What are your suspension specs? I've got both the GR and FD, got Ohlins on mine with some relatively thick tires, but will be doing other chassis stiffening mods as well to make it competitive vs modern built cars out of factory for tight corners like this.
umm, GR is everything factory, FD is basic coilovers. meganracing EZ II. 10k 8k not a special things. just use better tyre on front, a little bit aggressive alignment on rearend. that’s all. I think, FD got poor chassis. well, we know it’s really old model, so I understand. I just effort to turn in more sharp..
honestly, I thought that my car faster than gr86, so I choose the low grip tyre. but, cuz of the wet surface and 86s performance, gr is faster than my car. will use better tyre next driving. thanks for watching! I was very nervous to follow that car.
Yeah the gr86 handles very well I was surprised too but if you had equal tyre grip I believe it would've been a fair match. But nonetheless great driving. I want an FC rx7 in the future and it's cool people are still using the rx7 for the mountains.
Wouldn't be fair to say that if the GR86 had the same 261hp as the FD RX-7, that the BRZ/86 platform would definitely give a stock FD a run for it's money and probably be a good modern stand-in for the FD? The profile and shape of the cars are very similar as is the curb weight but the only real differences the engine in the power.
honestly, that section on the video is bad for FD. and FD is heavier and bad handling than GR86. also, bad tyre too. it's unfair, but nobody care about that. we just drive together for fun. not a competition :)
@@BrzBoyz831 suspension and chassis quality is huge more better than 90’s rx7. even rx8 has more better than rx7. but rx7 is easy to get power and has many item to increase performance. that’s good thing. if both stock, gr86 is better performance I think. very easy, comfortable and reliable.
@@BrzBoyz831 I never seen gr corolla. never imported in my country. just I guess with gr yaris, corolla and 86 both for drive fun, fast and high performance car. but follow another concept. 86 is rwd and naturally aspirared, corolla is 4wd and turbo charged. what do you want, drive for what? that's important. 86 is more reliable and fun to control the car on the road, corolla can get more power and drive faster at anytime, anywhere. I don't know about the reliability(turbo, 4wd system), can easy to make fast car on the onroad, offroad. well, in my case, gr86 is better for me.

enough torque on that surface. can't fully open the throttle mine.
The GR86 has a really good power curve on that new engine. I think he could've pushed it even further.
