Thanks Kat and Mark, I think nowadays , the social media distraction that everyone is subjected to, is becoming an issue in some instances, like impacting productivity , services and our mental health! For example, In my town I can notice how customer service is deteriorating fast the employees are so distracted on their phones!. I personally struggle so much at trying to manage my social media, some friends tell me things like 'how come you don't know this or that?! It's everywhere on social media since about 30 minutes ago!?´ 'Oh Well'. I do my best to start the day with excercise, work through my day objectives, take some meaningful training (High Level Listening is on top), and leave social media till the end, cause it's so addictive. Peace and Blessings! Thank you both!
I often fall in hole rabbit. Im sucked into scrolling my phone. Its difficult to resist the notifications. That're some utterances I've learnt in this video. Great guys, nice topic. Anyway, besides learning the English, in some topics I also get tips or advices that come up from your conversations. So I think its better why don't you give bit suggestions or tips regard your topic even though you didn't do it, maybe its said from the experts or anywhere just make it more useful for your listeners to get something extra by watching your video. Im sorry my English is still in processing, it might not really good. Thanks guys 😊❤❤
You're welcome and thanks for the suggestions! We're happy you find the English lessons helpful and that you're taking notes on some of our 'utterances' haha!
Like always it was just amazing 😊 I am Using WhatsApp, Telegram, instagram, specially youtube for learning new things But I am not using facebook it's just wast of time . Most of the time I am on youtube and learning from teachers like you. Once again thank you so much 😊
Hi there, what a useful random channel that helps me improve comprehence in both Listening and Speaking. I definitely click subscribe for you guys effort into making my journey regarding learning English more helpful.
I don't use social media often. What I use the most is TH-cam, because it's a learning tool for me. What I never use is Facebook😅. WhatsApp just to exchange a message every day with family 😅. Thank you, one more helpful classroom😊
Great sentences! It is interesting that TH-cam isn't really considered typical 'social media", even though it has lots of great communities and chances to interact with people. Well done for being so responsible with your time on social media as well 👏
I usually use Telegram to keep in touch with my friends and latest trends and information globally and nationally. I used to scroll Facebook as my major communicating platform. I rarely online on Facebook now, though.
Same here honestly, I can't remember the last time I used Facebook to post anything. I've heard lots of good things about Telegram, even though it's not a hugely popular app in the UK or US
thank you very much for this lesson it's so informative I've learnt so many things. I was todays years old when you were talking about website and platform. and to answer to your question there two social platforms that I use the most is TH-cam and Tandem and i get so sucked in tandem that everytime I'm on tandem I lose track of time. Anyway thanks a lot again to you two you're amazing. when I wach your video I kill two birds with one stone I chillax and most importantly I always learn something new. I can't wait for the next lesson.
Hello, I'm on platforms like Facebook and TH-cam more often than I should be. Getting sucked into endless scrolling applies to me, too and what I can't stand any longer are those clickbaity ads that lead you to uninteresting, dull content that doesn't add up to anything really worth knowing or seeing. This lesson is so packed with so many new expressions that I need to rewatch it. So, going back to what you asked, falling into a rabbit hole like Alice in Wonderland. Is this expression used so often in everyday and informal situations? When you get sucked into something, can I use this expression in different contexts? Thank you for another interesting lesson. The use of English you offer is terrific and I was wondering whether I should create some maps or perhaps tables comparing some expressions or words used differently in your varieties of English😊.
Hi good morning! Yessss we use this phrase a lot "going down the rabbit hole" "I got sucked into something" I went down a whole rabbit hole of videos on cooking cheesecake.... now I'm studying the history of cheesecake in Spain! It happens all the time, blog posts and clickbaity ads want us to get stuck in their rabbit hole! Thank you so much for joining us, we really enjoyed your comment and practice! Regarding the maps/lists. We are working on creating a library of information for our students through our website in the future, we're working hard to create lots of videos and tools for our students, but we're just two people, so thank you for your patience, we love the idea!
Hello everyone, I understand that you are both online teachers of English as a second language. Do you also offer the one-to-one courses for private individuals? If yes, please let me know how I can get more details about it? Thank you and best regards! Svetlana
Hi Svetlana, unfortunately, we're not able to add any extra 1-on-1 classes to our schedules at the moment. But if that changes then we will definitely let you and our followers know about it! 😀
Hi good morning, sorry for the late reply, you can find all the PDF transcripts in our Community for Members Only www.youtube.com/@highlevellistening/community thank you so much for joining us!!
Good catch and good question. Maybe native speakers break this grammar rule quite commonly. We have 2 versions that I would consider correct and frequently used. 1.) Suddenly, 5 minutes [goes] by and I am still looking at my phone. 2.) Suddenly, 5 minutes [go] by and I am still looking at my phone. Maybe sometimes native speakers think of [5 minutes] as 1 "block" of time. So you might often hear: - 10 minutes passes so fast - 90 minutes flies by - 5 days goes by like that 🤏 I know grammatically it's not "correct" but native speakers do it all the time!
Hi guys! Sorry for the issue with the Premiere. The video is public now and ready to watch, enjoy!
Thank you!
Thank you

Thanks so much! We don't offer 1-on-1 classes at the moment, but if that changes we will let you know!
Hi, I couldn't download the pdf, would you tell me why please?!
www.youtube.com/@highlevellistening/community Have you checked our community page?
Nice
Thank you!
Why Mark said „5 minutes goes by” but „10 minutes go by”?
Good catch and good question.
Maybe native speakers break this grammar rule quite commonly. We have 2 versions that I would consider correct and frequently used.
1.) Suddenly, 5 minutes [goes] by and I am still looking at my phone.
2.) Suddenly, 5 minutes [go] by and I am still looking at my phone.
Maybe sometimes native speakers think of [5 minutes] as 1 "block" of time. So you might often hear:
- 10 minutes passes so fast
- 90 minutes flies by
- 5 days goes by like that 🤏
