A fast way to make a grilled cheese is to toast the bread first, butter it if desired, and then put the cheese in and give it a zap in the microwave to melt it. If you want to make cross hairs on a screen just tape crossing black thread across the screen or a clear piece of window cling film from holiday decorations. As for oil\fat floating on top of pan or pot you want to remove just lay paper towel on it let it soak it up and then remove it and repeat it if there more to take out.
