Another extremely famous case that used this defense strategy was for Ronald "Butch" DeFeo Jr. In the court case that concerned Mr. DeFeo murduring his entire family in their beds as they slept. The murder happened in a little hamlet and spawned a series of movies and books. You know it as "The Amityville Haunting."
I'm from NorCal and on the night of December 4, 2012, an airman from Travis Air Base (just 10 minutes from my hometown), was involved in what in California is called a "Watson murder", which is where someone dies as a result of someone driving under the influence or intoxicated. The airman, Alex Perez, 24, drank $32 worth of alcohol at an Applebee's in my hometown, then climbed into his brand new Chevy Silverado and drove 80mph, 30 over the posted speed limit, and struck and killed 28 year old Moses Sala, a father of 2. Mr. Sala's body ended up 500 feet from where Mr. Perez's truck came to a stop, and his body was not discovered until the next morning. Mr. Perez fled the scene, leaving his truck. When asked why he left, he said he didn't know he had hit anyone. In 2015, he was sentenced to 11 years for a Watson Murder, which is considered second degree murder in California. He was also fined $20,000.00 USD. For those wondering, here's what the difference between the tiers of murder charges, I'll give examples: 1) First Degree Murder is where you plan to kill someone and do the necessary steps to do so. Mark David Chapman, the man who assassinated John Lennon, committed first degree murder. 2) Second Degree is when you don't intend to kill someone outright, but you do something dangerous or that you know could lead to someone dying, and you do it anyway, and as a result, someone dies. The drunk driving case I mentioned earlier is an example. 3)Vehicular Manslaughter, my nephew was driving completely sober, and was involved in an accident where he hit someone on a motorcycle while driving his mother (my cousins) SUV, unfortunately the biker died. That is vehicular manslaughter. No malice was intended, yet somehow someone ended up dead from a car accident of some kind. 4) Manslaughter, this is where someone dies by accident and shouldn't have, and there weren't any risk factors beyond normal everyday life. Say you tripped someone on the stairs on accident and they fell down the stairs and died, you could be charged with Manslaughter. Although that's a weak example and it would probably be considered accidental. Now this one isn't a charge, it's an interesting term coroner's can use as a manner of death instead of homicide, s**cide, accidental, or natural causes. It's called "death by misadventure", meaning someone may or may not have been doing something dangerous and ended up dead. Death by misadventure is what is listed on Bruce Lee's death certificate. He died after having a headache at his costars house while running lines, he took a popular OTC headache pill sort of like excedrin, laid down on the bed to take a nap, and Mr. Lee never woke up.
(Haven't gotten quite to the end yet, so excuse me if this is mentioned) The older priest is played by John Noble, who portrayed Denethor in Jackson's LOTR.
This movie was awesome in theaters!! Idk what it is but after i saw the conjuring movies I like to go read more about the real cases and there is actually a documentary about this family and was pretty disturbing. They have it on Netflix but not sure if it is still there.
In my opinion, regarding your question about why it started with David at the beginning of the movie, there was actually a mention regarding "the son of god (Ed), the lover (Arne), and there's David (I don't remember the term they used for him 😂)". the witch needed the three of them to complete the ritual, if not, the witch's soul will be offered to the devil. My opinion tho, 😂 that's how I understood the movie the first time I watched it

Lorriane Warren showed up a lot on a "ghost hunting" show about a decade ago called Paranormal State. She looked like a sweet old woman but could be quite chilling in real life.
I loved my waterbed - California King, the headboard looked almost the same. I only gave it up because it was too hard to keep up the maintenance for me. The cats and dog loved it too. It had stabilizers so it didn't do the endless wave thing.
I had a California king one too, the heater that kept the water warm was SO nice although the bed itself wasn’t all that comfortable which is what made me finally get rid of it lol
I love John Noble! Me and my dad watched the tv show ‘Sleepy Hollow’ when it aired and watched all 4 seasons. I really wish they would’ve been able to go more seasons. I loved that show loved the lore along with having it being about the past with our Founding Fathers. I just thought it was cool definitely up my alley of the kind of things I like to watch. But I just love John Noble’s voice it’s so deep and gives me chills it almost reminds me of James Earl Jones. Another beloved actor with an amazing voice! ❤️❤️❤️☺️

Another airman from the same base just 1 year prior also committed a Watson Murder when he struck an SUV driven by a 60 year old father and grandfather, killing him. I had jury duty for that case but they selected the jury before I ever got into the jury box. My first jury duty was for a murder trial lol.

Gentleman I recommend you should check out Nefarious. It’s a psychological horror thriller about a psychiatrist who has to determine if a man claiming he’s demonically possessed is mentally unstable so as to avoid the death penalty. Basically it’s an encounter with a demon and the psychiatrist a la “The Green Mile”. It is considered a Christian movie so some may not believe what the themes are that make it such a horrifying movie!☮️
You want know the real case just google it guys, the guy who killed has already been released from prison few years back i think and even now he still said he was possessed by a demon. He cant remember stabbing the person at all.

I’m here!! ❤ I have watch this movie like three times and I still don’t fully understand it. Maybe I need to watch a video of someone explaining it to me. Also I know on some platform they have a documentary of the child who was first possessed being interview but now as a full grown man.
People say this movie is the worst of the three but it is head and shoulders above the second one to me. The second one had too many hokey jumpscares. The Crooked Man alone dragged that whole movie down. They could have easily just left that part out and it would’ve been less hokey.
My Mom had a water bed when I was a kid, and I LOVED IT. Lmao, when I was 14, we went to visit family friends at their home in (Pryce? Im sorry, I can't remember how it's spelled) Price/Helper, Utah, and one of his twin sons had a water bed. We decided to get in the bed and watch some movies (he was 19, and he's also gay and our parents were home for anyone who wants to freak out about that part lol). He grabbed us some ice cream and I grabbed us drinks and some other snacks and we went down to his room. I put my stuff down and laid stomach down on the bed. He went back upstairs to get something (or so he said), he came running down the steps, FLUNG himself onto the bed, and I popped up 3 feet in the air and off the bed lmao. I was okay and we both about peed ourselves laughing, and then he wanted a turn lol. It was like the blob at summer camp lmao. So don't jump into bed unless you want to make your partner into an airplane.
Michael Chaves directed "The Conjuring 3" and "The Curse of La Llorona". I think this is why the movie has a different feel to it, I think he did a good job.
This movie to me isn't as scary compared to the other 2, but I love the detective/investigation aspect of it. How the witch is of current time, because when I first watch the movie. I thought they were using the method of a different era and time or something for the witch. She just looked like she was from the 1900s. Edit: Also them adding the detail of Ed having heart problems into the movie was a nice touch, because I believe the real Ed died of a heart attack.

Spectral evidence is still NOT admissible in court because ANYONE of ANY religious or supernatural belief could use it and because there's no way to objectively verify any of it. These movies get a ton wrong about the case history and it's laughable that they have the gall to say they're based on "true" stories. You'd need to make a ton of fallacious presuppositions to believe that. They're good for a decent scare but anyone who believes these events, and all the underlying theology you need to assume first, are completely irrational.
In the movie yer Patrick and Vera, but the real life warrens were fraudsters and pair of corners scammers they basically made up and created an entire career out of scamming people they were fraudsters managed to lure in manipulate hundreds of niave GULLABLE people how you think they made there MONEY that was there career but they were liars and biggest pair of fraudsters there were

I dont know why most people dislike La Llorona. I personally think it was scarier than some of the later Anabelle sequels, Nuns and this movie.
