This is why you never hear InSomnias complain about lack of content. This is also why Happyface deserves a lot more support than they're getting; they treat their idols well. Also, we know Dreamcatcher are already preparing for a comeback because I believe Handong said in an interview there are trainers with her in China preparing for it. I think this information is very reliable because this falls in line with Dreamcatcher having a comeback every six months or so. Yep, I can't wait for it already. ^_^

As time goes, it seems more and more likely Handong will miss the promotional activities, but that doesn't mean she won't be a part of the comeback. Being part of the comeback means participating in the album. The comeback stages, radio shows, etc, are promotional activities for the comeback, so let's distinguish the two first. A few things still point to Handong's participation in the album. One, in the last comeback, it was announced quite early that Handong wouldn't participate. We're just over two weeks away now, and no such information has been released yet, so unless it's a last minute decision, this door is still open. She can record in a studio in China and have it sent back to Korea. This is very possible, since they record individually anyway. Two, like all the other members, Handong recently had a major hair colour change, which points to she's a part of it. She has bright red, and this coincides with no other member is sharing the same hair colour, everyone having a unique colour for this comeback. Second half of this isn't the strongest of reasons, but it's an indiciation nonetheless. Three, she's been receiving training in China. Yes, this might be preparing for a just-in-case-she-can-return situation, but this would allude to my first point that the intention is for her to be a part of this comeback, therefore recording can take place in China for her to be a part of this comeback at the very least. Four, and final point, although Dreamcatcher isn't the biggest of groups, celebrity status can work wonders, even amidst travelling bans and restrictions. For me, there's still a possibility she can return for promotional activities, without Happyface officially confirming that she won't. This brings me to think of two possibilities. Either Happyface don't want to announce it until the very last possible minute that she certainly can't participate, or they're planning a surprise; without saying anything, without Handong being caught returning to Korea, without any members spoiling it, she's just there for their first comeback stage. I wouldn't push this as being impossible and it would be a great stunt to pull off for attention to the group, and would definitely be a nice surprise for all the fans. I'm not unrealistically hopeful that she will definitely be back, but I'm also acknowledging that she can still participate and in a variety of different ways.
DanteLovesPizza When I said she wasn't going to participate I was talking about the mv and the music show promotions since she probably won't be able to come back to Korea unless the politics change at the last minute but you're right, she can be part of it doing other type of activities and if she's able to record her part it'd be even better.

Dreamcatcher releasing more musical content in two weeks than some groups from major companies in two years. This is why you never hear InSomnias complain about lack of content. This is also why Happyface deserves a lot more support than they're getting; they treat their idols well.
Also, we know Dreamcatcher are already preparing for a comeback because I believe Handong said in an interview there are trainers with her in China preparing for it. I think this information is very reliable because this falls in line with Dreamcatcher having a comeback every six months or so. Yep, I can't wait for it already. ^_^
The comeback will be on 17th August but Handong won't be participating ㅠㅠ

As time goes, it seems more and more likely Handong will miss the promotional activities, but that doesn't mean she won't be a part of the comeback.
Being part of the comeback means participating in the album. The comeback stages, radio shows, etc, are promotional activities for the comeback, so let's distinguish the two first.
A few things still point to Handong's participation in the album.
One, in the last comeback, it was announced quite early that Handong wouldn't participate. We're just over two weeks away now, and no such information has been released yet, so unless it's a last minute decision, this door is still open. She can record in a studio in China and have it sent back to Korea. This is very possible, since they record individually anyway.
Two, like all the other members, Handong recently had a major hair colour change, which points to she's a part of it. She has bright red, and this coincides with no other member is sharing the same hair colour, everyone having a unique colour for this comeback. Second half of this isn't the strongest of reasons, but it's an indiciation nonetheless.
Three, she's been receiving training in China. Yes, this might be preparing for a just-in-case-she-can-return situation, but this would allude to my first point that the intention is for her to be a part of this comeback, therefore recording can take place in China for her to be a part of this comeback at the very least.
Four, and final point, although Dreamcatcher isn't the biggest of groups, celebrity status can work wonders, even amidst travelling bans and restrictions.
For me, there's still a possibility she can return for promotional activities, without Happyface officially confirming that she won't. This brings me to think of two possibilities. Either Happyface don't want to announce it until the very last possible minute that she certainly can't participate, or they're planning a surprise; without saying anything, without Handong being caught returning to Korea, without any members spoiling it, she's just there for their first comeback stage. I wouldn't push this as being impossible and it would be a great stunt to pull off for attention to the group, and would definitely be a nice surprise for all the fans. I'm not unrealistically hopeful that she will definitely be back, but I'm also acknowledging that she can still participate and in a variety of different ways.
DanteLovesPizza When I said she wasn't going to participate I was talking about the mv and the music show promotions since she probably won't be able to come back to Korea unless the politics change at the last minute but you're right, she can be part of it doing other type of activities and if she's able to record her part it'd be even better.

I think the recording part is definitely possible. As for the MV, I wouldn't rule it out either. Filming, CG, they can still include her in it. Worst case scenario is just being in the comeback, but not the MV and promotions, so I think it won't be too bad in the end.
