    Mam when the heat is absorbed the water gains heat and when heat is evolved the water becomes cold know mam??? You have said vice versa..

    Maam why do we say that the change in volume is zero when we are constantly supplying oxygen gas into the bomb calorimeter, shouldn’t the volume increase ?
    Or we only supply oxygen initially and then seal it when we carry out the experiment?

      When you blow air into a balloon it expands as its walls are expandable and not hard and fixed. So volume increases. A bomb calorimeter has solid metal walls. It cannot expand and so the volume remains fixed.

      Yes, gases always occupy the shape and volume of the container they are in.
