I'm a fan of both Ailee and Ariana Grande but Ailee's version was way better in my opinion. 1. Ailee's enunciation was waaaay better and she doesn't sound like she's slurring her words or mumbling. 2. Ailee's breathing was better. If you go look up Ariana Grande's live performances, she runs out of breath in the middle of her lines were as Ailee doesn't seem to have that problem. 3. I like Ailee's vocals a lot more tbh. Ariana Grande's voice is nasalic when she sings and she sounds like a kid. Ailee's voice is powerful and grow up sounding (?). This is just my opinion guys. Don't get butt hurt.
dude everything you said is sooo true. I went and looked up ariana's performance live because of this comment... and it's.... awkward. Awkward breathing forreal, it ruins the flow of the song. Janarathiwat Smith Ailee's timbre is deeper. Thanks for noticing, genius. Besides, it does not look that easy for Ariana, either- like her "whistle notes" (LOL) tbh they're not even whistle notes, they're falsettos, and she certainly does not sound effortless.

I feel like Korean music producers don't know how to give her good songs or something. Watching this was like a breath of fresh air. I think Ari tries too :) I like the original version better because it's not as strong. She put a lot of power into the song which probably made it come off a little awkward for some. I like Ailee's powerful voice but it was just too powerful for this song ^.^
***** I agree lol, she sounded like she was sort of lip syncing, i'm not sure if this is true but at 2:25 her vocals overlapped each other, which is impossible if she's singing actual live. But if we're comparing their vocals, ari's was actually really strong too. It's just that belting is way too easy for ari because her voice is naturally high, so it might sound like there wasn't a lot of power in it, but ailee's voice is lower, so when she belts it sounds like it's more powerful, but they are actually hitting the same note on the same octave so, I think the "ailee went higher" comments I saw around here was really stupid.

Ailee singing Problem for the second time is a good choice because Girls Day didnt give the song justice on MAMA. When I watched this I was like Hell yah! Show them Ailee.
Ailee made me like the song because of her enunciation (sry Ariana) and how she can sing the lines without awkward breath intakes that interrupt the flow of the song like what Ariana sometimes does in her live performances (espescially with the "I should be wiser and realize that I've got" line). Though the performance wasn't perfect, Ailee still slayed. I hope that KBS Gayo Daejun is pairing up Taeyang and Ailee. :D
Is it wrong for other artists to use concepts that they like??? I don't think so. Tswift isn't all that original either. Everything we see and hear are copies of things that have already been done, including this performance and including all of what Tswift has done. Nothing is original anymore.
