I feel like the 2012 splinter and shredder have the best backstory of all as it, one reflects on what Leo's and Raphael's could've become and two it shows how Splinter was to become more wise and honorable while Shredder became a broken man full of rage and hate to the point of insanity.
It also displays how they are on equal footing with one another and the only times shredder wins is when splinter lowers his guard. Their dynamic is sad, emotional, and yet epic when they face off.
In all reality, this was a really nice series. At times it was goofy but when it came to story, that hit me hard especially when Splinter died. That was the first time seeing him die and it made me think on how the splinter from the Same as it never was episode died

so the big difference I see between Shredder and Splinter seems to be shown in the fight when Splinter's a mutant and Shredder's in his armor wearing his mask. Splinter's fully embraced, accepted, and taken advantage of his new form, using the rat part of him to enhance his abilities, and he's made stronger for it. Shredder never would have been able to do that, his whole identity, and persona is built around hiding and avoiding confronting his scars. he doesn't accept them as a part of who he is and is therefore not made stronger, and actually hurt by them, as they have driven his ego through the roof and made him unable to see past his pride and stubborn grudge.
I look at it as Shredder's jealousy of Splinter/Yoshi was slowly driving him mad, and Yoshi and his master tried to help him the best they could because Splinter still saw him as his brother, but the night he killed Tang Shen though, he lost what ever sanity he had left

this video of splinter vs shredder is a perfect representation of what happened between me and my ex best friend. we were both like brothers, both equally skilled in martial arts, he was just stronger. he was always jelous of what i had which was a steady girlfriend. one day it got too out of control and he hit her. we fought and we both got injured pretty badly. sad

It was only created for this series, as well as their origins differentiate them in the previous shows. He truly was a rat, the pet of a ninja named Hamato Yoshi in Japan. Intelligent for his species, Splinter is able to learn ninjutsu art by mimicking his master's movements while he practiced. till Oroku Saki invaded his property and avenged his brother's death because Hamato Yoshi killed him, Oruko killed Yoshi for revenge and splinter escaped by hiding in sewers. And the origins of Karai, are different too. In the original comics, Karai had no relation to Shredder. She came from Japan to New York City to unify the warring factions of the Foot Clan that had risen following the death of the Shredder. but in 2003 animated series; Karai was found and adopted by Ch'rell, the Utrom Shredder, after her parents abandoned her at a young age. He took her in and raised her as his own, teaching her ninjutsu.
You know, this scene from TMNT, splinter and saki reminds me of Orion pax and megatronus(before he became megatron) from transformers prime. First they became close friends, then brothers in arm, and at the end they would face difficult conflicts with each other and realized they both have different goals and ideals that just wouldn't work for either of them. The shredder is kinda similar to transformers prime Megatron, a true brother who Orion pax or splinter could trust but soon he fall down from grace and give in to vanity, desire, and lust for power. And it's quite similar between Orion pax and homoto yoshi, Homoto yoshi went from being a skilled martial artists to a spiritually strong and wise mutant rat master named splinter, then Orion pax went from being a simple data clerk librarian to a selflessness tough leader named optimus prime. The reason why they are so alike is that their both compassionate and self-sacrificing for others and loved ones. Human Splinter vs Human Shredder Well In this case im giving it to splinter, he was holding back when they fought at the dojo and even with that they were equally matched, although debatable for tie because we really dont know if splinter would of survived that last attack but im still giving it to him as shredder had weapons the entire fight 2. Splinter Vs Human Armored Shredder Splinter still wins, Its shown at Season 1, I get that shredder beats splinter at Season 2 but splinter just fought Kraang sub-prime and he is no joke, I get that Shredder also fought leatherhead but Kraang sub-prime is way stronger then leatherhead 3. 1. Human Splinter vs Human Shredder
Well In this case im giving it to splinter, he was holding back when they fought at the dojo and even with that they were equally matched, although debatable for tie because we really dont know if splinter would of survived that last attack but im still giving it to him as shredder had weapons the entire fight
2. Splinter Vs Human Armored Shredder
Splinter still wins, Its shown at Season 1, I get that shredder beats splinter at Season 2 but splinter just fought Kraang sub-prime and he is no joke, I get that Shredder also fought leatherhead but Kraang sub-prime is way stronger then leatherhead
3. Splinter Vs Super Shredder
Shredder wins this time, i get that shredder stabbed splinter in the back, but shredder was pretty much beating the hell out of splinter while splinter did minimal damage, and Shredder wasnt just fighting splinter in the fight, Splinter had help from many characters.
Facts but in the splinter vs super shredder you should mention that splinter did a really good job in the last few minutes he dodged his hits cut a few claws and also tripped him to fall of the building I know super shredder was more stronger but splinter used his skill instead of his strenght
