Gayle, Love, love, love your videos and your cheerfully delivered explanations. You mentioned that there would be a million suggestions so another will not be a surprise. Here goes…Apply a coating of mod podge to the backside of your strips and allow to dry before weaving. You can still apply dabs of glue to hold your strips together as you weave. When the weave is complete, iron the piece (protect your iron and ironing board with deli paper) and voila….you can cut apart into tags and no further gluing in needed. Thank you for letting me but in. Your fan, Donna.

Oh my gosh Donna that is brilliant. I did this and made journal cards with the same issue of them staying together. I’m absolutely going to try this! Thanks for the tip. And as always Gayle, great video. ❤️

Hey Gayle! I actually sat down and did this with you today. It was fun! I didn't have enough scrap strips like you did, but just cut up paper into 1/2 inch strips, size based on scrap strips I already have. I used 4 different papers that had Spring colors and glued each row down as I went along. It sure turned out really pretty. So much so I don't want to make cards until I scan the entire woven paper so I can use it again and again. And then I'll cut out the cards.
We had a snow storm today. About 10 inches fell and is blowing all over the place. Looks like Puxatawney, PA groundhog called things right this year with a long winter. Though, it was in the 50s a few days ago.
Well, my friend, I hope you're day is going well. Hugs! God bless! Sue ❤

Glad you revisited this idea! I made a 6x6 weaved paper the 1st time you showed this idea and loved it. Time to make more Gayle tags! The current way of the world just breaks my heart for all those people in the Ukraine. Also feel so bad for the people in Russia who are opposed to what is happening. I have a ton of videos to catch up on! Haven't been able to get any Gayle time this past week. I hate feeling ill. Hugs....

Lovely tags made from your weaving sheet! I do a bit of a different thing when I do mine. I also usually use a 12x12 paper as the backing and I do glue the top edge as you do, weave the same as you, then glue the outer 3 remaining edges like you , now is the different part. This way may not be faster to all, but I don't do it for a time saver, but it does secure it better and gives added texture, I take it to my sewing machine and run stitches over all the strips, sometimes I mix up the stitching other times I only do straight stitching, sometimes I do like a random crazy type line (circles, spirals, boxes etc) all over and other times I just sew a line down the center of the strips. You can cut these apart now without worrying the center is going to shift and you can still glue the random loose edges on the tags where/if needed. If I had an embroidery machine still I would even add a few flowers or butterfies mixed in with the stitching!
I have also used iron on fusible to put on the back of the 12x12 before you start weaving. Weave your strips on top of the fusible side. After the weaving is done just cover the woven paper with a pressing cloth or parchment paper then iron it down, works great no or little gluing needed. This technique also allows you to weave in some of those shorter 1/2 inch lace pieces for another type look! Just other ideas for you to try or not.
*hugs & prayers* thanks for the daily smiles and inspiration Gayle it is much appreciated! Much love winging its way from Alabama to Montana!

I recently showed my friend the paper weaving video because I made so many from your earlier videos and know to save branding strips. She had to make one (12×12) right away. She used her strips, combined them with mine and created a beautiful weave. Some corners were more yellow with blue, others green, browns and tans. She's loved paperctafting because of your video inspirations.

What fun! I would scan the whole piece before cutting it up after spending so much time creating it! My scanner couldn't handle a 12 by 12 but doing it in sections would give fodder for some more fun tags later on when printed on cardstock. I'm also seeing myself printing the images on copy paper to use as journal pages, patchwork pockets and belly bands. Thanks for the ideas!

We have a fur baby that loves laying in the sun, problem is she lays belly exposed and because she has little fur she sunburns if we don’t get her out of the sun especially in the Spring and Summer months. That’s so neat that Alfie is a sun dog some breeds aren’t.

One more idea on how to do this 🤣. What if you glued an undecorated strip horizontally to the bottom of all the vertical strips? You’d lose one row at the bottom, but I think being able to lift it in one piece for gluing would make it worthwhile. You might even be able to glue an undecorated strip to each set of vertical strips - to mimic a loom. Fun to experiment. 😁🥰

I've done this with gelli prints and my own multimedia art and been very happy with the results. Also striking when you use black and white multimedia design. When cut up and then randomly put back back together, it looks awesome. Only negative is it adds time because you have to cut your own strips.
