Thank you, Michael I. Jordan is a legend in the field. His papers & research are foundational to Bayesian networks in ML & Stats. His formalisation of variational methods for approximate inference & expectation-maximization algorithms are central to modern ML. He has 35+ yrs of CNN/ANN model & theory development. Truly one of the legends.

He then goes on to discuss the many ways that deep learning has been used to change industries. As Jordan points out, deep learning is still a relatively new technology, and there are still many challenges that need to be addressed. However, the potential benefits of deep learning are enormous, and it is clear that this technology is poised to change the world in many ways.
