This rhythm is reminiscent of the Brazilian style: bossa nova, very romantic and with a delicate balance. I think the images captured and tuned it so well! From the smooth movement of the singer's hands to the movement of pointers from the sound board ... in everything! Congratulations! Excellent job!
I keep referring back to this video for an example of a pristine vocal recording. It is simply flawless!
Of course, it spotlights the exquisite voice of Diana Panton and the venerable AKG C12 VR microphone.

This is what every musician dreams of; when the song and arrangement and singer and instrumentalists come together in the same feeling and produce exactly what the composer surely intended. I haven't heard this done better in sixty years.

One of the best renditions of this gem, replete with a rich expressive voice, crisp diction and chaste emotion. The absolutely superb piano and guitar accompaniment takes the melody to unscaled peaks of melodic nirvana !
The fine words of the song was not rushed and is playful. Diana Panton puts her whole heart in the singing of the song. The beauty of the song is matched by the accompanying music. Such music could not get closer to pure poetry.

What a lovely voice. I'm so touched to the core when Diana Panton sings. It makes me feel loved to listen to her. Very few voices have ever done that to me. She is truly gifted. She has more soul than most singers today.

Are there other singers who have a style similar to Diana Panton? She is unique. I've listened to many other jazz singers, and none of them are like her. Almost all Diana Panton songs are very smooth; she doesn't ruin it by trying to go too much up and down. I'm hopping that at least a couple of other singers can come close to her talent. Any recommendation is appreciated.
Have you ever heard Lisa Ono? She sings mainly bossa nova but it is really smooth too and her voice is sooooo sweet
I know this recording is reminiscent of Blossom Dearie's version from 1962 or 1963 from an album she made for Hire's Root Beer.
Nima Kasravi Stacey Kent is wonderful! Diana Panton sounds very similar.

This song takes me back to my childhood, takes me back to my true love. So many beautiful memories, makes my heart ache

I've listened to this several times as it often plays in my mind. This is definitely one of the best, if not the best version of this immortal song of our heart's longing. Diana sings with wonderful, heartfelt feeling. Don Thompson and Reg Schwager are also exceptional in the same way, blending in and weaving around Diana's beautiful voice. Indeed, I will be true.

Some folk cover classics and try to give them 'their' angle. Not many can sing it as it was intended and yet still give it something of their own. This is a wonderful, romantic, timeless song: ripe for ruining by singers who think they are better than they are. Diana isn't one of those. This is beautifully interpreted and sung - the song keeps its essence, but there is something fresh and new as well. Bravo! What a voice!

This is one of my favorite songs ever. The way Nat King Cole sings it so smoothly its warm and soothing. This is one of the first songs I ever learned when I starting learning how to sing. I actually have done a cover myself on my youtube channel. I think singing is very healthy for anyone, especially if they are dealing with depression or anxiety. It has definitely helped me in my life.
