It is good to get hold of him when he comes to Nepal. Doing podcast of Hinduism with people from cult like ISKON gives very narrow view of the relegion.

Can I ask you a question like there were so many buddhas before Gautam Buddha then why Gautam Buddha is regarded as founder of Buddhism why not earlier buddhas
@@dipakmandal2248 Gautam Buddha never said he was the founder of Buddhism! According to a book I have read, some Buddhas never spread their knowledge-they had enlightenment but kept it to themselves. Some Buddhas were enlightened by their gurus' words and knowledge, while others Buddhas spread the knowledge they discovered and attained enlightenment. Gautam Buddha was one of the latter, who shared his knowledge. There might also be a lack of documentation.

Kashyap Buddha is same in both Hinduism and Buddhism according to description about him.like the place he was born,his parents and so on . I think Buddhism was never a religion but a philosophy.later on disciples of Gautam Buddha made it a religion with extra adding.

Ancient universities like nalanda, vikramshila, odantapuri, somapura and many more. the great indian scholars like nagarjuna, dharmakirti, chandrakirti, dignaga and 84 the great mahasiddhas, the great guru padmasambhava, vimalmitra, santarakshita, rinpoches..jankari bhako ramro ho jasto lagchha instead of saying that buddha was born nepal buddha was born in nepal bhanda.
Not knowing the truth and accepting it we tends to change the reality according to our conditioning .The gap between reality and expectation creats tension, stress, anxiety , depression and all kinds of emotional defilements. On present context, what is the middle path between need and want when it comes to health and medication? Best access to health is need for all mankind, so how to understand this in the context of SAMYEK DRISTI?
Mahayana Buddhism was formed later why? Simply because of rise of sunyabad. If you go back to Buddha he had not spoken about sunyabad in detail. it was carried forward by the later gurus after buddha so now what the question comes is who do you want to follow our supreme guru Buddha himself or the later gurus after Buddha. Those who sticked with Buddha or stayed away from sunyabad and all they became therabadi or hinayana or the elders way of Buddhism. And also therabadi follow the pali scripts where as Mahayana follow later developed sanscrit scriptures. As far as I know the difference between hinayana and Mahayana is their goal. In hinayana ultimate goal is to become Arahant where as in Mahayana their ultimate goal it to become Buddha. Ones target is Arahant Others target is Buddha. This is my understanding as a Buddhist. i dont support animal sacrifice but dark truth of nepal is most of the buddhist community consume more non veg than other community and most of the monasteries provide non veg food to there monks
1) so, if we look at Buddhism from the lens of the middle way, didn't the Buddha himself took the extreme path (abandoning his wife and his kid, and all his duties as the future king). 2) I thought one of the four noble truth literally meant suffering = desire and to be released from it is to not have any attachment (0 desire = 0 suffering). Then, doesn't the current greatest representor of Buddhism, the Dalai Lama desires the liberation of Tibet? 3) He talks about how everything is temporary (impermanent / forever changing), therefore, doesn't things like the ultimate truth, perfect realization contradicts with his statement ? am I making any sense?
I don’t see any problems in all the 3 points that you presented. When he left his palace, he was just a normal guy (not realized/enlightened). But regardless, it’s an insignificant detail, it’s the knowledge that matters. And regarding Dalai lama, who cares whatever he does. We can’t associate his actions with Buddha’s knowledge.
@@buffmomoOPthe knowledge matters. but I am just pointing out the paradox here, he claims we all ought to follow the middle way but the Buddha gained his Nirvana with extreme meditation and abandonment of all his earthly belongings. so, hadn’t he followed that path which he did he would have never gained the knowledge. so where do we draw the middle line? Coming back to Dalai Lama, pretty much every buddhist / buddhist philosopher cares what he says. he himself is the 14th reincarnation of one of the Buddha isn’t it?
He is Buddhist academic person, he is practicing bajrayani tantric, he also is practicing jotish. It would be better if you can arrange to talk with him on these subjects as well.

@@dipakmandal2248 Gautam Buddha never said he was the founder of Buddhism! According to a book I have read, some Buddhas never spread their knowledge-they had enlightenment but kept it to themselves. Some Buddhas were enlightened by their gurus' words and knowledge, while others Buddhas spread the knowledge they discovered and attained enlightenment. Gautam Buddha was one of the latter, who shared his knowledge. There might also be a lack of documentation.
@@anikshakya but there is no proof of other Buddha and their is no mention of other Buddha in any ancient texts other than Buddhist texts.I also want to say something like I am Hindu and in Hinduism Kashyap Buddha is regarded as avatar of Vishnu not Gautam Buddha and generally everyone misunderstood this.
Kashyap Buddha is same in both Hinduism and Buddhism according to description about him.like the place he was born,his parents and so on . I think Buddhism was never a religion but a philosophy.later on disciples of Gautam Buddha made it a religion with extra adding.

Simply because of rise of sunyabad. If you go back to Buddha he had not spoken about sunyabad in detail. it was carried forward by the later gurus after buddha so now what the question comes is who do you want to follow our supreme guru Buddha himself or the later gurus after Buddha.
Those who sticked with Buddha or stayed away from sunyabad and all they became therabadi or hinayana or the elders way of Buddhism. And also therabadi follow the pali scripts where as Mahayana follow later developed sanscrit scriptures.
As far as I know the difference between hinayana and Mahayana is their goal. In hinayana ultimate goal is to become Arahant where as in Mahayana their ultimate goal it to become Buddha.
Ones target is Arahant
Others target is Buddha.
This is my understanding as a Buddhist.

1) so, if we look at Buddhism from the lens of the middle way, didn't the Buddha himself took the extreme path (abandoning his wife and his kid, and all his duties as the future king).
2) I thought one of the four noble truth literally meant suffering = desire and to be released from it is to not have any attachment (0 desire = 0 suffering). Then, doesn't the current greatest representor of Buddhism, the Dalai Lama desires the liberation of Tibet?
3) He talks about how everything is temporary (impermanent / forever changing), therefore, doesn't things like the ultimate truth, perfect realization contradicts with his statement ? am I making any sense?
I don’t see any problems in all the 3 points that you presented.
When he left his palace, he was just a normal guy (not realized/enlightened). But regardless, it’s an insignificant detail, it’s the knowledge that matters.
And regarding Dalai lama, who cares whatever he does. We can’t associate his actions with Buddha’s knowledge.
@@buffmomoOPthe knowledge matters. but I am just pointing out the paradox here, he claims we all ought to follow the middle way but the Buddha gained his Nirvana with extreme meditation and abandonment of all his earthly belongings. so, hadn’t he followed that path which he did he would have never gained the knowledge. so where do we draw the middle line?
Coming back to Dalai Lama, pretty much every buddhist / buddhist philosopher cares what he says. he himself is the 14th reincarnation of one of the Buddha isn’t it?
He is Buddhist academic person, he is practicing bajrayani tantric, he also is practicing jotish. It would be better if you can arrange to talk with him on these subjects as well.
