Both Bischoff and Kahn aren't business-first people. One example showing that is that Kahn fired a big star over some fights or insults (which always happen and shouldn't get a star fired) and Bischoff agreed with him on his podcast. Kahn and Bischoff showed there that if they have really hurt feelings, making them known is more important than making a lot money. Tony’s booking would’ve ruined Austin. Then again, Austin would’ve told him where to shove it and which way to shove it
If tony listen to him to being with
I used to be a wrestling observer subscriber. But I just got tired of all this mark commentary and gargling of Tony Khan's nuts.
I would pay serious money myself to see Tony Khan trying to negotiate with Hall and Nash
I agree cuz Tony has never ending money
No. Just no. Tony Khan would have crumbled.
"If Tony Khan poured millions and millions of dollars into WCW it wouldn't have gone under". Brilliant observation! Genius stuff!
And even then it isn't, Because that's exactly what Ted Turner did.
I always feel like Melzer is a little stiff when he talks about these things
It's crystal clear that Dave is completely bias and has a blind spot for his buddy Tony. The only reason to listen to anything he has to say about the wrestling business is to laugh at it.
With his work with Tony, Meltzer is adding his name to the likes of Heenan, Heyman, Paul Bearer, and Jim Cornette as some of the best wrestling mangers in the business. We need Meltzer to take a full heel turn and shoot a promo.
There's a subtlety here: "WCW would never have gone out of business" which is true. Tony would have put all of his allowance into it and it would have been in business until he found a new favourite toy.
What I wouldn’t give to see Tony Khan tell late 90’s Scott Steiner anything, at all, ever.
Listening to Dave talk about Tony is like listening to Vince talk about Shawn in the mid 90's
2:07 exactly
"...would've never lost Austin." Without being fired and going to ECW, Steve doesn't have the same chip on his shoulder to become Stone Cold, so we would have a happier Stunning Steve.
No one thought Stunning Steve Austin with mediocre "Stun Gun" finisher would be the Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin with with iconic "Stunner"
This is one of the most insane things that Meltzer has ever said, and that’s saying something.
We'll need to call them "Dave & Tony Russo"
Because they want all of the credit and none of the blame
