I saw Ronnie Milsap in concert back in 1987 in Pennsylvania. It was the best concert ever. He never missed a note!!! I was sad to find out about his difficult childhood but he showed the world that dreams really do come true no matter what disability a person may have. I feel very lucky to have been at his concert. I will never forget it!!!
@heidipafford5459 I often wonder how he performs live. I believe you!!! This man's talent is remarkable. He literally brought a whole new sound to country 🎶 back then.
I was thinking the same thing, despite his family rejection, how he could find love and joy through music, he was able to see life through it, so glad you could go to that concert, double happines for all it means !!
I saw Him in Houston in '74......He got 3 Encores w/standing ovations.....had never heard of Him before that, Charlie Pride was the main Act and Ronnie was the opening act......Pure Love Hit big later that Yr. and the rest is History.......;)........

Knowing he is blind, but puting everything into his performance. His biggest hits that year were It was almost like a song, what a difference you’ve made in my life and stand by your woman man.
You got that right today's music is just shit to me. But on the other hand when we listen to our favorites as a young person growing, our parents, guardian, or who ever raised you said the same thing that the music at that time wasn't cutting it either, and so we carry that tradition and tell our kids that their modern music sucks, and then their children will tell their kids and so on and so on. It's just what you grew up with that style of music what your use to and when they change the sound and how the beat is and how they sound singing will get us to say it's bad and not cutting it. But you right it's not. Especially country music, today's country sound so different and some singers don't even sound country but should be in pop, today's country sounds like pop. It's like country music has died and left with singers like Taylor Swift for example she's ok but doesn't sound like country but pop. To me Carrie Underwood is the same. Just like Bob Seager said in one of his songs he says today's music ain't got the same soul . And I'm paraphrasing can't remember the exact words he used but probably get the point. The old sound of country like Hank Williams sr.and jr, Patsy Cline, Alabama, Johnny Cash to name a few is the country I love and wished it could of stayed that way of music. But change is inevitable and have to grin and bare it. Sucks but that's the way it is.
Between this song and "It Was Almost Like A Song", I would swear Ronnie foresaw my wife and I. We shared the most beautiful, loving twenty years of my life. Lost her to cancer 15 years ago. Now I battle it. So grateful to have Ronnie Millsap and these two songs in particular, to my music library.
My soul mate husband use to sing this to me after we got back together after a 10year break up he died in 2000and yet icry everything I hear it. I loved you then I love you now and I'll love you forever Joe. I wouldn't have missed it either

Ronnie is the living embodiment of when the Lord closes a door, he opens another without fail. Ronnie lost his sight but gained such a wonderful career in singing with that distinctive voice. The voice of a better time in this country.

Rip family. All my best friends also. My special first best friend, my older sister Brennie. Brenda Jeanne. Trulia beautiful person you will ever meet or could have ever met inside and out just two broke into stay . She left us more broken but we are still getting to know her. Gone. But not really. Just her body
1978 joined the U.S Army at 17, bought CD"s of Barry White, The Commodores, Art Garfunkel, all the greats, then listened to this unbelievable artist, and I was hooked, after hearing Smokey Mountain Rain, a treasure at best, just a belief in a man that can speak the heart..
It was a time when record producers sent scouts out to local fairs, clubs, bars etc looking for talented people who were gaining a following, that allowed the creative freedom that gave us artists like this. Those days are gone, now instead they just hand pick a person, create the image and political agenda they want & promote the hell out of that person everywhere you turn. That's why the music today sucks. No creative freedom.
Just sitting here listening to some good music my grandmother Mae brought me up on good Memories I miss you grandma your the best I love you always most of all I miss you grandma 🙏❤❤🦋🦋🦋 I would do anything to hug you again mama ❤❤
"I wouldn't have missed it for the world'".....I've met a very special, woman, much younger than I, who I've fallen hopelessly in love with. The only problem is, she has no idea how I feel. We have a close friendship relationship that I hope will continue forever. Because she is so very much younger than I am, any chance of a romantic connectiion between us is effectively impossible, so my feelings for her will have to remain a secret that I will keep locked in my heart forever. This special woman will never know how much I care for her. She has been loved by other men in the past, but nobody could love her any more than I do. It would be impossible for any love to exceed what feel for this woman. Love really does hurt sometimes, but, ''I wouldn't have missed it for the world..." Thank you for the lyrics and a wonderful song, Ronnie!
~~ Ronnie Milsap has been my all-time favorite since I was a little girl listening to him on 8 track!! Mom went on to Heaven this past March After beating Covid 2 months prior all while already hospitalized recovering from a deteriorating spine surgery at age 64. Anyway, she surprised me for my birthday 20+ years ago and took me to see Ronnie in concert, just her and I. We had so much fun!!! I'll never forget how special it was to me back then..... And even more so now that she's gone!!!! Ok, so.... Crying my eyes out again.... Missing my Mom sooooooo so much!!!!! Please.... ANYONE who happens to read this..... Take the time and share experiences with those you love!!!!! Create those special memories you and your loved one can always look back on and smile!!!! There will be a day when that's all you have of them..... Those special memories frozen in your mind!!!!! There's NOTHING I wouldn't give to have my Momma back.... even if only for a moment!!!!!! 😭💔

About five years later I found out this guy was blind... I'm like this guy is blind, plays the piano and can sing. Nobody Rocks Country like Ronnie!

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS ANY ONE THAT DOESN'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE THAT'S THEIR PROBLEM NOT MINE AND I'D TELL THEM YOU GO AND LISTEN TO WHAT SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO AND I WILL LISTEN TO WHAT SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) I WANT TO LISTEN TO.!!! I'D TELL THEM SO WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE DOESN'T HURT MY FEELINGS !!!!
Saw Ronnie Millsap in concert at the Tri-state fair in Amarillo, Texas in the fall of 1981 with my then future husband. This song describes how I fell about the man that became my husband. We only had 13 short years... But oh the living we did in those years.💜💜💜 Great concert and didn't let his blindness affect his performance one little bit. Loved him then, love him now

"They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind." Gets me every time.
Funny. I read this right when he was singing it. Universe right on time. ✨
Hearing "They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind," is like a punch to the chest.
"They say that all good things must end. Love comes and goes just like the wind." Is so true. Yes, it happened to me already.
Funny (strange), loss hurts but the feeling of gratitude, takes over... just having that person in my life was an absolute joy & priviledge!
Yes. If we can understand that we have been there it makes sense.

Who would give Ronnie Milsap a thumbs down??? Makes me laugh!! I love the music I grew up on, this new stuff, not cuttin it!
Not me i love ronnie
For real!
hello sweetheart
The new stuff is crap
Between this song and "It Was Almost Like A Song", I would swear Ronnie foresaw my wife and I. We shared the most beautiful, loving twenty years of my life. Lost her to cancer 15 years ago. Now I battle it.
So grateful to have Ronnie Millsap and these two songs in particular, to my music library.
Sorry for your loss.. hang in there!
So sorry for your lost, I will pray for you.

I sure miss these times. At least we have music to take us back to simpler better days. Grateful I was born in a time to experience it all 🥲
Whoever would give Ronnie Milsap a thumbs down don't know what real country music is it's nothing like today this music today I wouldn't give you a dime for it I am a die-hard pure real country person who knows the country music is one of the greatest things ever someone needs to go to Nashville and where it says home of country music put a new sign up that says home of crap music because that's what this new country is I don't like it I don't listen to it anytime I want to hear good country music I just listen to the classic that's where music is at we ain't got a lot of Legends left from Old School country and wants all the Legends have passed on there won't be nothing left to listen to except finding it on TH-cam or other music channels but as for this new stuff you couldn't pay me enough to listen to it

Ronnie is the living embodiment of when the Lord closes a door, he opens another without fail. Ronnie lost his sight but gained such a wonderful career in singing with that distinctive voice. The voice of a better time in this country.
Why must I be a live scafices a freaky marked by the hand of god for other care there weight

I lost my husband 2 1/2 years ago and it still hurts as as much 😢
Why have I never heard this man before? Astounding talent.
Country at its absolute best. Being grateful rather than heartbroken is the healing process.
Rip family. All my best friends also. My special first best friend, my older sister Brennie. Brenda Jeanne. Trulia beautiful person you will ever meet or could have ever met inside and out just two broke into stay . She left us more broken but we are still getting to know her. Gone. But not really. Just her body
Hello ✋ Samantha how are you doing??
Blessed to have known Ronnie when we were in college together….
An amazing and gifted man…
SPECIAL times, the fifties...
I buried my wife of 45 years June 21st 2022. The emptiness I have in my soul and heart is overwhelming.
So sorry for your loss. I've always found music to be healing; hope it is for you.
Thank You Ronnie Millsap, the song brought me happiness tonight !
CD weren't released & available to the public until 1982.
@@blueslime1980 LoL, thanks for the reminder, meant to say cassettes, from the PX , take care
Elvis Presley.. 'Kentucky Rain' is good also.
Remember in my Parents Chevy SS Going on Vacation to Virginia this being on the 8-Track! Just LOVED IT And Soooo miss those Times and My Parents!

One of the classic GREAT songs. Thank you Ronnie!

So many memories we were together 1977 until God called you home 2019 you was the best my love I love you and I will always will
I remember when I was about 15 or 16 and had to pretend this song wasn't cool. I absolutely loved it and started looking into his other music and was blown away at his talent. About five years later I found out this guy was blind... I'm like this guy is blind, plays the piano and can sing. Nobody Rocks Country like Ronnie!
I was about 17 when I first heard Ronnie and I to was blown away by him!
Here to hear WHY did you have to play like this song WASN'T COOL ?
ANY SONG(S) OR MUSIC(S) THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE I WOULD NEVER PRETEND IT WASN'T COOL ! I'D TELL THEM SO WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG(S) AND MUSIC(S) THAT I LOVE DOESN'T HURT MY FEELINGS !!!!
his mother believed the devil cursed her with a blind child and abandoned him in an orphanage as an infant.
I love Ronnie milsap that man can sing a true believer in Ronnie
Saw Ronnie Millsap in concert at the Tri-state fair in Amarillo, Texas in the fall of 1981 with my then future husband. This song describes how I fell about the man that became my husband. We only had 13 short years... But oh the living we did in those years.💜💜💜 Great concert and didn't let his blindness affect his performance one little bit. Loved him then, love him now

Good lord. This song is so good. Hits me right in the heart.
My Grammy had this played at her funeral. I'm really thinking abotu her today, but it's really how we all felt about her. I wouldn't trade a single memory of her for all the gold in the world.

2 weeks at the top 100 in 1975,that alone explains how much this song meant to so many people
Right. I've certainly got a person in mind when I hear this song and it just brings it all home, and so joyfully, brilliantly, and beautifully.
This song reminds me the time when I was young and so much in love with my high school sweetheart. Describes exactly how I feel about those days and that girl. So good memories.❤
Lost my brother in 2019, he told me he wouldn't miss my wedding for the world. He passed before I got married, always makes me cry when I hear this

Dedicate this to my mom...she is still with us, and up in age and I wouldn't have missed her love for the world...when I was at home and young, I went with my mom everywhere, and alot of the times this song was on the radio, it reminds me of those times when I used to hang with my precious mom as kid.

He have a soulful voice!
This is my favorite song 🎶 so tell me are you a fan of Ronnie Milsap…?
The man is blind and playing the piano parts perfectly! Such TALENT. I've played in several Country bands and Rock bands since 1987.. He's a NATURAL! I played electric bass guitar..
I love Ronnie Milsap, he is a very talented singer, and every song he made was amazing. I love the fact he sang them from his heart, they had meaning. love you Ronnie
I remember watching Ronnie perform on "Austin City Limits." He loved to play with the audience just like here in this video. At rehearsal, he would count the steps to the edge of the stage, then walk forward during the show and wait for the crowd to gasp thinking he was going to fall. This man is an amazing fearless artist.
I miss my dad! He loved listening to Ronnie Milsap, lost my dad/best friend last January 7,22. They look alike in a certain way too. Love his music.
