I had my first baby in India. I never had given cereals to my baby. Reason is, I have started reading the label content when I started shopping for my kid and started researching when I was pregnant. I gave only home made food.
I had my second baby in Germany, here also I started researching but I have shocked after seeing the ingredients and how much government give importance to the food industry.
All the baby foods are without adding sugar ingredients. After seeing all these food regulations really we are way behind in protecting our kids life in India. Somehow without knowing in India we started giving oil and added sugar content to the kids and we too started consuming.
A request to all the parents check what is your kid is eating and give them a healthy food. The future generations health is only in the parents care. No one is going to take responsibility if anything happens to our kid health because of some food.
Our government no one follow rules and regulations. Human value very poor here.

Almost all the international brand products even kfc(oil), Domino's. How about curd and milk like the brand can give an expired date (15 days) compared to aavin and amul has less than 3 days validity
Lot of things to consider:
1) Like you mentioned use your senses don’t fall for advertisements
2) Majority of the authority here lies on our Government, FDA should handle this in first place.
3) We have lot of healthy naturals within our place, remember our childhood we had better food
4) Bog companies are only for earning money at any cost so we should take steps on not using it as simple as that no need to create a ban or strike.
5) Simple - use our own brain, don’t fall for advertisements.

My opinion is use local products more, ensure local regulators do their job. International products especially US based is the most untrustworthy products.
