i am working on expression based modelling automation. mostly use conditional expressions to automate the model. can u help me what can i learn to bolster my work experience? what will be a good addition to this work? is expression based automation any good ? advice is appreciated. thank you

Thank you for this instruction. I'm wandering if I can insert a string into another? For example, there are "xyz-S-1", "xyz-S-2", "xyz-S-3"..., now I want them to become "xyz-M-1", "xyz-M-2", xyz-M-3".... Can I just creat a list_options with "S" and "M", all these strings will change accordingly. Thanks for your time.
I am unsure of your suggestion. Do you want to use the expressions editor in the CAM environment? If so, there should be nothing stopping you from using it.
Great tip! Could one create a simplified dialog (custom?) such that the user only sees the options that can be changed (not necessarily locking the expressions window, but only offering what can be changed in a standalone window, so it's cleaner, perhaps even with description or tooltips for each options). hopefully not through script..
Mat, the only way that I can think of doing that would be through NX journaling. If necessary, you can also export these to a spreadsheet and them import them back. Hope it helps.

I always try to make things simple to use, and so I was thinking if one can have a template part, say of a gear "blank" and inputs gear parameters in said window, then it becomes a very useful part template, as an example. Looks like it's possible, journaling would give you the script command equivalent, and one would have to create a script to render a window of options, but might not be too hard. Thanks again. @@mathieusan If this is the case, you might want to also check out Product Template Studio. It basically allows you to create a predefined piece of geometry that you can alter based on what you put in there. For example, supposed you have a flange with a certain OD and ID. You can create this part and you PTS to assist you in creating iterations of it by inputting these values.
Hi, I would like to know how to extract number from "point expression". This is what I am working on: I am measuring "point's coordinate" in terms of x, y, z value from "Measure Point" command. I like to extract "Z" coordinate. How can I do it?
When you take this measurement, make sure to hit the ASSOCIATIVE button in the measurement menu. Afterwards, you can open the expression editor and the item will be located there.

( if else ) if select size 6 all rest of parameters should Change automatically. I want built this for all sizes. I want this standard table by using expressions and attributes with conditional statements only. Which should use like library with in part model/file. Note : I don't want use spreadsheet for standard table. But at same time I want to retrieve the data from txt.file. Please let me know is it possible. ?
