lmao its funny the way he said it but you get what he means right? it would break his concentration if he hears that kind of advice because he has to digest it mid match
What a fun pair. Daigo is too cool for school in this video, like he should be out squatting smoking cigarettes between matches. Meanwhile Nuki seems like the nicest most caring dude on the planet haha.
Man I would have to explain SBO drama to newer players and they sound so enthralled by the idea of the drama that's behind picking teams and losing friendships and stuff haha. When evo did this for guilty gear I had to deal with this multiple times with people dropping off near last minute or they found another team. The stress behind finding strong team mates for a big event is a different type of stress from just training to be good and depending on yourself
Being new to the FGC it's always fun to see stuff like this. I fuckin lost it when Daigo said "Oh so you can parry that?". The deeper I fall down this rabbit hole the more I wish I'd had the chance to fall down sooner.
Nuki : It's a dream to team up with Daigo , i'm the happiest i've ever been in a tournament, meanwhile , Daigo parrying his handshakes and being stone cold xD
Man Obama. You really the real mvp of the FGC posting some of these videos with captions. Really looking forward to these kind of videos, I really love it May your sub count rise like the dough in papa johns prejudice filled pizza rolls
Obama you a real one for these types of content. Ever since markman and nopants did the tekken 5 video translation, I wanted to see more of these pop up. I understand a lot of work goes into these so I wanted to say thank you for this!
14:45, lmao he went straight for that wallet once the round was lost. It’s so hard to not smile while watching this, I feel so happy for them even though this was like almost 2 decades ago.
First time seeing something like this. I loved it, took me back to the old school documentaries where it was raw footage and no need for all the extra effects
I don't usually comment, but I have to say: Keep 'em coming! I didn't care when this stuff was happening, so now that I do, it's great to have a resource to turn to find some interesting FGC history, presented as is! Mad respect, thanks for continuously giving back to the community
First got introduced to the wholesome adventures of Umenuki from cafe hamejun....thanks Obama for sharing more tapes on this rivalry/friendship....seeing them look so young hit my nostalgia bone. Great video keep it up king!
That was really cool to see. And it's a weird feeling, because when I first got into the FGC scene, which was around 2010, things like the Daigo parry or SBO stories sounded like they were from a lifetime ago, but it was only 6 or so years back.
This content is so damn important to the history of the fgc imo, it's incredible being able to learn about the culture in other countries with how they handle fighting game events! Love this kinda stuff
Thanks for the incredible work. Seeing how all of those player are still active in the scene really make you feel they deserve all of their credit. I just hope to see even more of thoses kind of content. Thanks 🙏
I remember finding this documentary a while ago on youtube untranslated in parts. I still watched and enjoyed it. Time to watch it a second time and actually understand whats going on. Matsuda commentary always carries btw :)
Man I miss this atmosphere. Final Round, Kumite in Tennessee, SoCal and NorCal Regionals, Frosty Faustings etc. We gotta get back to this. Fighting games are so much more than just the game.
Daigo got that style tho For real, I'm devouring this boomer shit, please bring as much as you can. Having started on the FGC because of Fighting Tuesday, I'm pretty new around these parts, and every video like this is a little insight on how things have developed over the years, which is great to have around now and into the future. Bless Rizeben and you for these
Damn the final match at the end was so sick. The first crouch short, ever so slight delay, then double crouch short into confirm because he knows that vs yun specifically the spacing works and shorts wont whiff. Daigo said he worked really hard to beat KO at evo 04 but he lost then, so sbo 05 was his revenge and he put all that vs yun practice to good use. Damn he was godlike at this game
Too many highlights. This was super sick! Daigo: Yell all you want but don't you dare give me advice or I'll be pissed. Nuki > cheers him on and doesn't say anything as he loses. Daigo > immediately can't help commenting on Nuki's play 😂😂 =========== MOV being the punk "young" kid that needs to be put in place is hilarious. =========== Daigo amazed at the Chun super parry attempt! ============ Daigo's role on the team basically being "prep time Daigo" while Nuki handles all the other matchups. ============== Keep'em coming!
big up @Rizeben
Appreciate it big dawg
@@Eklipz155 You did the translation? If so, thank you for your effort
I always appreciate the preservation of history
@@Eklipz155 Thanks dude
Yeah thanks for those translations
Daigo saying "oh, so you can parry that?" had me dying laughing.
*[Ume-chan Will Remember That]*
Yeah, that made me wonder if this was before or after that had happened. Turns out this was after. lol
@@celeschan90 so instead of asking "oh you can parry that?", it was actually "oh YOU can parry that?"
@@mrgameandmusic Yeah, lol
it was more that he didnt expect the red parry if anything else
Daigo '00s drip was something else. That hat
Fighting game players used to have drip
Props to the absolute fucking madman that went out there dressed as a Precure and of all things mained Hugo.
Hayao, he is a beast.
The best Hugo there is.
Hayao can do anything he wants
Daigo said don't give me advice this man a whole goon
lmao its funny the way he said it but you get what he means right? it would break his concentration if he hears that kind of advice because he has to digest it mid match
@@doogies Yea I love how he explains its because he WILL try to listen and not that he doesnt want to hear it. Even his confidence is humble.
Boomer Shit should become a series
It's genuinely amazing to hear the testimony of someone who witnessed all sorts of cool stuff from FGC's history
"You can be as loud as you want just dont give me advice" is now my favorite daigo quote.
"Umehara-san, which team do you fear the most right now?"
"Yes"
This was so fucking wholesome. Seeing friendships like this in competitive sports, esports or otherwise always gives me a fuzzy feeling on the inside
Oh I need to go make some food before I dive into this. I’m really digging the mix of content you’re putting out.
I appreciate it! was one of my goals when I started the channel
Getting something to eat before watching a video is the highest compliment that can be payed
Damn, Obama, the content you are bringing is fucking golden. The way Daigo casually shit talks everybody in such a calm way is crazy.
Amanojyaku?
bro you know its hype when you got the vhs tapes intro i feel at home again
I feel like this kind of content belongs in a museum to be preserved and studied. It's culture man, so cool to get these slices of time immortalized.
“It was really, ugh, easy”
Damn Daigo
This got me like so this is why the call him the beast
10:00
Watching Diago ask and be surprised that the other player was able to Parry Chun-Li's super is something else
he was talking about the red parry, not just the super parry
What a fun pair. Daigo is too cool for school in this video, like he should be out squatting smoking cigarettes between matches. Meanwhile Nuki seems like the nicest most caring dude on the planet haha.
that’s the exact same impression i got lol
Yo 2000's Daigo is unreal, the drip, the shit talk at the end
At the end, "You really are godlike!"
OD comment.
ngl i prolly aint watching this whole thing but that intro got a like from me dawg. good post
Man I would have to explain SBO drama to newer players and they sound so enthralled by the idea of the drama that's behind picking teams and losing friendships and stuff haha.
When evo did this for guilty gear I had to deal with this multiple times with people dropping off near last minute or they found another team. The stress behind finding strong team mates for a big event is a different type of stress from just training to be good and depending on yourself
to this day im jealous you had the chance to participate at that time
This was a special treat. Appreciate this look back showing their dynamic as a duo. Those in between round moments are really special.
thanks for watchin
What a gem. Thanks for sharing it, and for all the hard work on the channel (the "boomer shit" intros in particular are too good)
no way i could do it all by myself. thanks for supportin and coming through
0 dislikes is telling. Killer upload Obama
This channel really doing work.
Great job lads.
Much appreciated! glad you enjoy
Also Nuki: the only officially recognized champion at Ehrgeiz. Ever.
Stellar work. It's so cool to see the two gods Daigo and Nuki teaming up back in the day.
Videos like this are why I'm subscribed. It's definitely not because of the strive hate lmao
yeah u gotta hold that lmao
thanks tho
The most classic. Best case scenario for dinner and a movie.
You guys are the best!!
seriously filling an old school hole in my heart , loved every second of this
Man Obama. You really the real mvp of the FGC posting some of these videos with captions. Really looking forward to these kind of videos, I really love it
May your sub count rise like the dough in papa johns prejudice filled pizza rolls
its gone down since the release of this vid actually lmao
but thanks for coming through man!
Obama you a real one for these types of content. Ever since markman and nopants did the tekken 5 video translation, I wanted to see more of these pop up. I understand a lot of work goes into these so I wanted to say thank you for this!
11:28 probably the best handshake i've ever seen
14:45, lmao he went straight for that wallet once the round was lost. It’s so hard to not smile while watching this, I feel so happy for them even though this was like almost 2 decades ago.
I love how Nuki is basically melting fools the entire time but Daigo still gets to come in clutch at the end.
That red parry from the Akuma was almost so sick, red parrying during that super is really hard.
that akuma is a godlike player btw
@@doogies who was it
Seeing Nuki's genuine reaction to winning the tourney was super wholesome, I got really happy for him.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed!
daigo seems high as fuck for this entire thing, look at that lax smile after winning grand finals
Weed in japan isnt a thing but its freaking crazy how much of a dead on stoner Daigo looks and sounds like.
right? no way this guy didn't smuggle some shit back from america
That CVS2 All Rights Reserved outro was *chefs kiss*
Everywhere this doc went was amazing. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked the subtitling for this! Now we can all go ahh!!! All nuances covered w/this particular tougeki 05 upload!
First time seeing something like this. I loved it, took me back to the old school documentaries where it was raw footage and no need for all the extra effects
Thank you for uploading and translating these. Real good stuff. Me and my buddies love your vids.

Damn Chibita seems like a real character
you will prob be seeing him on VFUS stuff soon
He plays Leon too. U know he vibes with his obnoxious win quotes.

You're translating this? So much thanks (Mtach and MOV look so young can't even recognize them xD)
match, MOV, deshiken, KO, Boss, Matsuda, YSB, Hayao....16 years ago man haha
When the intro is legendary, you already know the content is legendary! My best friend recommend this, amazing vid!
Nuki: (To Daigo): "You really are godlike"
Daigo (to who knows) "huh...yeah, I know" (awkward handshake and leaves for next challenge!)
Wow, thanks!
"whats on your mind daigo"
"uh it was actually kinda really easy"
wild

My favourite anime right now!

Oh man oh man imma need the laptop and some popcorn for this one

Crazy how young alot of these 3S gods were! And most of these players are still active! This is why FG's cant die, its too hype!
That was really cool to see. And it's a weird feeling, because when I first got into the FGC scene, which was around 2010, things like the Daigo parry or SBO stories sounded like they were from a lifetime ago, but it was only 6 or so years back.
10:03 was really the start of something amazing
Shit, man, just watched it. Imagine if it really was the inspiration? That'd be crazy...

NO way. Tell the class
Ogawa won a fighting game tournament in a gimp suit? I have to see it.
Loved this. Expected to see more VF footage lmao. Thanks for uploading this.

For me, it's incredible to see how even back then, Daigo's speech and energy is still unmistakably him. Godlike video.

I like the second dude walking up @19:26 doin the anime glasses push up with no glasses.

"Oh you can parry that?" I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT!
