    Just a note on the NoIR lasses -- The glasses you get from Thor Labs are actually NoIR brand, and they're cheaper through Thor. Also, the link to your buying guide is broken (as linked from your Laser Lenses link). Finally, I think the Amazon seller with the Starrett 135A realized how popular these have become and they increased the price by about 30% to $44.90.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that. I'll get the link fixed and check out the Thor glasses! Also boo on the Starrett levels that sucks.

    Starrett is the most accurate tool you can buy. Nothing compares. The tape measures, rulers, etc even have the fractions down to a 32nd of an inch, whereas most others go to a 16th at most. Preferred by machinists and engineers when tolerance is an important factor and although expensive, worth every penny.

    Hello, I am a fresh owner of a jpt MOPA m7 60w fiber laser and I wonder If AC infinity s4 will be enough? or I should go for s6? I do need only a quiet fan (baby upstairs) and just the speed control and nothing else. (this is why im avoiding the T series). Any recommendation?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly recommend adapting the S6 down to a 4" hose for the fiber lasers. The extra CFM makes a big difference and it's a minimal difference in noise level. Extraction is really important for health and safety, for that reason I'd go with the S6.

    The "air in a can" is actually a refrigerant. NEVER spray canned refrigerant into a Mac while it is powered on, because if the refrigerant forms a liquid pool on one specific component the encryption key will be lost along with all data on the SSDs. Modern MacBooks will no longer boot if this chip is fried and replacing it will not restore the encryption key.
    If using any compressed air, then ensure the air system incorporates a properly function air dryer before blowing air toward or into a computer.

    Starrett measuring tools used to be made in America, but they've been made in China for several years. The quality is no better than Mitutoyo, if Mitutoyo isn't superior now. When purchasing Mitutoyo look for the tools which are made in Japan, for the quality is much better than those made in Brazil.

    Will welding glasses work ?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No x 1,000 - welding glasses and helmets are only designed to be opaque to light in the visible spectrum (400-700nm) not above (UV 355nm) or below (IR 1064-10600nm). Always use laser eye protection that has the effective wavelength printed on the lenses.

    The advice on just "blowing out" the contents of a fire extinguisher as a matter of policy is just AWFUL. Your extinguisher can absolutely cause damage, and if it's a small fire there is definitely a point at which you're just adding chemical damage to the situation or putting YOU at risk by filling the room with CO2. Either way, you'll clearly want to let the room air out, but there's no sense in just adding more CO2 for its own sake.
