I have loved this film. I don't see anything negatie to say about it. It's powerfully emotional. It deals with a subject that I have rarely seen in cinema, and a very contemporary topic.. ! All actors are amazing. The plot is simple yet all the human relationships.. all the human feelings pop out. Delivering a strong message. Sarandon can just roll her eyes, pull a certain face and I'm in tears.
I just watched the movie about hours ago. And i from Asia, it is blow my mind, bcause of we here didn't even once in a life think about willingly and so committed to take our own life. Iam shaking. Like how come.
Quality of life issue but also in American culture, families aren’t as close so when you have an illness, you get hospitalized/put in a home, etc. it’s an individualistic society so no one wants to take care of you/treats you like a burden. I have a birth defect but I’m also half Mexican, half Costa Rican so my family’s not QUITE that cold, but I’m 35 (what I have isnt terminal) and I can tell my family Is sick of me being sick all the time. Thanks guys. 🙄

It happening more now, Robin William's, is an example. And my family is no different, in my family their are five girls, one even went to the extent of going to the ER to get an excuse to exempt her from taking care of our mother there was nothing wrong with my mother just need daily care, she was 94. Another claimed she broke her leg, she wrapped it herself, and the oldest was just too up in age. Which was understandable. So we were down to two and a caretaker during the week, we (the two left) managed.
I found this film terrifying! As a senior Canadian, in a country where they’re using euthanasia to eliminate the old, sick, weak and poor, this is a slap in the face. People are agreeing to murder here because it’s too cold/dangerous for seniors and the disabled to live on the streets. This movie may be about choice; but, in Canada, it just reminds us of our pre-arranged murder! 😢
