Five stars.Una belleza.
Magnifique ! vive l'open tuning.
He even puts some of the E.C. licks in, his arrangement is the cat's pyjamas for sure
Wow beautiful.

He just played guitar on a song me and his daughter wrote. He is incredible!
amazing.
Are you kidding?
He's so famous he has a signature line of guitar strings.
he is godlike
DESDE ARGENTINA, MUY PERO MUY BUENO
most recently he composed and played for the diablo 3 soundtrack, seriously a talented guy
OMFG cant stop listening wtf
I like the slightly faster version... Gives it slight edge of extra emotion.
now that's music!
OMG ... u had no idea your cousin was famous and at one time played with Paul McCartney in one of the most legendary bands of all time ? The Wings ?
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that dude !! Crazy

I know eh. It's amazing what he can do with just one acoustic guitar! :)
lorenzo lo tuyo es fantastico...
Gonna see him tomorrow in Napa Ca with Peppino D A'gostino and Carlos Reyes :-)
Nice job...

@BannerMan777 I think he meant it only works with a bear arm.
