What a treasure it is to enjoy paradise with your parents! But wow! So much Mexican food in Hawaii. Well, you must be paying homage to the paniolos! Great history behind them. Surprised you didn't eat more traditional food like poi and poke and pupus and more fish. Duke's is a staple for most visitors with the ever popular Hula Pie dessert. It seems that you did have a malasada, that lilikoi (passionfruit) pastry you had for breakfast. When you return, check our the updated and upscaled International Market. Glad you had fun in the sun. A book recommendation (if you haven’t already read) “The Summer I Turned Pretty” by Jenny Han. It’s very similar to Every Summer After and gives you all the same feels.
