- "Damascus with Love" (by Syrian director Mohamad Abdul Aziz) is a Syrian film that takes its viewers into the heart of Damascus and captures the most stunning imagery of Syria, one that is seldom portrayed in today's media. The movie was made pre-revolution, it takes up the social, not the political, issues of Syrian society. It sheds light on the minority Christian and Jewish sects within Syria, and depicts their rootedness to their homeland, as well as the rich colours they bring into the Syrian canvas. The imagery in the movie is simply breathtaking...
A story about a jewish woman who tries to find her christian lover who was lost in the city of different religions and cultures.

The film's synthesis is wonderful and the characters overlap as well, indicating the extent of the societal, ethnic and religious diversity, from the Christian to the Kurdish and to the Alawi. The main character, the Jew, as a whole, indicates how wonderful Syria was in the past. Unfortunately, this harmony and coexistence ended.. for reasons. Interventions. From inside and outside..

الفيلم الأجمل 👏🏻
يمكن لمن يتابع الفلم أن يلمح رسائل عميقة فيه لكن بكل أسف لم يتم التعبير عنها بسلاسة ، ربما بسبب الحشو الكثير في متن القصة ، وربما بسبب الاستغراق في رغبة العاملين على الفلم بمنحه المزيد من الإبهام ، لكن الإبهام دون وجهات حبكة مثيرة ينقلب إلى إطالة لا تغني العمل ..
ومع هذا فإن أخذنا فكرة القصة للفلم فهي جيدة وعموما أجواء الفلم كانت محزنة فعلا بسبب معاناة جزء هام من شعب سوريا تم التعتيم عليه وعلى معاناته حتى تم دفعه للهجرة لعدة أسباب ربما السياسية أبرزها .. ومع ذلك فإن قلوب هؤلاء ولاشك كانت لا تزال تنبض في دمشق .. وهذا حسب فهمي المتواضع ما أراد الفلم أن تحمله رسالته وقد كان موفقا فعلا في اثباته .. بالإضافة إلى أنه يسجل للفيلم الجرأة في تحميل الفيلم تلك المضامين التي يعتبرها البعض حظورة وخطيرة وخصوصا أولئك الذين يسعون بكل جهد لمحو كل آثار يهود دمشق من يومياتها .. ويفشلون دوما طبعا . لأن ذاكرة دمشق صلبة كحجارة الصوان ولا يمكن أن تنسى أبنائها مهما اختلفت مذاهبهم وأديانهم وأعراقهم ، ولا يمكن أن تسمح بذلك مهما أراد بعض سكانها الطارئين

@@ExtremeWreck Syrian and Japanese are very different cultures which can't be compared to each other. It's a good movie if you could understand what the point is but you can't so go to Japan. By the way, the film isn't political it's about humanity_ all people are equal no matter what their religions are / the best language is music and love
